She's fantastic!…read more I am not someone who loves to work out, yet ever since I started going to Rei Pilates a few months ago, I find myself coordinating my calendar around how many times I can get there in a week. Something about the tone and vibe of the place (and Rei herself) is energizing. The workout is awesome. I've take pilates at numerous other studios and Rei's classes are the best. Her techniques and moves are fun, efficient, and effective. She switches it up and has you do just enough reps where you feel it working without pushing it to be painful and unpleasant. I've seen more results going to her classes for 6 months than I have in years of going to other studios. And she plays great music which makes the time fly by! The studio itself is clean, modern and bright. She has the new reformers which are sleeker and easier to use than the chunky older ones at other places. (She also stocks the cutest athletic clothes, which are fun to browse after a good workout.) Highly recommend!

She was so helpful to my daughter…read more(who's in great shape) and me (not so much) and was able to provide us with a routine that was both challenging and safe despite our dramatic physical differences. I also brought a girlfriend from out of town who's been taking pilates classes for years and she loved this one! Rei was very patient and very positive and provided me with information about how I should modify certain exercises based on my (hopefully temporary) physical limitations. Kerry was the instructor and I really enjoyed her class , so much that I booked her class again this past weekend . I was new to Pilates so she was really great the first class since it was only four of us she was able to pay a little more attention to my form etc which was very nice of her . I was impressed with how sore I was the following day , I work out 5-6 times a week with a trainer but this class really focuses on all those hard to reach areas like inner thighs , core . The studio is beautiful and very clean , the staff is warm and welcoming . I travel all the way from the north shore of Long Island to join these classes , that's how much I enjoy them ! Love this place…read more Pilates is a tricky sport as it actually becomes harder as you progress. Those new to fitness will feel the burn after your first class but for more athletic people, it takes a while to find proper alignment and really engage those muscles. You know you found it when your thighs start crying. Everyone who works there has been super nice and all have a good sense of humor. They are very helpful, good at observing detail and nobody's mean if you can't do the pose 100%. The clientele have a sense of camaraderie, rather than competition. Great studio.

I never want to set foot in the place again and they refuse to refund my money. It is also very difficult to book classes unless you have an unlimited membership. When you complain about this they are very rude and say "it is like that everywhere". If you can't book classes without an unlimited membership then that is all they should offer.

One instructor, Dorothy, has put me down for modifications that other instructors have taught me in private lessons. So I use them. She put me down before the class, so I emailed the owner. NO ANSWER for two weeks. She said they gave sensitivity training. So today, I took one of Dorothy's classes for the first time since then (I had no choice away for the next few days, and there was only one there today), and the same thing happened. Today, she told me I was doing everything wrong in front of everyone. She also rolled her eyes at me a few times. I am in my 50s and have problems, maybe more than most, but I should not have to feel embarrassed. I realize it's a business, and money comes first, but they need to have this sensitivity training and not just say they are. So, if you have any ailments of any kind, be careful which class you go to or go to another pilates place that trains their staff on sensitivity.

They do not answer their phone and do not accept voicemail, so there is no way to reach anyone in real time if something goes wrong. If you have time blindness, executive function challenges, ADHD, Cptsd, or a highly sensitive nervous system, this studio is not designed with you in mind. It is not trauma-informed, and the environment does not accommodate neurodivergence in any meaningful way. For those who need consistency and predictability, it's also worth knowing they have modified the traditional hot yoga sequence -- so what you practice here may not be what you expect. The waitlist system is also poorly communicated; you may not know you've been moved from a class you reserved until it's too late to plan around it. Beyond logistics, the atmosphere feels cold and unwelcoming -- though I'll leave it to others to determine how much of that is the studio versus the region. This studio is BUSINESS FOCUSED rather than CUSTOMER focused, which contributes to the stressed, unfriendly state of the world today. My favorite part is the different types of classes you can take, so it's not just original hot yoga but other types as well along with HIIT of course! This makes it fun to switch it up and also take a couple of classes in a row if you wanted, since they schedule different ones back to back. Another hugeeeee plus for me is that they have early morning classes and late at night if you slept through the morning ones like I often do LOL (along with late morning/ mid day, early evening etc). Additionally, the staff is nice & welcoming and I oftentimes see instructors paying extra attention/TLC to newcomers If you're a hot room lover then deff come to Yoga Freak ASAP!!!!

I hate scamming businesses that make it difficult to cancel. Equinox is apparently one of these…read moresleazy gyms that handcuff members to the treadmill. I moved out of state and wanted to cancel. I called and was told I can't simply cancel by phone or email (why not?) and that I would have to speak to a manager who would be calling me in the next day or two. Several weeks later still no call. When I looked online I discovered that policies that make cancellation or freezing membership difficult for customers have a long history at Equinox. For example, a 2014 class action suit addressed this issue.
