The care they put in the sessions is incredible, it creates a high level of trust with the teacher, you don't find this everywhere. Obviously it could've been better but due to the vibe I received from her, based on a single response (and yes, that first impression matters, at least to me), this just ain't it and honestly that's perfectly OK! I just wish I didn't make the mistake spending nearly $500 for the package in the first place. I see how this is being run and hey, you do you. It's your business. But if you want every single customer to be happy whether or not they choose to go to your studio, then communicate kinder. Not every person likes type A's that couldn't care less about a customer's feelings because they simply care more about getting money instead. Again, my mistake. I'm sorry for signing up, Shannon. *PS. Not everyone reads every single detail listed in the policy -- I initially booked from excitement and without thinking or fully reading what's in the policy, but again, it's my fault for that lol sigh.

It is important that I cultivate the Pilates Habit! as I have some fragile bones in my hip, an issue with balance, and for sure poor posture from fifteen years of writing at my computer. I am now conscious of my posture while at the computer, practice expanding my breathing most every day and squeeze my core muscles when I am walking. I find Grace in be a daily presence in my life as she inspires me to practice what she is teaching.. Every time I work with Grace, she is positive, warm, and consistent in teaching exercises to help with my issues. Grace is a great teacher as she can key into what works to help you learn. I have found her to be an amazing Pilates teacher with physical therapy skills. Grace is 100% focused on delivering a service and does not push sessions on you. Each time I take home my list of exercise which help me in my practice. Due to the fact I have deadlines on my book, she has been flexible with my Pilates schedule. Grace is skilled at adding in just enough to improve my routine but does not overdo it. I think Grace is one of the best Pilates teachers in the area and my MD is thrilled I'm making progress with the pain issues. I overdid it weight lifting but am now back to normal thanks to Grace!! The final benefit of working with Grace is that you get to work in a private room and can focus because there aren't other people around. I came in…read moreafter a microdiscectomy I had over a year ago which up until a few months ago was doing well with no lower back pain then all of a sudden I could feel it coming back - I SO did no want to go the western medicine route AGAIN (for financial, physical and mental reasons!); so I decided to try pilates. Chris is the REAL deal and he and Sonia are truly professionals in the field! Not only has Chris completely worked with me and gotten rid of the back pain, I am continuing to see him because I can tell that the work he is doing with me is completely transforming my body alignment and overall posture, strength, endurance and overall body function. He knows the body so well and has expertise to know and understand what people's needs and ability and capability are to push you to the next level. My mind is starting to FINALLY connect with my body and I am applying the principles I have learned from Chris into my 'every day life' and am so much more aware of how I carry my body and how the strength in my core is key to carrying my body in the right way in my every day activities. People may be hesitant to 'spend so much money' on something like private or semi-private pilates classes; but I can tell you I would SO much rather be giving my hard earned money to Sonia and Chris' studio and invest in my personal physical and mental well being than to a medical carrier or medical facility or medical claims! Please give them a try. Invest in yourself. Sonia and Chris will take great care of you and can improve your quality of life in ways I don't think every they realize they do for everyone they work with daily!

I realized I could perform these exercises for the rest of my life. Pilates would help me strengthen, tone, create length, and most of all keep me mobile and feeling good in my body. Elizabeth knows her stuff. Her classes give you an effective workout, while she watches over each individual and continually encourages the proper techniques. I liked that - but, make sure your classes are with her. I haven't found the same true with other instructors at her studio. Sadly, many classes went 60 minutes without me ever breaking out in a sweat. And it was often more of muscle building workouts, with less core focus. I was lucky if I got a reformer that was adjusted properly. The instructor usually couldn't figure out how to fix the ropes...maybe they needed to be better maintained. This almost always impeded on a smooth flow- leading to jerky, uneven movements which left me in pain and all out of alignment. I was paying too much money for equipment that was hurting me. Parking isn't the greatest. You may find street parking, otherwise you have to park by the Goosetown bar. I wasn't thrilled by that either.

I can't say enough good things about Janel. When I met her, I was discouraged after years of…read moreinjuries that left me with a strained relationship with exercise. Even walking could be uncomfortable at times. I'd heard Pilates could rebuild strength from the inside out, so I gave it a try -- and that's how I found Janel. Nearly a year later, I'm genuinely amazed by the progress. I feel stronger, more capable, and, most importantly, more in tune with my body. Janel doesn't just coach you through a session; she teaches you how to understand your body and troubleshoot when something feels off. She empowers you to listen, learn, and take ownership of the process. Today, I can comfortably walk 16,000 steps a day, keep up with my gym routine, and be active in ways I hadn't thought possible for a long time. It sounds dramatic, but she truly gave me my life back. Janel is patient, thoughtful, and kind, but also appropriately tough. She holds you accountable without ever hovering, and that balance has made all the difference for me. I would wholeheartedly recommend Janel to anyone recovering from injury or simply looking to move through life with more strength and confidence.

I continue to do my mat pilates almost every day (which is also important). Janel is the best. She helped me work through my problem and it has stuck. Thanks, Janel.

I've been taking classes with Sandra at Silver Creek Pilates for over a month now, and I can…read morehonestly say she's the reason I've become so hooked on Pilates. I've never really been into fitness before, aside from trying mat Pilates at home for a few months in college, and I started out feeling pretty weak and not very athletic. Sandra has completely changed that for me. She is incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and attentive. She's taught me how important proper form and breathing are, and I've learned more in a month than I ever expected. The studio itself is always very clean, and with only six reformers, the classes feel intimate and focused. I never feel lost or overlooked, which can easily happen in larger classes. Sandra takes the time to correct form and adjust weights for each person (if needed), and it's clear she genuinely cares about her students' progress. She's even offered helpful advice outside of class, like encouraging me to eat more protein to support muscle recovery and practice ankle strengthening exercises. I also want to give a shoutout to Angela, another instructor at the studio. I've taken a class with her as well - she was fantastic and helped me become more mindful of my knee locking tendencies. I started going once a week, then gradually increased my schedule, and now I happily attend classes three times a week. Pilates has become such an important part of my routine that I can't imagine going a week without it. I even hesitate to plan vacations in fear of missing class xD I truly can't recommend this studio enough! It's made a lasting impact on how I view fitness and my overall health.

I've been athletic and active pretty much my entire life, but I had never tried Pilates. I initially went mainly to support my wife and to do something different together. After the session, I was genuinely surprised by how challenging and effective Pilates was. With all my years of being an athletic, I've never experienced anything quite like it when it comes to isolating specific muscle groups and really challenging the core. Sandra was extremely knowledgeable and did an excellent job explaining what we were doing and, more importantly, why we were doing it. She was able to demonstrate the full range of benefits of Pilates and show us how the exercises work muscles you may not normally focus on or even realize need to be trained. I could actually feel the difference during the session. What really stood out was Sandra's her self and her ability to teach. She paid close attention to our form and technique while explaining how each movement contributes to strength, stability, flexibility, and core control. She didn't just tell us about the benefits of Pilates--she showed us and let us experience them firsthand. I went into the session not really knowing what to expect, and I left with a completely different appreciation for Pilates. Sandra made the experience challenging, informative, and enjoyable. If you've never tried Pilates, I would highly recommend taking a session with Sandra. I'll definitely be going back for additional sessions. After just one session, I understand why people rave about what benefits it offers.
