I'm going to kind of double up on this review. Harvest Creek and Pine Creek Ltd pretty much sit…read moreright on top of one another. They are "creeks" separated by a wall but they both have a very similar feel. So similar in fact that I asked my girlfriend... "Do you think these shops might have the same owner?" The atmosphere is low lit and cozy and the collection of merchandise is eclectic. Definitely not something that you run into every day... I'm not sure how to describe the merchandise. Pine Creek offers some seasonal and smaller home furnishing. More leaning to home good. And some items on Harvest Creek you don't necessarily think of when you think Iowa. Some border what you think of when you think wiccan or occult (not in a bad way though)... If I had to guess the owners have their own personal tastes and interests and they stock the shops to align with what they like and hope the market finds them. We really enjoyed looking through both of these little shops and they are ones I would encourage anyone coming through the Winterset area to stop and check out both Harvest Creek and Pine Creek Ltd!

The store has a lot of really nice rustic/repurposed home decor and jewelry. The store is packed with many options and is usually quite busy with shoppers looking for the perfect item to take home with them. Sometimes that can make it hard to get around, but it's always nice to see people drawn to the store and community. It has felt like there have been more manufactured or mass-produced items in the store the last few times I've stopped (versus when they first opened). It's also a little high-priced for me. I looked recently and was surprised to see a Christmas pillow priced at nearly $70, and artwork from a local artisan priced nearly 3 times more than I can buy directly from him at shows. Overall, I love the inspiration that the store provides - I always leave with fun ideas of items I might want to create for my own home.

My pics show many of the displays still being filled but there is still plenty of opportunities for shopping enjoyment. Take your time looking at my pics, and you'll see their great variety. They are part general store, part board game seller, part restaurant plus a bunch of wholesomeness that you aren't going to find in any box store. Everything you need when you think about an old school small town general store that is...it's not freakin' Walmart. Jerry the sales guy was personable, and took care of the tractor. No charge for pickup/return and the prices were less than the Urbandale JD dealership. I certainly wouldn't hesitate to recommend AgriVision/Jerry for any service needs.
