Shaved ice was ok. Was honestly expecting a little more from the "special" flavors. Help seemed…read moredisinterested, even though there was only 1 customer ahead of us. Still took 10 minutes for 2 cups of shaved ice. They even have a sign that says they only take 10 orders at a time, due to the time it takes to prepare them or something... other than that, good flavor and felt like it was worth the money.

I went to this food truck for their first event ever on Monday, April 15, 2019 at the Children's…read moreMuseum of Northern Nevada in Carson City. They were having "Chill Out Day" in honor of Tax Day, and giving everyone a free Klassic size (small) shaved water ice between 11:30 AM and 1:30 PM. I talked to both owners at length. The father co-owner (they are a father and daughter team) told me they are free to roam Carson City and sell anywhere, but Douglas County is more strict, and allows them to go to only events. They do not cross over the California state line to sell there because they do not have a business permit there, but instead sell from the Nevada (Stateline) side, near the casinos. I was their first customer at the event. There was a father and some kids behind me, and I told them they could go first, but he said no. They give you an unflavored water ice in a cup with a spoon and napkin, and then you choose the flavors from their Flavorwave bar, which is on the side of the truck. I chose a combination of lime and pina colada. Then, when I had eaten half way through the water ice, and there was no more flavor left, I went back and filled it with mango and water melon. One man tried to pay, but the owner refused to take payment. These are the sizes and prices: Kiddie - $2 Klassic - $3 King - $4 (free flower lei included, while supplies last) Kowabunga - $5 (refills $3) There also two special choices: Color Changing - $5 (refills $3), (cup changes colors; while supplies last) Kollectable - $5 (refills $3), (collect all 10!; while supplies last) These are the 10 official flavors: Strawberry'd Treasure Pina Colada Tiger's Blood Blue Raspberry Water Melon Wave Lucky Lime Island Rush (app is available on the App Store) Ninja Cherry Monster Mango Groovy Grape Sugar free flavors are also available upon request. All flavors have fruit as their first ingredient, and are made with Stevia and pure cane sugar, so there is 70% less sugar. I did not want Tiger's Blood, since it made me think of eating real tiger's blood. The museum was supposed to have reserved parking for the truck right in front of the museum, as they had arranged this event with the museum. But the museum forgot, and when the truck arrived t 11:10 AM, there was no parking in front. So the truck drove around and around and finally settled on a spot in the back, by the dumpster, on North Plaza Street. Unfortunately, no one saw them. So I stood on the corner and alerted parents there was free water ice. Most didn't bother, and said they would come after the museum perhaps. Then, while I was talking to the father co-owner, who is an Air Force veteran, he spotted a spot on the side of the museum, on East Ann Street, and moved the truck there. I stood on the street, blocking the spot while he was moving. Then, while I was in the museum at 12:30 PM, one of the museum employees found out who was parked in the front and asked them to move. I went out then and stood in the spots to block them off while the truck was getting there. You see, the owners of the food truck drove to Reno that morning to be on the news and advertise they were going to be at the museum for Chill Out Day. They wanted to keep their word, and did not want people to think they had abandoned them by not being visible, ether on the side or back of the museum. They are honorable people. When I was in the museum later, a number of parents asked me where the free water ice was, and I directed them. One of them even made her daughter put back the snack she was going to buy from the museum since she learned free water ice was being offered outside. The daughter was not happy. I wish to thank the owners for having this event. May they have much success in the Carson City and Tahoe area! They are good people who care about our community. (By the way, I also tried to check in on Yelp while at the food truck, but Yelp said I was too far away to check in. How could I be too far away when I was right at the truck on East Ann Street and the food truck lists no address on their Yelp page, although the Yelp map had them far away on the outskirts of Carson City?)
