I got wings and fries ($12) for myself. I got pizza empanadas for my sons. I also goy a kola champagne soda. This is a drink from Puerto Rico. After ordering, I was given a buzzer to be notified when it was ready. The staff person were very friendly. The buzzer went off at 5:23pm. The food was hot and fresh. However, the fries and chicken was unseasoned. Ketchup made the fries taste better. I had to eat the chicken how it was, lol. Overall, it was a good deal. My kids enjoyed their empanadas. The kola drink was interesting. It wasn't nasty but I can't say it'll be something I'd crave or be my first option. They are normally open Thursday-Saturday from 12pm-7pm at Compare Foods.

She was impressed with their posts and they made it easy to navigate their weekly schedule. We arrived shortly after 4pm on a Saturday afternoon at 801 Silas Creek Parkway in Winston. There were several cars there but no line. We approached the food truck and started looking over the menu. Everything they do features birria style meat. Neither of us have much experience ordering birria style dishes but the young man at the window was helpful in his recommendations on what to order for now and what dishes would save best for leftovers. We went with his recommendation to share the quesadilla now and order the tacos for later. The prices range from $12-15 per item but they also have a birria pizza for $35 which looks large enough to feed several people. We paid with a credit card and we're provided a small device that alerts customers when their orders are ready. This was the first time we have ever received something like this and though it was brilliant because so many times you order at a food truck you are stuck standing close by so you can hear your name when the order is ready. Our food was prepared in a timely manner and we decided to drive up the road before eating. When we opened up our containers everything looked incredible. We immediately dug in and the quesadilla was full of delicious ingredients and flavor. I took a few pictures of my tacos but saved them for later. I'm happy to report that they were delicious heated up. We will absolutely be back soon to try even more!

The food was all pretty solid - nachos loaded with pork, BBQ pork tacos, and a strangely satisfying Cuban sandwich. The nacho plate was pretty - presented with some craft. Prices were on point for a food truck - around $8-9 for most entries. Too bad the woman taking the orders had such a sh-tty attitude. Talk about a grumpasaurus. Jeez. I'll still give 'em four stars for food, price and presentation. Not to mention, their truck is really cool looking. But man, that crabby woman nearly ruined the meal. Doubt I'd go back if I saw her manning the truck.

The birria tacos were the highlight of the meal--crispy on the outside, packed with flavorful meat, and full of that rich, savory birria taste that keeps you coming back for another bite. The mixed-meat street tacos offered a nice variety, featuring birria, al pastor, and tripa. The al pastor brought a good balance of seasoning, while the tripa added a different texture that taco fans will appreciate 8 out 10 . The ACP was ok but needed more flavor on the rice and a for the grilled chicken and cheese I would have like more flavor on it to but me being the Fatboy I am , I added some of the consommé juice in and mix boom Flavor So all together I'll give them a 7.8 The customer service was great Josue took great care of us

There was also only one person working on the truck, and seemed to be completely overwhelmed and bogged down. The french fries were good, cooked to the perfect crispness on the outside, but still soft inside. I had friends who did order sandwiches, and they said they were good, but had to wait upwards to an hour because it was a one man show, and he just couldn't keep up with the orders. I'd love to see this truck survive, they had a lot of very tasty sounding creations, but if they can't get their pricing, and staffing under control, it probably won't last long

I'm thrilled to confess that Island Vibez not only didn't disappoint, it actually surpassed my expectations. This tiny corner restaurant is more designed for take-out orders only, however do they offer an outdoors patio seating option for their customers! Unlike several Jamaican spots where attitude awaits you before you even order, this particular cashier (short male with dreadlocks) was not only patient with my friend and I as we went over their menu but kind enough to warn us beforehand that each meal is made fresh-to-order so it takes about 20 minutes before you're indulging. From traditional Caribbean cuisine like Jerk & Curry Chicken, Goat and (my absolute favorite) Oxtails to "islander local favorites" such as Ackee Sawfish, Beef/Chicken patties, hot & cold veggie dishes and Callaloo, you will NOT be letdown by the menu variety and sweet service that awaits you inside of Island Vibez, a true Winston-Salem hidden gem!

Kuya Bear offers a compact menu with very affordable pricing. Adobo, tapsilog (both available in burritos or bowls), lumpia, rangoon rolls, and ube rolls were on the list. The bowls/burritos ran only $8/$9 while the rolls were 5 for $6. Given how much food costs have skyrocketed, this was a welcome surprise. They were out of the ube rolls, so we split a lumpia, a rangoon, and a tapsilog bowl. Overall, the food was very tasty. The crispy, savory lumpia were among the best I ever had. This was my first time trying tapsilog, but it won't be the last. There was plenty of garlic flavor as well as a citrus note from the sauce. The rangoons definitely weren't bad and paired well with a sweet chili though the roll form made them seem light on filling. For as much as Kuya Bear does right, there is one major drawback to ordering from here. On the night in question at least, the owner was running a one-man show. While I commend his hustle, we still ended up waiting for over a half hour after placing our order. If you come hungry, that may be longer than you are willing to wait. If I were at a food truck festival with other options nearby or spotted more than one person working the truck, I would gladly order from Kuya Bear again. Otherwise, for as good as the food is, it's a calculated risk.
