Would definitely recommend making a reservation if possible because this small speakeasy gets busy pretty quickly. All the drinks here are good and I love the tapas that come with it. The vibes are great and the bartenders are pretty friendly.

Cute little tiki speakeasy that feels like a hidden island gem. Great if you love all the fun, fruity, beach cocktails! It's definitely a vibe while you're in the city. We'll be back and making reservations next time for sure.

First know.... This is a hidden gem so you'll need a code to enter this Tiki vibe speakeasy. Service goes beyond good customer service these folks educate you on their cocktails blend what year they were created then who. Also Provide what snacks pair with what Tiki Drink. Many of their drinks are rum base with recipes from all over the world. Music is like being in tropics or bayou or Pirates den with friends. Come join this inventive Tiki Speakeasy. Should be on your bucket List as it's ageless!! Cheers.

We spent a day off in Galveston and were surprised to learn about this hidden away speakeasy-style tiki bar. We were greeted immediately as we entered (and as our eyes adjusted to the moodily-lit shack), and the bartender was friendly and made our drinks quickly. The mini food pairings with the drinks really elevated the experience too. This is a must do for tiki lovers!

I was finally in Galveston and couldn't wait to try this place. It is amazing!! The ambiance, the bartenders, the drink and food pairing, everything! Love, love, love this tiki bar!

I highly recommend making a reservation and having at least 6 people in your party. This bar has very limited seating but so worth it! As the door slides open you will enter into another world! I don't want to give away all the cool details of the bar but they really put a lot of thought and work into making you feel as if you have escaped to a tropical oasis! I love that they pair food with each drink. The portions are small but you can order more sides for around 5.00. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable of the menu and drinks. I wish that you could choose a different food item for each drink but they said you can't. My favorite drink there is the chi chi!

This place is too awesome! From the decor and ambiance, to the service, to the food and drink... 5 stars across the board. I was excited to try it because I love the speakeasy vibe (secretive dark places please me so much), but how they hid it all is extra clever. If you didn't know it was there, you'd never be able to tell or find it. It's brilliant how they pair snacks with each drink, and we are talking top notch snacks! No trail mix or plain chips here. The drinks themselves are so inventive and I love their creative twists on classic recipes. You'll want to go through this whole menu.

This place was fantastic! Mel was our bartender and she was very charismatic with wonderful suggestions. All of our drinks came with mini food pairings. And the atmosphere was nothing but tiki vibes! We'll definitely be back!

This bar is amazing and the staff is so friendly. Would highly recommend everyone had a great time here even the non drinkers in the group. Bartender was very friendly and knowledgeable. Will be back!

Brad and his team have nailed it! This speakeasy style Tiki bar has all the elements that made places like Trader Vic's, Tiki Tatsu-ya, and Trader Sam's famous. It only seats around 30 people, making it even more special! Well conceived variations on classic tiki style cocktails coupled with delicious tropical food pairings made this one of my favorite bar experiences ever. Tips: Entrance is via a coded door lock! You must join their mailing list to get notified of access code. The code changes frequently, so do it now! As a party of 5 or more you can make a reservation at Resy. Otherwise, you'll have to wait in line to get in, which could take a while, but you can grab a drink at Daiquiri Time Out while you're waiting. I don't want to spoil the surprises in store for you, so I won't say anything more other than - GO, JUST GO!

Cute little tiki bar, Mel was a great bartender it was cool watching her make all the drinks.

Ambiance sitting at the bar. The lighting was intimate and felt like you were immersed in a true tiki experience.

Went here during a small beach getaway to Galveston and was absolutely impressed! The ambiance was that of a traditional tiki hut and was giving very romantic vibes as well. The space was great for a date or even special gathering with friends (if you can reserve a table). I enjoyed that every drink was coupled with a food plate that complemented the flavors, it was truly a niche experience! The drinks themselves were also fairly strong and full of flavor, so that's always a plus, haha! Highly recommend getting the secret code to this spot and checking it out next time you're in Galveston!

Great ambiance, fantastic tiki drinks, and perfectly paired delicious bites!

I'm all about tropical vibes so we made our way over for a nightcap. Located in a shopping center, parking won't be a problem. We were there pretty late on a Thursday night. Ambiance (4/5): Tiki bars are all about ambiance. Hawaii vibes. What's cool about The Great Kanakas Atomic Tiki Bar, outside of their excellent name, is that they're indoors but the bar makes you feel like you're actually outside. I liked the concept. Relaxed with the vibes you would expect at a tiki bar. Service (4.5/5): We sat at the bar and our bartender was attentive and friendly. She even recommended an off-the-menu drink that other folks like which was a nice touch. Food (N/A): I was on a liquid diet so I'm not even sure if they have food. Drinks (4/5): When you're at a tiki bar, you're looking for a creative mix of flavors with a nice presentation. I went with a cocktail with such a cool name that I couldn't say no. You'll know it when you see the menu. It's a long name, sounds very Hawaiian, and you'll have difficulty pronouncing it. You'll get a kick out of it. While the drink were solid, I've seen more elaborate tiki drinks elsewhere. I'm talking the type where fire is evolved or fancy garnishes. Overall: Clear Lake surprisingly has quite a few cool bars. This is one of them.

We tried a couple of drinks, and they were fine, and the bartender was patient and helpful. Perhaps it gets more interesting when it gets busier later at night, and sitting on the patio might be nice when the weather is cooler. This is just not what we're looking for in a cocktail bar, but YMMV..

It's one of the best craft cocktail destinations on the island - and with a tiki flare. It's great to see it open after almost a decade. Happy hour is Mon all day and Tue-Fri 4-7pm with $6 cocktails. Such a deal. They now have a "speakeasy" called the Pineapple Parlor. Barkeep told us there'd be a $6 admission per person; and since the space is small, there's limited seating. We opted to stay inside the DTO area for old fashioneds and Southside ($8 gin, lemon, mint).

A group of Texas Realtors recently descended upon Galveston island for the annual TAR convention Sept 13th, 14th, & 15th. We were all wondering where to go one evening and luckily I was able to recommend this place --- thanks to "Yelp's A Beach" August 18th hot tip. Good- The location is fantastic!! Right next to "the Spot" and it's a stone's throw away from the beach. So the breeze coming off the Gulf in the evening is amazing!! It's the perfect blend of indoor/outdoor, you can choose to sit downstairs at the Margarita bar or upstairs overlooking the water. The multi-colored lighting creates a festive ambience and you can't help but be in a great mood. The decor is not too fancy or shabby either you could come straight from the beach or dress up for a night on the town. Now for the drinks ---- When I walked up to the bar and realized there was a wide selection of delightfully yummy sounding Margaritas to choose from I faced a major dilemma. Not only were there tons of options but also sizes. Unbelievably, you can choose 20oz up to an amazing 100oz-- I am assuming the jumbo size is for sharing with friends or at least one hopes. I finally settled upon the 20oz Margarita Sunrise, but the Mojito RIta was a close second in our group. They both were well made, on the rocks, and a solid 4 out of 5 limes in my book. Bad- You can't order Ritas upstairs, but you can take the ones you buy with you. Ugly- Nothing to report. I absolutely Loved it!!!!! Hope they franchise! I want one of these up on Lake Conroe.

It's a $25 charge if you cancel within 24 hours. If you don't want to make a reservation, they recommend visiting on Wednesdays, Thursdays, or Sundays. Ring the doorbell for entry. If they don't answer immediately, it's most likely because the hostess is seating another guest. I can't remember the hostess's name, but she was so nice and a super cool gal. The vibe is really cool, weird, bizarre, and trippy. We received a welcome drink which was some sort of rum tea. One of the bartenders came over and explained the menu. They have a lot of drinks to choose from and each drink has a story. The drinks are very unique and come with a nice presentation. I really enjoyed the Bitter Bird. Some of our friends joined us later on in the evening and the hostess moved us to a larger table. There were more people than we were expecting, but the staff did a great job of accommodating us.
