Still our go-to laundry place Updated Update (8/9/20): Uh-oh ..it seems their quality has gone down even with the price increase. Our clothes and sheets have been returned with stains that have easily come out with a quick soak by hand on the last couple of batches. What's quite unfortunate is the fresh laundry smell has been long gone even at pick-up. Sadly, COVID and related closures have had quite the impact on many businesses, and this one is no exception.

And the place is expansive and full of machines, so no need to get close. Last night, I was feeling restless and decided to give my old favorite a try. While there were new machines & dryers, the place was filthier than ever! Debris on the floor, tops of the washing machines gross from detergent, every washer I touched had lint or random stuff inside and sadly I spotted a couple of roaches. There were about 4-5 other people and one attendant. So I was surprised at the state of the place. Like most laundromats, this place uses a card instead of coins. The card is $5 which seems standard. I used the older washing machines that were $5.50 for what I think was a double loader. The indicator lights weren't working. I also used the older dryers at .35¢ for 8 minutes. Clothes including hoodies dried (for the most part) after 4 rounds. They used to be 24 hours, but no longer. Tuesday and Thursday nights they close at 10 and reopen in the morning. As a plus, they do have free parking

Uncomfortable Experience and Concerns About Customer Safety…read more I visited this laundromat at 13863 Queens Boulevard in Jamaica, Queens, and left feeling uncomfortable and concerned about my safety. During my visit, I became concerned about the situation involving clothes being held for unhoused individuals. I asked an employee whether this was a normal practice at the establishment because the situation made me feel unsafe. Rather than receiving a clear explanation or a professional response, the employee stared at me without much expression and stated, "I don't understand." I found this interaction dismissive, especially considering that I was attempting to communicate a genuine concern. I then firmly explained that once my wash cycle was complete, I intended to leave and dry my clothes elsewhere. Customers should be able to use a laundromat without feeling uncomfortable when raising reasonable questions about their surroundings. I would have appreciated a more attentive, respectful response and a clear explanation of the situation. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, reviews how customer safety concerns are addressed, and ensures that employees communicate with customers professionally and respectfully. Based on this experience, I believe there is room for improvement in customer service and how concerns are handled.
