They are "creeks" separated by a wall but they both have a very similar feel. So similar in fact that I asked my girlfriend... "Do you think these shops might have the same owner?" The atmosphere is low lit and cozy and the collection of merchandise is eclectic. Definitely not something that you run into every day... I'm not sure how to describe the merchandise. Pine Creek offers some seasonal and smaller home furnishing. More leaning to home good. And some items on Harvest Creek you don't necessarily think of when you think Iowa. Some border what you think of when you think wiccan or occult (not in a bad way though)... If I had to guess the owners have their own personal tastes and interests and they stock the shops to align with what they like and hope the market finds them. We really enjoyed looking through both of these little shops and they are ones I would encourage anyone coming through the Winterset area to stop and check out both Harvest Creek and Pine Creek Ltd!

When you open the door, you meet a perfectly delightful and friendly shop owner. There is a wonderful variety of merchandise that would please a diverse array of shoppers....jewelry, clothing, kitchen items, large assortment of beautiful French tablecloths, home decor and much more. I bought two great necklaces made from Tagua seeds from Ecuador. I just love them and have received many compliments when I wear them. They are so attractive and unique. I also purchased a gorgeous rectangular French tablecloth in blues and yellows and some cute kitchen towels. In my shopping I also acquired a stylish top with a lacy edge and a fishnet type top to go with it. The shopkeeper also has many artistic wind chimes for your patio. Mine has a metallic dragonfly and colorful beads. If you can't make it to her shop, she also has a stall at the awesome Des Moines Farmers Market every Saturday for 6 months of the year. That's another thing that you should definitely experience! What a great little shop, full of such interesting things! Wish it was in my city!

Atomic Garage is an amazing vintage clothing and vintage store in the trendy area in Des Moines... the owner/manager is super chill and a fun person who takes her vintage clothes seriously. Their selection is awesome and reasonably priced for how rare some of it is. It's definitely a great place to stop in when you're in town... and an even better place to stop in when you need a badass outfit to go to a formal event with. It's super well organized and just an overall fun store to walk around. The only reason I took a star off is because some of the stuff isn't for sale. It's only for rent... and that disappointed me. I don't live in town, so I couldn't rent the incredible options of suits/tuxedos that they sell there.

The owner has expanded and this location holds all types of wonderful items from artists from across the country. The selection is not overwhelming but gives you plenty to look through. I will probably be back for Lego earrings or hope someone I know sees this and knows that I like them. Wink wink. I really love the IOWA love this owner has as do the many artists displayed there. I really fell for the prints that were being displayed and some of the IOWA jewelry up to purchase. Lots of unique gifts for someone who has everything. The layout is modern, clean, and inviting with plenty of natural light, walkways by water features, and a comfortable mix of anchor stores and specialty shops. Parking was plentiful (though busy on peak days) and signage made getting in and out manageable. The mall features over 110 popular retailers including Apple, Anthropologie, Pottery Barn, Sephora, lululemon, and more. We popped into Apple to check out the latest devices, browsed through Anthropologie for a few gift ideas, and also stopped by H&M for casual wear. The variety here means there's something for everyone in the family. The food options were solid too. The food court has familiar favorites; for a more upscale break, restaurants with patios overlooking the lake offer a more relaxing atmosphere. The staff everywhere we encountered them was courteous and helpful, especially in stores where we asked questions. The mall is well maintained, restrooms are clean, and common areas feel well cared for. We appreciated the amenities like stroller or wheelchair rental, device charging stations (outside Apple), and multiple restroom throughout. One thing to be mindful of: some mallgoers report that kiosk vendors by walkways can be overly enthusiastic--if you're not in the mood to be approached, it helps to keep moving.
