Inn at Clearwater Pond - Relax in our very spacious Family Room

The Inn at Clearwater Pond was excellent, I am so glad we decided to snap up the Eversave when we…read moresaw it. The innkeeper was very friendly and personable and I highly recommend staying here if you are visiting the area. The main building has four guest quarters on the second floor. We had a HUGE room complete with sitting area, large windows and a spacious adjoining bathroom. The rest of the main building consisted of a large entry room, receiving room with lots of Vermont products for sale, kitchen, dining, game room, and a larger family type room. The whole house was surrounded by deep wrap around porches. There is also a cottage with two additional guest quarters, barns, a screened gazebo, a swimming pond full of frogs, horses, and some additional outbuildings. The property backs up to Quechee Gorge. Breakfast was different and very tasty each day. The first day was a spinach and egg dish, served with granola, fruit, coffee and yogurt. The second day was stuffed baked french toast with the same accompaniments. The innkeeper made reservations for us for dinner the second night we were there, just another great touch. The decor of the rooms was a little more modern than most B&Bs and I rather enjoyed it. Our room was outfitted with two nice leather chairs with ottomans, a substantial king sized bed with white, red and black linens, and some interesting artwork (little pewter and copper figurines on a shelf, etc). Such a nice time, I think we will splurge next summer at full price to get a weekend away here.

Best of all were her delicious homemade breakfast, made with love you could taste! At the end of the trip we felt like we had spent the weekend with family. We will be returning soon!

I have almost forgotten how wonderful it can be to stay in a great B&B, and this one certainly…read morerestored my passion for it -- and then some. From the street it looked like a charming New England B&B and there are plenty of those in the area. What sets this particular one apart, in my opinion, are the following: * At the back of this charming home is a beautifully crafted, lush garden with a hammock and benches placed in strategic nooks designed for optimal book-reading or daydreaming. At the top of the small hill is a pergola -- for more daydreaming, or if you are a bride-to-be looking for a romantic venue, this tops the cake. * The added bonus: you get your own entrance to a walking trail (please see picture below) that connects to a network of trails. It's beautiful now in the the summer time. I imagined how much more beautiful it will be in autumn. I must come back. * The breakfasts are to die for!! Imaginative and definitely gourmet. BTW, I had stayed in some expensive hotels before (the Four Seasons, etc.) -- in my opinion, this B&B's breakfast is better. Way, way better. On my first day, the second course was freshly-baked frittata with a side of steamed kale and zucchini -- picked from their garden. The cheese had just the right gooey to it, and the eggs were fluffy. Day 2: French-toasted croissant filled with creamy custard and drizzled with maple-orange syrup. Yum! * The Owner, Lynn is a wonderful person who had lived in Brattleboro for a very long time and knows its ins and outs -- from where to get great cheese to Brattleboro's unique home architectures. Engaging when a guest needed help and wonderfully welcoming. Yet, I always felt I had my privacy. She has mastered how to be a great host. BTW, the rooms are clean and well kept with a touch of history and modern amenities -- for example: I had a double shower head (a rain shower and a handheld). One last thing: In a hotel or an Airbnb, I always felt unsafe -- locked and double locked. In contrast, in the three days that I stayed here, I left my windows open at night to feel the cool evening breezes from the garden, and during the day, I left my door unlocked while I ate breakfast at the dining room. Priceless. I would come back for the breakfast, or the garden and walking trails, or the wonderfully warm, welcoming atmosphere -- better still, get all three. This one is definitely worth going back to again and again whenever I find myself looking for a great place to stay in Vermont. Highly recommended!

We were in awe of the home, the decor, the homemade desserts, the little touches that made our trip very special. The day before, my husband picked up a big 22-pound bird that had just been butchered a few days ago. It was so fresh that I had a few tiny feathers floating around in my brine. It was so fresh that I could just barely separate the skin from the breast meat to rub in the butter and fresh thyme, which the Girls also so generously provided. It was so fresh I didn't really have to tie together the legs or pin down the wings. It was so fresh that you could *taste* it. And this was (or had been) one healthy turkey! You could tell by the quality of the skin, the texture of the uncooked meat, the size of the bones!!! Man, this turkey had been doing some weight-bearing exercises or something! Huge leg bones. Wings you could make a meal of. I can't wait to taste the broth. Yet the meat was as tender as it was flavorful. Now, with fresh turkey from a farm, you're gonna want to brine it. My 22-lb bird fit in the brining bag from the grocery store beautifully. I put in 1.5 cups of salt, a cup of sugar, and about 2 gallons of water, and I let her sit for about 18 hours. I rinsed her real well; patted her dry; stuffed her with onion, carrots, and celery; covered her with a pound of bacon; wrapped her up tightly in tinfoil; and then I let her roast at 425 degrees for about 3 hours, unwrapped her, and let her brown for about 30 more. Perfect. Tomorrow I'm making turkey pot pie and turkey stock--with locally grown carrots, onions, garlic, and celery. I love knowing that my turkey had been well-cared for and loved, that she is about as organic as you can get, and that her purchase supported my favorite local farm girls. And my guests loved that tender, tasty turkey.

If no one is available to show me where items are in the disorganized room or to help me use my credit card, I would be at a loss. Prices were high, as they should be, but convenience should be elevated as well. Good luck to them as they sort these issues out.

We absolutely never expected the art installations across the grounds -- including 18 x 26-foot Egyptian statues! The art and decor were eclectic and unexpected, and I found them very intriguing. It's definitely not your traditional resort, but that's what we liked about it. And the statues made for an amazing night with smores by the fire pit! The Reunion House was spacious -- we particularly enjoyed the living room, as it gave us enough room to comfortably host the other half of our family (about 25 of us) for a casual birthday party. There was plenty of seating with cozy leather sectionals and two large dining tables that seated about 8-10 people each. My daughter loved playing the piano in the living room, and the rooms downstairs with the daybeds were a great place for the kids to hang out and watch TV together. (The galley kitchen is a little small, but we were aware of this ahead of time because it was mentioned on their website.) We were there during a massive heat wave and all the air conditioners worked very well and kept us cool. Our kids loved the volley ball/badminton area steps away from our house. The outdoor pool is beautiful and it was so wonderful to be able to gather there easily with our whole family. The innkeepers were friendly and helpful. And we enjoyed looking around the mansion as well. There was so much do to in nearby Manchester -- great restaurants and shops, the bookstore is fantastic. We also enjoyed the ropes course and alpine slide at Bromley Mountain. We can't wait to return next year -- we'll be staying at one of the other properties even closer to my extended family's rental house and I'm so excited for its private balconies, jacuzzi tubs, and even more beautiful mountain views!

The grounds are beautiful, serving as an outdoor sculpture garden, perfect for strolling or meditation. The main house was rented out for the weekend, so we were unable to go inside, but Melissa graciously offered to give us a quick tour when we checked out (contactless, as was the check-in), so we had the opportunity to meet Melissa, as well as the "doggie concierge" Jetson, and sampled some muffins baked on the premises. Top-notch service and hospitality, would love to return in the warmer seasons!

Yes, it's an inn so small and a bit older, but that just adds to the cozy charm and makes it a perfect northern getaway. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the heated bathroom floor, towel warmer, and shower jets were such a nice touch. We were even welcomed with warm cookies waiting in the room. Breakfast is included and made fresh. You choose your options ahead of time, which was great. The TV in the room is small, but it fits the cozy vibe. There are plenty of books and games in the lobby and extra room for entertainment. One small note, I'd recommend staying in an upstairs room, as some of the floorboards creak and I imagine the sound carries to rooms below. Since we were only there for a short time, we mainly interacted with Peter at the bar and he was fantastic. He even added something to my drink to make it sweeter. I would absolutely stay here again on my next Okemo trip and would love to try dinner next time too.

We entered the quaint lobby and followed the signs to the dining room where we were greeted by several friendly and helpful employees. They offered us a seat at the bar while they prepared out table and I had an amazing smoked old fashioned. We were seated shortly and from there on, the evening just kept exceeding expectations. Our waiter was really exceptional. I can't recall his name but he made the night extra special. We started with spicy tuna bites where we great and a perfect size for an appetizer. I had the surf and turf special which was really great. I sampled some of my husband's NY Strip and it was also very nice. We tried to save room for dessert and I had an exceptional peanut butter bar. That was awesome. My better half had a pistachio brulee cheesecake. It had a good flavor but I thought the texture was too soft, but to be honest is was good. It just didn't meet the same level as everything else. The atmosphere the whole night was wonderful. The place as low ceilings and there were a lot of tables so I thought it might be too loud but it was perfect. The hospitality oozed warmth, every person I interacted with was lovely and we left with big smiles on our faces. If we'd run into anyone coming into dinner as we were leaving, I'm sure we would have told them to enjoy their meal as well. Highly recommend Weathersfield Inn for a meal.

Wear your shower shoes!) Later after leaving being blamed for a "stain" on the unused comforter that was packed away. Upon leaving I'm told there's an issue with our cabin. It needed a deep clean due to "too much dog hair" so much so that after only 8 days broke the (hopefully regularly) emptied staff vacuum. Even after passing our visual inspection, when we were only asked to keep the hair on the furniture and floors to a minimum. Not spit-shine the facility. For "whatever reason" this deep clean was needed after us, but still happened to miss the used q tips on the living room floor before we arrived even after having such a "strenuous inspection". We were required to know every unwritten rule. But all the while there are people not picking up after their dogs, breaking beds and leaving a giant yellow piss rings around the toilet that will be welcomed back warmly.
