We had the best Christmas dinner of Prime Rib. Everything was great and so easy to reheat. We will definitely do this again!

Very expensive which is fine if meat is good. Paid $19/lb for beef brisket and was not good at all.

Ummm... HOW DOES THIS PLACE NOT HAVE ANY REVIEWS!? First of all, the place is split into two…read moredifferent buildings based upon what you're looking for. One half has all of their fresh seafood while the other has pork/beef and poultry. The shops themselves aren't all that fancy... But I didn't expect them to be. They're small, clean and cramped full of deliciousness. Whole Foods snobs, beware. My hubby and I lingered in the side of the store with the other meats (those smoked ham hawks though... DROOL!) and frozen goods for a minute looking for the fish before someone directed us to the other building (lol) aaaand there, my friend, is where all the magic was happening. We were greeted by a really cool guy (he didn't speak english too well, but I certainly don't give a sh*t) arranging fresh shrimp over ice and we were instantly amazed. The prices were flippin unreal! 8.99 a lb for jumbo head on shrimp, 10.99 for snow crab legs... It was almost to good to be true. AND THEN IT GOT BETTER! While the hubs shopped for dinner, I went ahead and started looking through the cold case for something to munch on. It was lunch time and I was starvin'. That's when the guy behind the counter stopped me and pointed to some signs on the walls... FRESH, MADE TO ORDER HOT FOOD COMBOS?! I was overwhelmed with choices so he said he would make me something yummy and I mean... Why not trust your fish guy? He grabbed two filets of red snapper off the ice and walked back into his kitchen. A few minutes later, he came back with a styrofoam to-go box full of crispy golden fish and fresh cut fries. SWEET LORD IT WAS SO GOOD! 1 lb of fried snapper, 1 lb of hand cut fries + 3 hush puppies, all for $8.99!? Be still, my heart. It was such a hefty portion that my man and I ended up sharing it. We got out of there with a 1lb filet of grouper, half a pound of head on shrimp, a pound of crab and my generous 2 filet lunch for only $33! What a complete steal! I can't even get farm raised frozen fish at Publix for those prices! Other than the Starfish Co, so far this is the only place we will be going for our fresh seafood. Excellent quality meats, excellent service.

I just couldn't help but leave a review about my experience thus far. If you shop around Cooper's Creek (or Total Wine) you're probably like me and have passed by this place plenty of times. I always tell myself to go in but get sidetracked before I end up doing so. I wanted to take a look at the offerings FINALLY and see what this place is all about. After all, we don't have many butcher's shops in Sarasota. The store was clean and bright allowing for clear views of all of the meat. I liked that the displays weren't overloaded with meat like I see at Detweiler's. Something about the quantity of meat in the cold cases at Detweiler's puts me off because I often see chicken breasts sliding into other areas in their displays and ground pork gets mixed with ground beef often. Countless times when I order breakfast sausage, I come home with chunks of beef in the package of sausage. I have to say the steaks had some of the best marbling I've seen at a retail store. I tend to purchase meats from Publix because of the convenience but still try to get higher quality stuff they offer. Problem is, the selection is limited, supply is inconsistent, and it is VERY expensive for the amount you get. I've spent $15 on 2 burger patties alone (yeah, I can be a sucker for grass-fed/antibiotic-free meat). I have been to several steak restaurants that allow tours through the kitchens and seen stations where they carve their own steaks to order. The steak at these places is almost always impeccable, which explains the flavor and tenderness of the steaks. The marbling at Butcher's Mark very similar to those restaurants. I also eyed some of the other items like wagyu hot dogs, pork chops, and ribs. Everything looked super fresh and high quality. I spoke to a manager (I believe it was a Rob possibly? I don't have the card in front of me) and he was super informative and helpful. He explained that he can customize an order a bit if I need something that isn't on display, such as doing some 1/4lb burgers rather than the 1/2lb burgers they make ahead. Overall, I am excited I finally came in and look forward to this becoming my new place to purchase meat! The prices seemed very fair for the product and some prices beat those that I find at my local Publix.

I was there for the wine, I might have bought some potato salad. You step off the burning Sarasota asphalt into a cool, carpeted room that smells like cold cut steaks, smoked bacon fat, and the damp oak of expensive wine barrels. Up in the back room, behind a pair of doors under a small, glittering chandelier, they keep the high-dollar stuff Opus, Ridge, Cabernets that costs more than a ome poor slobs week's wages. It's my new favorite gourmet store / resto in SRQ. The Artisan Cheese Company is a woman owned epicurean food shop. We visited on a weekday afternoon and it had a steady stream of locals. The space isn't huge, but inside is bright with big windows filled with goodies strewn about. In the rear is the order counter behind the cured meats and cheeses. There are few dining tables next to the patio as well as a handful of tables on their patio. +++ The ACC seems to specialize in harder to locate artisan cheeses, butters, gourmet goodies for pantries and has a limited rotating lunch menu. They have so many of my favorites that are difficult to locate, it was impressive. I found Ploughgate cultured butter for the first time in several years, Jasper Hill, Monista teas, Spanish Marconas and even Meridith Dairy marinated cheese here!! DelightFuL to find such a well stocked market! They also serve interesting and comforting light lunches and offer beautifully prepared charcuterie boards. Everything we tried was delicious! We had their open face grilled cheese, tomato soup and tacos which seemed more like tostadas with interesting toppings. This is a perfect place for easy party boards, hostess gifts for those with discerning palates and satisfy your cravings. = Price is high...nothing has a price tag ++ Service is quite good and the staff are knowledgeable! + Parking is street and was easy. This is a non-touristy art district. It is an excellent gourmet shop and sure wish this ACC was in Atlanta! MY RATINGS - - - Inhumane - - Disgusted - Don't bother = Missed the Mark + Good ++ Better +++ EDIBLE...WHERE have you been all my LiFe!
