The…read moreguys at the front desk were rude, made no attempt at being helpful, and acted like they were being put out when asked questions. They asked if I was looking to rent equipment the same day, which I possibly was, at which point they told me the equipment couldn't be rented same day, was only by appointment, even if the equipment was available. In over 20 years of renting equipment, this was the most unprofessional, unwelcoming, and unhelpful business I've interacted with.

THEY neglected to latch an engine cover when THEY loaded the equipment in their yard, I never even touched the machine before i got home. Natually, it blew off by the time I got home. My fault. I litterally paid for them to break their own equipment. Sad thing is, the guy that loaded the machine was the only pleasant and professional person I encountered. The front desk guy in Grand Ledge is neither pleasant or professional! I'd recommend spending a bit more and renting from a reputable company.

First time was about 3 years ago and there were no issues…read more Rented a seed slitter to put down grass seed on Wednesday April 7th, 2021 and had a totally different experience. After picking up the seed slitter and transporting it to the planned work site, I lifted up the front of the machine to check out the condition under the machine. I normally wouldn't think to do this but just wanted to make sure that the machine was in good condition and that it was ready to go. What I found is depicted in the attached photo. There clearly was no maintenance check done on this machine after the last person who rented it dropped it back off. Rope/binder twine was wound around all of the individual splines and would have prevented the machine from working properly. I had to trailer the seed slitter and head back to my garage to be able to clean all of the rope out of the twines. This mess took me and another person about 1 1/2 hours to remove. Each piece had to be cut with a sharp knife and pulled off with plyers. After doing this, I loaded it up again and headed back to the work area. After using the machine for about 15 minutes, the drive belt came off of the pulley. Had to put it back on the trailer and head back to the garage to have the tools necessary to remove the pulley cover and get the belt back on the pulley. After finishing using the seed slitter, I took it back to the rental center and showed them a bucket full of rope that we had to remove from the splines. They apologized. I asked for a discount due to the issues involved and they declined. No reason provided. I was so tired from the experience that I didn't stay around and argue about it, but it will be the last time I rent anything from them.
