    Korean Krispy Chicken Sandwich
    Joshua K.

Pin Pan Pollo is an AMAZING chicken wing and sandwich pop-up started by two Miami-loving locals as a passion project who's goal is to give everyone a taste of Miami and ultimately create a tighter knit community through their efforts. We got the opportunity to try them out outside of the J. Wakefield brewery in Wynwood, and wow! Their food is truly a labor love. These are some of the best (meatiest and crispy) wings and chicken sandwiches we've ever had at any price point! Everything is double fried and super saucy. The Korean-flavored wings and sandwich are pretty self-explanatory-- this is a favorite of many people, having a combination tangy and spicy-but-no-too-spicy flavor profile with an excellent crunch coming from the double fried chicken, scallions, and sesame seeds. There's a lot going on with this texture-wise and it's excellent! However, Pin Pan Pollo is known for their Guayaba Y Queso flavored selections. To put it simply, THIS is the taste of Miami in a chicken wing! These flavored wings taste exactly how they sound, with a sweet sauce and cheesy dip Where else can you get a Guayaba Y Queso flavored chicken wing or sandwich? Oh my gosh! If there is one thing you try from this pop-up, it is this truly unique iteration of their wings and sandwich. Other chicken wing/sandwich serving establishments need to step their game up! We will be back at their future pop-ups, and whatever they will inevitably grow into. This is an amazing concept! Congratulations to its founders; they are on to something! PS: they run a great Miami-centric podcast called "Pero Let Me Tell You". Give it a listen!

When I tried their wings, I instantly fell in love. The guys were so amazing and recommended us the Santero chicken sandwich and it was delicious! Amazing service! Great vibe! The do pop ups, so you gotta follow them on Instagram

Pin Pan Pollo are definitely the best wings in Miami, super friendly and attentive to your order always. If you guys want amazing and big wing's definitely try them out. Their guava wings are super addictive and if you are lucky enough you'll get a chance to try the amazing elote wings they do!

There is limited street parking which can be a bit of a challenge but the setting is so lovely that it is worth it. Admission to the market place is free. It was advertised as having 52 vendors and I would guess there wasn't even half of that. The vendors that were there sold sunglasses, clothing, second hand items, home services like gutters, and jewelry. My favorite vendor was Carolyn who sold second hand jewelry on the porch of the New River Inn. I loved poking through her treasures. She got all my money and I left with an opal ring, silver chain, and two pendants. Bring cash with you because some vendors like Carolyn do not accept cards. The event was advertised as having food and the only vendor I saw was Taco Baja selling tacos. There are a ton of restaurants in the area if the on site food is not to your liking. The museum is open during the market and adults can tour for $15. The New River Inn was built in 1905 and was one of Ft. Lauderdale's earliest hotels. History Ft. Lauderdale operates several historic buildings in this one area. The New River is very picturesque and it is a great place to take a stroll even if there is nothing going on. I enjoyed my market visit. These types of outdoor markets are very popular now and I think the great location has the potential to make this market a major event, especially if they add some more food and merchandise vendors.

I was happily surprised at the authenticity of the "OG viet deli" option. It came with ingredients like cha lua and head cheese. I also love pate and this sandwich was absolutely packed with it. It was finally topped with tiny red chillis instead of the jalapenos I usually see in the US which I prefer since the pack a spicy punch. Though the sandwich was definitely not as spicy as I'm used to. The bread is also way thicker than I'm used to but it was fresh. I could not eat it until a while later and yet because it was all cold cuts, the sandwich was still quite good. Overall very well put together and service was friendly. My one qualm is that it is way more expensive for banh mi than I'm used to so this would be more of a place to go if I wanted to treat myself.

I am not sure if some of the vendors already packed up but it looked like it. There was one huge tent and then one line of vendors outside. I mainly saw jewelry but here were also hummel figurines, depression glass and other assorted odds and ends. The vendors that were there were ready to wheel and deal. A lot of them were asking people to just make an offer and one women was offering and entire box of baubles for a dollar each. I was looking for some vintage pyrex but I didn't see any. If you want the best selection come when they open at 9 AM. I overheard some of the vendors say that they sold a lot of things earlier in the day. If you are just looking to perhaps snag a deal come close to 4 when the vendors are looking to sell rather than pack it up, The next fair is February 16th.
