Everything was great until Angela, the hygienist, came in to clean my teeth. Beautiful office, lovely views from the rooms, and the dental assistant, Kaylee, is kind, caring and personable. I'm a middle aged woman who has had teeth cleanings at least 1-2 times a year for pretty much my whole life, in addition to lots of fillings, crowns etc. I also brush and floss daily. I'll admit I generally dislike any kind of dental work, but I have never experienced anything so horrific as I did with this hygienist. As she started scaling, she said to let her know if anything hurt, which seems standard and didn't concern me. About a quarter of the way through she was working on an area and it was stinging (and I could taste a little blood) so I let her know that particular spot hurt. No biggie. But she responded defensively, saying that it's bleeding because there is bacteria under the gums etc. Whatever, I wasn't too concerned, but I also hadn't heard any of that before or even had pain during a cleaning before. As she proceeded with the next several teeth I noticed she was going very gently, it was noticeably different. Better than pain I suppose, but I told her to feel free to do what needed to be done as it was just that one tooth that was hurting before. Again she got strangely defensive saying she didn't change anything she was doing etc. Well, I really paid for that last remark. The remainder of the time she used the scaling instrument like a weapon of torture. She began sloppily and aggressively scraping, shredding my gums with the scaler. Blood was filling my mouth and I was spitting straight red into the clear spit tube (several times). I finally told her to stop the cleaning and polish my teeth so I could go. I went to the sink and continued spitting blood. My body was literally shaking, too. By far the most unprofessional and traumatic teeth cleaning experience of my life. read more

I have been under Dr. Miller's care for over 5 years. Let me say that I am not the "easiest" patient at the dentist office. I am very sensitive to anything "dental" related, due to having bad experiences in the past. I have nothing but great things to talk about Dr. Miller and all his staff. Between the front office trying to make my appointments, with my crazy schedule and some issues that I had with a couple of teeth that made Dr. Miller work harder (and probably got some extra gray hair after that), I am just thankful. I am very happy with them, and as long as I am living in this area, I will be visiting them for my oral health. read more

My wife and I have had nothing but trouble with Dr. Miller's work. I had a crown put in about two years ago. His dental assistant did most of the work and he only came in to look at it. Isn't that unethical? She had tons of trouble trying to make it fit. Dr. Miller looked at it and he had to go get the other dentist in the practice to come look at it to see if it was OK. The tooth next to it was sensitive to hot and cold for a year. My wife has just had many thousands of dollars of dental work done for his four year old failed implants. The doctor arranged to make a bridge for her teeth. After many months of work the bridge is finally ready but for over a month my wife hasn't been able to get an appointment to get it put in even though it's already paid for. She and a friend stopped by the office today to see if she could get an appointment and just by chance the dentist was there she asked him if he could get an appointment and he said that's what my office staff is for. My wife said your office staff can't do it without your OK. The conversation degenerated into him yelling at my wife and her friend. I'm so glad she had a witness to this horrible treatment. How unprofessional. Now I have to escort my wife to her dental appointments. Needless to say when this work is done we won't be back. read more

May 4, 2023 I spent 20 minutes in the lobby waiting to have him repair a cracked upper plate. Then an hour and fifteen more in a work room in back waiting for him to show up. They had me pay $3,100 for a new upper plate saying the old one could not be fixed. He looked in on me and assigned an assistant to do computer models for another hour. Then they told me they were using the wrong approach. Took molds and out of the chair in 4 hours fifteen total. Came back in a week. Spent 15 minutes in lobby and another hour before he showed his face. He took new molds and left. For the next hour I listened to him treat 3 different people in the other rooms in the hallway. He stacks them so he can bill everyone for the same time frame. When he came back to my room he said "I have been working on your molds." I said it didn't sound like it. He asked what that meant and I said it looked like I was fourth in line with the others lined up in hallway work rooms. At this time he smashed the new molds on the floor and began screaming at me to get out of his office. The entire time I was getting out of the chair, going down the hall and out the door he was screaming as loud as he could for me to get out of his office and never come back. He is a small man suffering from the little man complex and flies into rages with no reason (judging by my experience and others listed with you). I would stay way clear of this jerk. Another dentist repaired my upper for $95 and made a new upper plate for $1,100. Another reason to ditch this asshat. read more

I've been going to Dr. Miller since he opened his practice in Grass Valley. He has state of the art equipment and a fantastic staff. He has done beautiful crown work on me, and also an implant, and gum surgery using sedation. His assistants are highly trained, and his hygienists the best. I was a dental assistant in my youth, and so can tell you he is an excellent dentist. I highly recommend him. read more

Dr was extremely rude and unprofessional. Talked down to my wife during her treatment and to me after. Requests by my wife for them to call me during the appointment were ignored. Wife felt threatened by the Dr. And the nurse agreed at one point when the Dr. Was out of the room. Do not use this Dr!! read more
