I have camped here a few times because I love the location. My teenage kids like that its close to Great Adventure and a short drive to Point Pleasant Beach. if I could give this place a -0 review, I would it is the worst Campground I have ever the pictures are all lies. The store was not open. There was no water in the swimming pool. It was pure dirt. Most of the campsites had torn out power boxes. The owner was as rude as she could be. almost $100 a night for nothing of the RVs there were people that is nothing but trailer trash campsite it was awful. I was desperate as I had no Generator and I was there for a dog show and I had to make sure my dogs were safe. It was a pigsty potholes in every part of the the grounds. it was as disgusting. The pictures make it look glamorous and like green grass there's not one of green grass look like a beautiful swimming pool. The swimming pool is empty. The store was locked. It was just awful. The very best campgrounds we have stayed at and we stayed here for a full year. The staff is excellent the campgrounds and very clean, well maintained and quiet. The scenery is stunning with all the gorgeous and very tall trees all around. The fees are average for New Jersey and the staff was very friendly and helpful the entire time. read more

We recently stayed at this campground. The campground itself is nice, but the owner is horrible and not worth dealing with. She is constantly looking for a reason to complain. There were many occasions of her scolding children or other campers. She yelled at my son for gathering sticks along the road to use in our fire, stating that we can't be burning those. (Not sure why.) She kept coming into our site and looking around. Also, we had asked to store our camper there for a few hours past checkout and she said that there was no room and that she had no extra sites available. Meanwhile, more than half of the sites in that area were available. So, I agreed with her to pay for an extra night. The next morning, she called stating that we needed to leave by checkout. When I reminded her that we were staying an extra night, she said that we can't because some other people were coming into our site that day... but she did not tell me this when she agreed to us staying an extra day. She kept harassing us to move immediately while we were away at an event. She kept lying and giving different stories to not only us, but to friends of our that were in the same predicament. When we came to get the camper, she was no where in sight and the majority of the campsites were empty near us. We will not be staying here again and will advise our friends of the same. read more

I stayed here for a month. The office was barely ran. Staff wasn't friendly or helpful. Grounds are beautiful and it is very quiet.

This place is a scam. They charge outlandish prices. Electric bill for one month was $583 dollars. My 3300sf home in Florida only runs $150 a month in the summer. To pay almost $600 for a camper is beyond disbelief. These people are price gouging the crap out of people. I would not recommend this place to anyone. It's illegal how they are doing people. This place is the bowels of hell! Truly. First, the owner is VERY rude. He clearly doesn't understand that WIDE angles & overhead clearance are necessary for a truck pulling a 42ft. 5th wheel. Regardless of what they tell you, logistically, this place is NOT maintained well enough to accommodate anything much greater than Class C's. After a debate w/the owner, he finally put us in A-Section. It was supposed to be a pull-thru, but 1) trees at this place are asininely low, growing crooked & so totally unkempt and 2) roads are narrow & terribly destroyed. The only thing you'll be maybe able to pull-thru is something less than a Class C. (Maybe.) Section-A has no sewer hook-ups, so we were told to just empty our grey tank into the grass each day. There are ant mounds EVERYWHERE! WiFi is poor. And if you're expecting any packages to be delivered via USPS during your stay, especially during three weekend, good luck with that. (A) Guests mail is left in a bin on the wall and boxes are just left on a bench OUTSIDE the office. Can you say 'free-for-all'? and (B) When I asked the rude owner if the mailman had delivered the days mail yet, he blankly stared at me and said, "The post office delivers mail on Saturday?" So, that's what you're dealing with here. (Must be side effects from all the chemicals from the grey tanks they allow guests to dump in the grass, has affected his thinking. Or maybe it's what's going on with the dump station. *WARNING: The dump station is a legitimate BIOHAZARD. It was almost full when we pulled up and within a few seconds, it was overflowing onto the concrete pad, and the grey tank totally flooded the entire area, as you can see in the pics I've posted. The Monmouth County Department of Health should be concerned. Or at least the residents of Freehold should be, because those running Freehold, or whomever is in charge of maintaining Georgia Rd., the trees and/or the power lines (?) outside the entrance to this dump, are failing hugely. As we were leaving, we were making a right onto Georgia Rd. out of (but you'll want to also watch if you're making a left into) this "resort," keep alert for 2 sets of low-hanging wires on Georgia Road. They tore off our TV antenna as we were leaving. Actually, I would recommend just finding a Walmart parking lot, a truck stop or just off on the side of the road somewhere and stay there... Your experience with seriously be soooo much more enjoyable than staying at the Pine Cone Resort. read more

My husband and I stayed in one of the two cabins at PineCone Resort. I loved the smell of cedar every time we walked inside the cozy little cabin. The first room had a queen-sized futon with a very thick and comfy pad and nice cover, a coffee table with a "tube" TV, a spacious double, built in wardrobe and a built-in counter/cabinet/sink area, including a microwave and minifridge/freezer. There was also a barstool height chair that seemed a tad out of place, but we found use for it. The second room had another sink and cabinet with a medicine cabinet overhead, along with a built-in bunkbed, full on bottom and twin on top. Across from the bed was a door leading to a room just big enough for a toilet and standup shower with hot and cold faucets (unlike the community showers, where you can adjust the pressure, but not the temperature). We brought our own linens and towels, and the Resort provided toilet tissue for free, as the cabin has a septic tank that gets drained and flushed weekly. The cabin had central heat and air which worked excellently. Outside was a grill and picnic table, and that sweet, covered porch had built-in benches that sat opposite one another. We used our Coleman stove for heating most meals, which was quite nice. The staff were friendly and responsive, often responding the same day a request was made. For instance, they replaced my front door mat, a burned-out light bulb and removed the tube TV (which was pretty bulky for the size of the cabin) with a positive attitude. Flat screen TVs are so cheap nowadays, it might be worth the staff's "back and spine" health to ditch the tube TV. The wifi was spotty, but that is not unusual for RV parks and campgrounds. The area around the cabin was wooded and beautiful. It's very quiet and peaceful. See pictures. read more

Note that almost all of them mention the rude owner, totally true, along with her equally blonde friend who runs the front desk, when the store is open, is equally as rude. Obviously they don't read their reviews, or more than likely just don't care. The store, as others mentioned as well, is very rarely open on time. The washer/dryers as others mentioned as well, are very expensive and the machines are old and don't work well. The seasonal campers that have been there for years, some as long as 15 years are all leaving in droves since Arnie no longers runs the business, his wife does and she is extremely nasty, rude, and obtuse. We were seasonal campers as well for 4 years, turned our small site into a premium site and made many upgrades, yet, after they rented our seasonal site out to FEMA employees over the winter, they left their garbage in our site and the owner attempted to blame us for that. Clearly we weren't even there over the winter. We cleaned up the winter tenants garbage after they used our site and because we could not return this summer only, due to personal issues, and made it clear that we wanted to come back next year, the owner turned vicious, blamed us for bottles and garbage her winter tenants left, and kept our deposit, even though she brags how 'people are waiting in line for my sites'. Way to go to run a business, to alienate your good, long time seasonal campers who did nothing but go out of their way to help, when they needed it.... We tried to keep it amicable so we could return however we will not come back as we are tired as well of the rude, nasty behavior and will no longer overlook it. The electrical service is sub-par, we fixed our own electric service for them, we fixed the owners electrical service at their personal camper, as well. And still, we got in return her nasty attitude and lies.. The electric is not adequate, in the summer time, you may not be able to run your AC, as we had issues with for 2 years until WE fixed it by digging a 200 foot trench and running new electrical lines for them, , but they'll tell you that the power company 'turned down the electric service', or 'they're full and eveyone's using electric'. What good is having electric and AC if you can't use it when you need it in the summer because they refuse to fix it? Just excuses for not wanting to spend money to ensure you can have electric you pay for, and use it in the summer months when needed. Go there on a holiday weekend and see if you can run your A/C, probably not... There are no activities here, no amenities other than a pool and a tennis court. The store's posted hours are hardly ever adhered to, you can't get something you may need until someone decides to show up. There is no garbage pickup, you have to dump your own garbage. Unless you like rude people who don't care, go somewhere else. read more

I stayed in one of the cabins for a week, and rented a tent site for just one night. I found the staff to be very kind and helpful, and made our stay a really good one. The pool was very, very clean as were the bathrooms and laundry rooms. The grounds were immaculate, and I always saw people going around doing landscaping, etc.. I would only make a few suggestions: While the cabin prices were fair, I did think that $46 was a little steep for the tent site, but it is close to the Jersey Shore, so most are like that. It would be great if they added a few garbage cans near the pool/playground area as well as maybe towards the back of the resort. The laundry was a little pricey, but there are other local options not far away. It is convenient to have it there if you need it though. All in all, for the area, it's really the best option in my opinion. We will definitely be back! read more

At the end of the day, it's a campground. I'm not sure what more people expect. Growing up, to me, camping was done in a tent and you battled whatever elements you encountered. Now, people "camp" in the luxuries of a glorified second home. I've summered here for many years, and get along just fine with everyone who works there, as I generally keep my nose out of their business. I can't recall ever having received a hard time from anyone who works there. Most people who get their nose bent out of shape, have done so on their own accord. read more

My advice is do not go to this campground. They are rude and very unfriendly. I made a reservation for a Friday night one week earlier. They charged me $25 on my credit card for canceling and told me I needed two weeks notice for a cancellation. I was not told that by the man on the phone when making the reservation and then the lady had told me that he has short-term memory issues and probably forgot to tell me the rules. He should not be taking reservations if he has memory issues. I think it's very unfair to do that to a repeat customer. I will never go back and will tell everyone that these people are not friendly and not fair to their customers. Poor business skills! read more
