The verdict is still out on Pilgrim Heating & Air and I should note that this review will be modified if they resolve my issues within reason. I am in the middle of trying to get them to address numerous concerns that I have had about my entire HVAC system which is only six months old as my house is newly built. Long story short is they were hired by my builder and between the two decisions were made without my consent and in contravention to common building practices known to other builders that I have spoken to. Pilgrim continues to maintain their stance that they were hired by the builder and not me, so therefore they did what the builder asked them to do despite the fact that it was likely against their better judgement. I have had my system reviewed by two independent companies that provide energy audits and both were surprised by the system that was put into my home. Both of these same companies provided consultation and advice to my builder and Pilgrim during the building of the home. That advice was not heeded and not followed by Pilgrim because as they continue to say, "We were hired by the builder, not you". The guys that come to your house are great and I have no issues with them. If I had to criticize, it would be that they do little to educate the homeowner and offer little consultation for the benefit of the homeowner. More often than not they will say that they were "just doing what we were told". It's 2015 and with the current state of customer service in this world, this attitude doesn't make any sense unless your only goal is to keep your job. I can tell you that the office staff doesn't care for me too much and called me "unreasonable" simply because I continue to call them because they have been slow to react in solving my issues. One of my issues is a $360 PSO bill in a 3,700 sqft house that is fully foamed. My bill is $200 higher than my neighbor who has a 6,000 sqft home with traditional insulation. In addition, the representative said "I can't wait for your warranty period to be over". As I mentioned, I am going to be fair and give them every opportunity to make things right and start working for me and not my builder. IF Pilgrim solves my issues in a timely manner and to our satisfaction, I will revisit this review and offer praise where and if the situation warrants.
If you care to discuss anything in detail or hear how my family's health and finances have been impacted as a result of my home's HVAC system, feel free to reply back to me and I will provide you my phone number. I can also share videos of my experience, as I have kept many. It is a very interesting story. When you tell your HVAC contractor that your wife and son have had a number of nosebleeds and other weird never known before issues as a result of the air quality in your home, you would expect them to move quickly... wouldn't you?
P.S. The owner just called me today 8/26/15 and told me to F*** off and that he wouldn't touch my house again even though it's under warranty. He went on to say that his wife hates me as well. They are upset because I won't cover an invoice that is owed to them by my builder. They have made no attempt to collect directly from the builder as it is probably easier to get it from the homeowner. That way they can hold me hostage and not provide warranty work. read more
