I shared with her some of my professional concerns with my own clients in my business and she was happy to give me her opinion and advice as well as tools and refrences for my dog training toolbox. She seriously took such a weight off of my shoulders for just listening... as well as pointing me in the right direction. I also talked to her about my story and how I started and she made me so happy when she said "I know your clients are in good hands." Sometimes you just need a little hug from someones words... it means so much to know that she genuinely cares about her students.

After looking through everything, I was impressed at how the material was presented and the study guide was written in an easy to follow and understand format. I am learning things about dog and puppy behavior that I never knew, and now I am gaining an understanding of why my dog is the way he is and what makes him who he is! I'm learning about puppies and their growth cycles, different breeds, and their inherited traits, and how dogs learn and so much more! This is just the first Phase! CATCH really teaches you everything you need to know if you're going to work with dogs in any capacity! My Program Director, Liv, has been amazing! She has been responsive to a call or an email when I have reached out, she has been very supportive, patient and encouraging for me as an older student. I'm still at the beginning and have a long way to go but am well prepared with this program and the support of my Program Director, Liv, who will be a major part of my success in becoming a dog trainer! I am enjoying my educational experience with CATCH Canine Training Academy and would recommend it to anyone who is interested in working with dogs in any environment. Thank you, Liv, for your support, and CATCH for creating a program that's fun, educational and keeps the student engaged and wanting more!

Horrible! Don't go to this institute. The dental program is a joke. You are required to take a year…read morerapid course then in the end take multiple state exams that are far and beyond more abstract than what is taught in this school. I recommend you attend another trade school than this joke of a school.

I have no idea why this specific Fortis location isn't on Yelp. I've seen other Fortis locations…read morelisted, but they have different addresses, so to be clear, this review is for the Fortis Institute located at 450 N Sam Houston Pkwy E, Ste 200, Houston, TX 77060. I attended this school for the Medical Assistant program to work toward becoming a CCMA (Certified Clinical Medical Assistant). At the beginning, my experience was okay and I didn't have many issues with my classes or instructors. However, as I got further into the program, my experience started to change. There were three staff members in particular that I had issues with. 1. Ms. Marin: I later found out that she would talk about me and my friends, and there were times when she would call us out in front of the entire class in a way that made us feel singled out or less than everyone else. I don't think students should be made to feel embarrassed in front of their classmates, especially by an instructor. 2. Ms. Nun: Whenever I had class with her, I felt like we barely learned anything. I specifically remember my friends and I asking if we could go through the skills list and practice different things to see what we still remembered and what we needed more help with. We were trying to make sure we were actually prepared, but our request was basically ignored and we barely practiced anything. 3. Ms. Moxcley: Toward the end of the program, we were told that we would receive assistance with finding employment. I remember reaching out to her multiple times about finding a job, but I would either receive no response or very little communication. Because I wasn't getting anywhere, I recently contacted Ms. Goss for help finding an MA position. I explained that I'm specifically interested in working as a Medical Assistant in an OB/GYN clinic. She told me she would call me. When she called, I happened to be busy and missed it, but I returned her call shortly afterward. She didn't answer, so I sent her a message letting her know I had called back and was available. This happened Tuesday. By Friday, I still had not received a response to any of the messages I sent afterward. I finally sent another message, and she responded saying she would call me "momentarily." I waited about two hours and still did not receive a call. That is what finally pushed me to leave this review. One of the things students are told is that Fortis will help them with employment after completing the program. In my experience, once you're finished with the school, getting that help has been extremely frustrating. Messages go unanswered, communication is inconsistent, and the employment assistance I was told I would receive has not been what I expected. I also don't understand the point of asking students what area they want to specialize in as an MA if the positions they are being directed toward aren't related to what they said they were interested in. I understand that nobody can guarantee you a specific job, but there is a difference between not being able to guarantee employment and simply not communicating with a former student who is actively asking for assistance. I completed my program and I'm genuinely trying to start my career and put my education to use. I'm not asking anyone to hand me a job. I'm asking for the career assistance and communication that we were told would be available to us. Unfortunately, my experience trying to receive that assistance has been extremely disappointing.

Five star education. Christine Valmy is the place to go if you want to pursue a career in the field…read moreof cosmetology or esthetics. What you learn at this school will stick with you for the rest of your life. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and as long as YOU PUT IN EFFORT, they will more than gladly assist you. Don't bother attending ANY school if you're not willing to put in any work, especially when you're PAYING to attend. It's not a place to come in and sit on your phone majority of the day. Go to class, do what is expected of you just as you would at work and you'll have a great experience. Christine Valmy is filled with extremely hard working educators and staff (whom are not paid well enough for all that they do to keep the school running the way that it does.) There are some issues such as the junior class not having a ceiling so the noise pours in from the back factory where products are made and assembled but Ms. Melissa does an excellent job pushing through those disruptions to deliver her class the knowledge they need to complete the first 300 hours of esthetics. Having a ceiling installed in the back junior class is something that the owners need to really work on. All in all, if you want an amazing education or even just a great service wether it be hair or skin, Christine Valmy is a great place to go. You'll meet great people and what you take away from the school can't be matched anywhere else.
