If you are dealing with an orthopedic injury you don't have to live with the alarming lack of medical expertise along with deceptive information prevalent at Pinehurst surgical. Moore Regional ER will send you here, but you have other options I found Dr. Broussard at Cape Fear Orthopedics in Pinehurst. I would not be living with permanent pain and disfigurement if I had known about Dr. Broussard. He is a gem. He's been here for five years. If I had only known sooner. read more

Less than quality experience at this office. Had an ortho appointment with a PA-C Chad Fraiser. Drove 45 minutes to get there after waiting almost 40 minuets past my appointment time, I had to Leave because of the delays. It's clear that this clinic is not a professional climate and cannot keep to any kind of a responsable schedule. Had appointment on 27 February 1245. Was called to the back in timely manner.After PA took notes waited 25 minutes to see Max Brenner ( took 10- 12 minutes) was professional. In end told me I needed MRI. I was in the room waiting an additional 30 minutes , by luck a nurse came in looking for something. I asked how much longer. That's when I realized they had forgotten I was in the room. They began to scramble saying someone was supposed to have taken care of me, yet when I looked Dead at Dr. Brenner he had the look of why was I still there and said nothing to me or anyone who was trying undo the FACT that I was waiting 30 minutes ( would have been longer had the staff not come in the room, not to get me, but looking for something) and had to ask how long it was going to take. read more

Today I received the best care from Dr. Bailey Sanders and her assistant Heather at Pinehurst surgical. Dr. Sanders listened to my concerns and took action immediately. The appointment was not rushed and Dr. Sanders gave me options for my care. I am used to military are of "treat and street". Dr. Sanders provided patient care. She is kind, professional and administered the best local anesthesia I have ever received. I am an NP and I know what right looks like. Heather and Dr. Sanders provided seamless high-quality care. My mom had a meniscus repair done across the street from the actual office. The process was smooth and everything went as planned. They have a screen that shows each patients number and the contact person gets text notifications for the patient every step of the way. I got a text when my mom went into surgery, came out from surgery, was in recovery, etc. I like that, it puts the contact person's mind at ease. Everyone in the office was super nice. My mom's nurse, Beverly, in post-op was awesome. She was really sweet, gentle, and empathetic. Beverly made sure my mom and I knew how to work her brace before we left and that my mom was as comfortable as possible in post-op. Big shout out to her!! Dr. Casey is amazing! From the very start, he made sure both of us knew the possibilities, risks, and answered any questions we had thoroughly. When he explained things, he did it in a way that was easy to understand. He was very assuring before surgery. After surgery, my mom had several complications (no fault of his) and he was very supportive. He even called us to check in when he wasn't the doctor on call and stopped by the hospital to check on my mom when he was out of office. Couldn't have asked for a better doctor!! read more

Thank you all for gathering here today to remember our good friend, Customer Service. She had a good life, occasionally an off day but her medical team told us she was tired and gave up. Now that Customer Service is no longer, we have to put up with Mediocre Service and Poorly Trained Service (which shall respectfully be referred to as Mediocre and Poorly through the rest of the review). Without further ado, let me familiarize you with the two newest editions to the team. Poorly: Relies on Ms. Mediocre who places priority on getting your copay over actually listening and taking action to correct an issue. Poor Ms. Poorly is being led astray and then has to circumnavigate the situ and go around the corner to talk with the supervisor. Unfortunately, the supervisor does not come out from the corner to assist Poorly, so she has to figure it out on her own. She wants to do better, but doesn't offer any solutions and the customer is left to sort it out. Okay, here's the plain, non-funny explanation: I was told to show up 20 minutes early for a consultation appointment. I may have been a few minutes shy of 20 minutes, as good old google maps took me to the wrong building. Either way, I was still early with my rowdy child who was running a muck in the waiting area while I attempted to explain why I wasn't paying a copay for the appointment. The person I was working with told me that my insurance company's website was down so they couldn't verify that I didn't owe a copay. This is not the first time I've encountered this challenge and I advised the person to call the insurance company directly, as I was advised to say by my insurance company. Meanwhile, the lady goes back and forth around the corner trying to get approval from her supervisor to proceed without me paying the copay. Her peer is saying that another person did the same thing and they ended up having to bill her and so just make me pay it. No ma'am, all my financial obligations have been met for the year and I am not a bank who lends money out that won't be reimbursed anytime soon because of all the paperwork and nonsense filing doctor's offices do with generous timeframes to do so (some places have up to a year to submit a claim). I am met again with, "We can't trust that you're telling the truth so just pay the copay." On top of that I'm told I won't be officially checked in until that is done. Now I'm searching online through my benefits which shows my deductible and catastrophic cap and that I have indeed paid in full. Finally, after one more visit around the corner, I am checked in. I almost yelled, "Get up and come to the counter to help!" What kind of supervisor sits in the back when someone comes to them multiple times over the same issue? Fast forward, I've been taken to a room and it's now been a full hour since we arrived. For what? A ten minute consultation! Plus, I didn't get the doctor I scheduled the appointment with and this was not a choice I was given. Who does that? There is something rotten in the state of healthcare. I will reassess my threshold for nonsense and invest less time in places like this. I recommend the same to you. read more

surgeon was nice but make sure you plan to be at your appointment for at a minimum an hour. for my consult and my post op I waited an hour before I even saw the doc. surgery went smoothly and I was confident in my surgeons skill but the scheduling has got a lot of room to improve. read more

I gave 4 stars because of the excellent service rendered by Connie Tighe and her assistant, Emma. Both of whom were very nice and extremely prompt in getting to the room I was placed. But, keep reading. Although, Connie and Emma's service was top notched (patience while answering questions, thorough in providing explanations and kind above all), the receptionist was the rudest I am ever encountered there. Ever. First, I am an established patient who has been seen before, within the last 2 years. Second, I have insurance and there was no payment required, per Daisy, the lazy. Daisy asked for help from the receptionist to her left, twice and still could not get it right. I saw the confusion in her eyes and the lack of keystrokes she did not make. She again whispered to the receptionist to her left who should have taken over by now, and they began talking about an insurance profile I had on file from my previous employment. The nice receptionist told me (at least SHE would talk to me and ask questions) that my previous insurance was still active. Oh, there is hope and I am happy. I still had the insurance card from my previous employer and offered it to Daisy. So, now she had two to play with because she was still struggling. Mind you, there were MANY people checking in to the left and right and Daisy is looking very confused and not communicating with me at all. She has stopped asking for help and so I offered to help her by politely saying, "Is there anything I can do to help you?" She looked at me with the rudest expression, deadpan eyes and gave a cold response that she was working on my insurance. After standing there for 20 minutes I mentioned that I needed to sit down and I didn't want to miss my appointment. Still, the mean, rude Daisy with a hateful voice that the secretary knew I was there. How would I know if she didn't tell me that 10-20 minutes ago. After standing 25 minutes, I mentioned that I had been standing 25 minutes. Her response was that the secretary knew I was there and I could go sit down. Daisy lacks the necessary skillset to work in customer service anywhere. She appears to lack basic home training as well. She should never be allowed to interact with people in a medical facility at all. Never once did I get loud, roll my eyes or disrespect her. I agree with the review left by Linda B. and I hope this feedback gets into the hands of someone who can find a quick replacement for Daisy because no amount of training can fix a mean-hearted person who acts with no provocation. Daisy is the worst and she knows it. Again, the 4 star review is ONLY because of the excellent service provided by Connie and Emma. But, getting to them was a challenge that need not be had. read more

When coming to this office we were First informed to go upstairs and check in for the walk-in clinic. We got upstairs. We were then informed to go back downstairs when going back downstairs and getting off the elevator we noticed that there was no one to the right checking in so we went and walked up to the desk. This particular receptionist informed us that we needed to step back and let someone else go first because she refused to wait on us first. When she called us up to the receptionist desk to check us in, she was very rude and as she was asking questions as we were checking in of course I answered them then she gets up and informs another receptionist that just come in from lunch to take over, and I'm still asking questions, and she politely walks out the door from behind the desk.... (Now they come to me and inform me that they want me to take the photos off of Yelp and they want me to take the post down as well so basically they're trying to and attempting to control my yelp review.)) read more

The nurse that called me back was very professional along with Lane the X ray tech! I wasn't seen by the PA u til 3:40 to get a shot in my knee! I arrived for my appointment today in the Women's Clinic, on time. I signed in and sat down. There was no receptionist at the window, she came back 10 minutes later, called a lady and spent about 5 minutes with her. She then called my name, she couldn't get my insurance to go through at first so it took a few minutes. The Doctors Secretary called my name and took me back to her office and said the Doctor said I would have to reschedule because she schedules every 15 minutes and she was on to her next patient. I said I arrived on time and it wasn't my fault there was no one to check me in. I rescheduled with her over a month out. The more I thought about it I called back and made an appointment with another Doctor. I told them I didn't have time for her. I think I will cancel that appointment tomorrow and go elsewhere. I showed up 15 min early for my appointment and didn't get seen until 90min after my appointment time. No one mentioned they were running behind or acknowledged it. The doctor spent maybe 10min with me and said he would call me over the weekend to follow up. He never called. I called back the following week to leave a message for the doctor to call me and the receptionist didn't even speak to me, she just transferred me to the doctors voicemail soon as she heard his name. I still haven't received a call back from the doctor. Lacking on professionalism and curtesy. read more

My mother who is 80, left in tears. Her appointment was changed without her knowledge. She arrived at 3pm to be treated rudely and told she missed her appointment. Immediately she was told that she would not be helped until she paid a past due bill, from 2011!! Mind you, my mother has seen countless providers over the years, had the same phone number, but was never notified or asked to pay at any of those visits. Make no mistake-she was ambushed and bullied!! The front desk team proceeded to humiliate her in front of many other customers and then walk her back to the finance person, who again who completely bullied her to pay. The staff refused to help her get to her appointment because my mother could not pay the $51 from 13 years prior. I guess having 2 insurance policies to cover her visit, is not enough. My mother at this point was so upset she left and will NEVER go back. If Chick-filet can train teens to treat their customers with respect, certainly one of the largest healthcare organizations in Moore County can train their staff on common courtesy and dignity too. So much for the Hippocratic oath, to do know harm. I spoke with my mom a week later and she is still tearful talking about it; oh and still untreated and pain. Utterly SHAMEFUL. read more

I was pregnant and this was the only place that had availability. Every time I would go here I would wait forever to be seen by a doctor. I ended up going into pre term labor and the next time I went to back into be seen they had no idea I even went into early labor because none of that was in my chart. They never remember you as a patient which is frustrating when you want to follow up and they have no idea what was even said at the last appointment. Also I was told by the doctor that I wouldn't last another week pregnant and would have my son any day and then I didn't end up having him for another 4 weeks. Which was hard to anticipate the waiting game being it was my first pregnancy and my anxiety was through the roof. read more

I had an appointment scheduled for the Women's Clinic with Dr Terry at 11:25 today and I was told to arrive 30 minutes early to fill out paperwork. I checked in at 10:50. I asked if the doctor was running behind. They said no and to my surprise I didn't have any paperwork to fill out. At 11:45 I walked to the desk and asked what the issue was for the delay. I've been waiting almost an hour in the lobby. 20 minutes passed my appointment I find out, supposedly now, there are several patients ahead of me and they're running behind. I asked if I'd be seen before noon and was told probably not. Again, my appointment was at 11:25. I should've had my vitals taken by then. I have wasted my time and money to be at this appointment (on time), only to be told that I won't even be seen by 12:00. Your staff should be ashamed of themselves as they seem to not know what is going on and will feed you excuses, if they are even at the desk. Excellent!!! Professional at every level of service. I was very apprehensive of my head surgery. Although fairly minor. Still! It's on my head. Dr. Kilpatrick and staff really put me at ease. I walked in to the operating room and immediately heard the "Grateful Dead" on the radio. That's pretty cool I thought to myself. Then the nurses also put me at ease with their kind words of encouragement. Kilpatrick was quick and to the point with the numbing and surgery. I was stitched up and out the door in 35 min. WOW! I would highly recommend Kilpatrick and staff. read more

I went to the women's care center, the nurse was rude. The NP was nice. I'm a nurse, I know the questions that should be asked -- they asked me only four questions. They were not as caring as they should be. It took way too long to get my test results back. My exam room was not clean either. When I got up to get dressed, I noticed some BLOOD on the floor which was definitely not from myself. I recommend going to Williamson Gynecologist -- just a minute down the road -- they are 100% better. read more

Went for an 11:30 appointment, at 12:00 I checked the status.... I was told it will be another hour or so.... I asked is this a normal situation with Dr. Brenner, and was told yes. If he is not professional enough to manage his time, I surely don't want him performing surgery on me. Asked for refund, and left. Not to toot my own horn, but I run a $100M a year Industrial Facility, and rarely am I more than 1-2 minutes late for an appointment. It actually hurts me to my heart that Dr. Jones in the Women's Clinic at this location delivered such a horrible level of care and cultural competence. Forgot to refer procedures, like mammograms (right after an exam), no call back after a week of an appt with test results (it took 3 calls each time to three different people to even get a call back). And lastly, the worst care I have ever been given...a nurse practitioner purposely lied to me about needing a basic antibiotic for a cyst after an ultrasound (that I also had to ask for, and set a second appt jus to get; as there was no machine in the office). Again, another three calls, another week, and the nurse said YES, it is a ruptured cyst. And NO, we do no prescribe antibiotics for that, after I repeated asked her; stating that I experience this once to twice per year. WHAT! Avoid this woman at all costs. I sincerely hopes that she gets the psychological help that she deserves. I have a M.P.H., and so does she (along w/her medical degrees)...yet she acts as if she has no degree at all. Disgusted by the discrimination from this doctor of color. Disgusted. DO NOT EVER visit here. EVER. I don't know what her problem is, but she definitely has a problem with the medical code of ethics. I went to Dr. Chamberlain twice and was very disappointed. I had a serious problem with kidney stones over new years 2018 and received a referral for him from the ER. Unbeknownst to me, I called for an appointment, just as i would for any other doctor. I was met with a barrage from the receptionist: I don't call them, they call me! They have to see how to fit me in after the doctors analyze my chart. I waited about ten days and no response. I called again and finally got a friendly response and an appointment with Dr. Chamberlain. When I met him, he barely spoke, asked minimal questions, and scheduled a cat scan. I never heard back. I had to call again and was told I passed the stone. Six months passes and I get another kidney stone attack and another ER visit. I saw Dr. Chamberlain, and he barely spoke to me, ordered a cat scan, and no results later. I had to call twice and finally the good doctor wrote this on my chart; no stone found. How descriptive! No call, no concern, but he was glad to take my money, wasn't he? The issue here is that there is no other local practice to do business with and he knows it. We are stuck in Moore County unless we want to go out of town. Nice, eh? read more

About three years ago, I decided it was necessary to get evaluated and treated for a chronic orthopedic issue. My knees were completely worn out. I started with the Pinehurst Surgery Clinic in Raeford and wound up at their main clinic in Pinehurst to talk to Dr. Ward Oakley, PA Blatz and NP Tighe. Let me frame this care with the rave reviews I had heard for years about Drs. Oakley, Brenner and Conti. I was an occupational health RN at a nationally known chemical company and the staff & employees trusted me. They were the multiple voices of confidence, telling me "This is who you MUST see if you ever have an orthopaedic problem". So I checked out their work and visited to find every word I learned was true. They are experts in orthopaedic care. My issue is resolved, the chronic pain is gone and my mobility has improved to 100%. So you see, it was not just my opinion, it was the collective opinions of many adults with similar chronic, repetitive musculoskeletal illnesses and injuries. It comes with the process of maturing. My experience was credible enough that my spouse now sees the same professionals for his care. I am truly sorry the other person had a bad experience. In all fairness, I have to say I had a VERY POSITIVE experience and am much improved! I cannot say enough GOOD for the professionals cited above. My daughter saw Dr. Oakley this am with severe back pain and numbness in her leg. He took x-rays---told her her x-rays look good and to take ibuprofen and exercise. She explained to him that the pain was so bad she couldn't sleep (she was not asking for pain meds.). That was the end of the visit. I encouraged her to go to Dr. Oakley because he, at one time was a good, caring doctor. He was my doctor, however I will not be going back to him. read more

Were it possible to give them zero stars I would. I went in for a simple shoulder repair. What I got was a Dr and staff that did almost as much damage as they repaired!! I'll start with preop. I have good insurance, but apparently they charge a good bit more than my insurance feels in the normal rate. I just had abdominal surgery and owed a few hundred dollars. This? 2K after my insurance paid. no wait. It was before my insurance paid. Before I could even get my surgery they wanted all of it up front. I had to pester them to bring them down to a 50% up front / 6mo payment plan and they made me feel like a begger to dare ask for such a thing. I had Dr. Brenner who is top-rated. He looked at my should for 5 min in his office, then handed me off to his people. The 1 hour appt turned into 4 as I waited for them to do tests. When I went in for an MRI I explained my dominant shoulder was frozen and I had a severely bad back (I'm disabled). I would need help getting into and out of the MRI. Rather than helping me she barked "You need to scoot further in" repeatedly. I finally yelled back for her to get my fiance - an RN - in the next room if she couldn't be bothered to help me get into and out of the MRI. Looking put-upon she finally helped me - mumbling under her breath. The surgery? They medicated me and then had me signing release forms. Afterwards there were 10 of in recovery w 2 nurses running around. My fiance just told them to tell her want needed done and she'd handle it. When we got home, one opening on my back was pouring out fluid. We peeled off the bandage to find they had tried to staple it twice and MISSED both times. In fact they missed on several wounds. My fiance used steri-strips to close the wounds. My biceps was horribly bruised. Two surgical nurses (friends) informed me they has STRAPPED ME DOWN FAR TOO TIGHT and cause two huge hematoma's to form. They waited 14 days to check the wounds and remove the staples - usually done 8-10 days. By the time they released me to PT the shoulder had started to refreeze. The bruising on my biceps - in spite of us icing it - was huge and hematoma's hard and tender. My PT guy told me the same thing. Straps too tight. Told me they had done horrible damage. My recovery would be twice and long and twice as painful. Still in PT. Getting better. If you want to be treated like a number...a check-book. Then go to this money-printing machine. They appear over-worked as they crank out assembly-line medicine. The Dr? When I asked about the staples and the bruising etc, he dismissed all of it. I told him I knew the bruising was from the straps being far too tight. He said it was simply drainage. The shoulder repair? He cleaned out a mess with bone spurs and a wretched bursis. I expected him to fix the bicep tear and rotator cuff tear. He said it was not severe enough and he'd do more damage if he touched it. My should has been looser so that is good. But. The damage to my arm and the inability to close the deep wounds (simple pre-op and post-op stuff that can kill you with infection when done badly) lead me to believe that some second-stringer did terrible pre- and post-op work on me and my Dr was left to try to explain it away. I have no plans to go here again and I would advise anyone else to stay far away. read more
