Pinchos was a cool experience. Since I've just moved back to Sweden from the Netherlands I'd totally missed the whole thing with this famous Pinchos-thing. I just kept on seeing my fellow instagrammers tagging themselves there. So, imagine my surprise when a friend secretly took me lunching there. Et voilá, all of a sudden I found myself in their dark, mysterious circus environment.
So, the atmosphere was really something, like I mentioned, it was dark and the interior really made it feel like I traveled 100 years back and ended up in a circus. It wasn't necessarily super fresh there, but hey, I guess that made it even more authentic.
So the whole thing I guess with this restaurant is that you order everything with an app. Boy, they really did it when they had that food-shot. The pictures are temptation it self. Especially the pictures of the cocktails. So anyway, you get a number for your table that you use in the app and then you just start using your fingers and order. And within minutes (yes!) you get a text to your phone that you can pick up your food or drinks. Super easy. The only negative with this was the problems to mention your food allergies. But if you have more common allergies than I do (let's say gluten, dairy etc) there is actually information in the app about it.
The staff was really sweet, they came and asked a lot if everything was fine, they helped me out with my son, they picked up when we left like 50 wet wipes from my son's lunch (and didn't even give me the stink eye), so yeah, great service. I'd say they were ok with kids having a changing table in the bathroom and highchairs for the tables if needed.
The food was good, it wasn't great. I'd compare it to pub food, maybe a tad better. But the cocktails. They were a dream come true. Yes, all that a girl can wish for when imagining a cocktail night (or lunch in this case).
All and all, I will come back for the cocktail and the in the right way-dubious atmosphere, but maybe not for the food. read more
