Maybe there is something wrong with me, but I am totally not seeing the appeal. The produce was not that thrilling or even cheap (for what it was). Their sign reads, "Try our Cuban Sandwich!" I will thanks. And... I did. It was wet and tasted a little gamey--- all this coming from a person that lives off of pork fat. Oh, and it was almost $9.00 and almost a 20 minute wait. Most of the wait being in the register line with the slowest clerk ever. No thanks, Vince. You seem busy... Maybe even too busy for me.

The tomatoes I get at Vince's are way better than what you often find at Publix. I'm also sick of giving chain stores $1 for one lemon, where here I can get 3 or 4 for the same price. Maybe it is a little smaller, and maybe it isn't perfect looking but man who cares when it is 1/3 off? It juices just fine and serves my needs. One thing I suggest, come here with no real plans of what you "need". Buy what looks good and make something interesting out of it. Be sure to get some tortillas to take home as well. This is not a full service place, just produce and the deli counter with some sandwiches and pizza. A few assorted spices as well. But I'm saving a lot, and supporting the little guy who is taking a chance opening up a place that has seen way too many business come and go. Plus Vince and his son are nice guys!

The Butcher Shop is a store providing pre cut ,frozen and vacuumed packaged on our visit the choices were limited especially in Pork and Chicken. The store also provides a huge variety of bottled herbs, rubs and associated items for kitchen use. The market personnel state that the meats especially the beef is of the highest quality such as Wagyu and I have no reason to doubt that. Over all the experience was not good especially when you pay premium for pre cut and packaged vs hand cut to order. If you are looking for a butcher this is not the place to go. For those who don't mind this approach go for it.

While the hubs shopped for dinner, I went ahead and started looking through the cold case for something to munch on. It was lunch time and I was starvin'. That's when the guy behind the counter stopped me and pointed to some signs on the walls... FRESH, MADE TO ORDER HOT FOOD COMBOS?! I was overwhelmed with choices so he said he would make me something yummy and I mean... Why not trust your fish guy? There are several vendors that can be found at the downtown Sarasota Saturday Farmers Market and different ones as well. The variety of vendors as well as the live musical talent is excellent. I love that it takes place in a grassy area. There is ample parking on the premises. Check it out for yourself if you live nearby or are in the area. We will continue to return!
