This is the worst Pilates experience I have ever had. It is a dark cramped room in the back of a chiropractor's office. The equipment is portable as the instructor moves it in and out per class and it is the cheapest Pilates equipment I have never personally seen, flimsy and uncomfortable.
This was a beginner class and several of us had injuries that we were there to rehab. However she did not ask me until halfway through the class if I had injuries and when I told her I did she just moved on. She provided little instruction, guidance or corrections to anyone throughout the class. The woman on one side of me had only taken one Pilates class before. She had to continuously look at other students to see what she was supposed to be doing. The woman on the other side of me was wearing socks throughout the entire class. If you know anything about Pilates you are not to wear socks during any part of the routine as it is extremely easy to slip and fall and injure yourself. The teacher did not take time to explain any of the exercises in depth and it appeared she was trying to get us through the routine as quickly as possible. Instead of paying attention to form and precision it was like a race.
I have been taking Pilates on and off for over 10 years, and I have never seen anything like this. In my opinion anyone with an injury, who needs rehab, or who does not have previous Pilates experience, should not go to this studio. It would be very easy to injure yourself. There are other Pilates studios in Denver that are more expensive, but now I see they are worth it. I have sessions left on the package I purchased, but I will never go back. read more
