There's no better feeling than walking into a well lit and stocked plant nursery. Of course I brought a plant or two, it's a healthy beautiful addiction... . But this location is laid out nicely, pretty decent selection of plants, although I feel like the Camellia location has more and every square foot is covered w/ greenery. The only small issues I have is there fertilizer and plant health section isn't very big or diverse. ** I also recommend verifying the cost of their pots at checkout, the final cost doesn't always match the sticker price and you may find yourself paying more than you expected. I've been purchasing Cole's Hot Meals here at Pikes for years. (Squirrels don't like it, birds do). I walk up to the counter with 2 10lb bags. 44.99 each I laid them on the counter the younger clerk asked if they were the same. I said yes. I paid for the 2 bags and before I picked them up she said, are they the same and moved the top one to check. The bags of seed look exactly the same. No other bird seed looks even similar. As she looked, she smiled and said, just checking. I went to my car and thought, either she thinks I'm a thief or stupid. So, I'm sitting here now writing this. I looked on Amazon and for the 2 bags they would be around 10.00 cheaper. I like shopping at locally owned places but I'm not interested in being thought of that way. So I'll be getting in from Amazon from now on. Then people wonder why they loose business. read more

This particular location is staffed with mostly "experienced" knowledgable employees who can actually answer your questions and who are happy to help, which is a much more pleasant experience than the nearby Lowe's, where no employees can ever be found in the garden section. Don't waste your time at Lowe's or HD, just start your process at this Pike's and save yourself a headache. read more

I had a jade plant for several years & noticed some type of infestation.. once I dropped it off for repotting & consultation, it did have an infestation of sorts! Horrible customer service. They do the absolute least to help. This is the 3rd time that I've tried to shop this location and I wanted to redo my opinion thinking that it was just a fluke, a bad day or just one employee who makes this a awful place. But to try to buy ANY plants, shrubs or other lawn care items is an ordeal. I have been at different times and encountered different employees but they are all the same. Don't spend your money here. Go to the mom & pop nurseries for a better experience including money savings because Pike is overpriced as well! read more

Really beautiful nursery with lots of beautiful items to choose from as well as flowers and plants. The prices are a bit higher than Home Depot and Lowe's but sometimes they run great deals. I bought my Japanese Maple there and it is the high light of my front yard. So much so that 4 or 5 other houses in my neighborhood tried to copy me. read more

Terrible customer service. I was sold a fruit tree that had black fungus. I realized the issue within two weeks after purchase and asked to exchange the tree for one without issue. I was told that trees are like people, they all have issues and get diseases. I informed the customer service lady that I would be fine with a disease that developed after I purchased it but would prefer not to purchase a diseased tree. When I brought the tree back in to the store to trade it in, the same customer service lady very loudly said, "since you don't want to treat the tree we are going to throw it away" then quickly snatched it from my cart and threw it away (again, something she failed to mention to me before bringing the tree back in. I actually would have tried to treat the tree if I thought it would have been thrown in the garbage upon return.). She then made sure I heard her critique and made sure I saw it get thrown in the garbage. Terrible quality to sell me a diseased tree to begin with. Terrible service to not explain that the tree would be destroyed upon return (since I would have tried to save it). Terrible service to make sure I knew the death of the tree was my fault and made sure I witnessed it. read more

The best Pikes in the area. I've been to other locations in Marietta and Acworth where the employees ignore you and don't know the merchandise. Not here! Everyone is friendly, knowledgable and personable. The staff acknowledges you as you walk in the door and is always on hand to answer any question you might have. I take photos of plants with problems and they are able to help me every time. Take a few of their classes. They help when setting up a rose or shade garden. I like this place so much I'd volunteer to work here. read more

Love this place. I stop in at least once a month to pick up 3 or 4 pieces of sod for Gizmo's patio area. And each time - the cashier is friendly - as are the attendants outside. I also appreciate the fact that those guys will usually heft all three or 4 pieces to my trunk at once - making it even quicker. But I do worry that years from now they'll all have hernias. Lol. Pike's nursery completely redeemed themselves, thanks to this location. I initially was trying to engage with the Buckhead location and it was a disaster. I lost a whole week just trying to get basic questions answered and schedule service. I ended up deciding to try another location and I am so glad that I did. I would recommend the Barrett Pkwy location in a heartbeat! I walked in and within 5 min. the nicest, most personable and knowledgeable lady held my hand through the whole process. I had a vision but no real idea of specifics of what I wanted. She stuck with and helped me make selections, we looked at thousand(not literally :) ) options and she didn't rush or pressure me in any way. I even changed my mind a couple of times and she took it all in stride. Thanks to the professionalism and the customer care at this location, I ended up even contracting them to complete the installation services as well. To top it all off, it only took 1 week for my install service and I can't wait. Even though this location was a little further drive for me location-wise, I would highly recommend this location even if you have to go a few miles further. read more

I purchased 2 sedum plants ($40 total) which had a "deer resistant" tag on them. Well, the deer ate them. I called Pike to replace with something they would not eat, bringing them back along with receipt, and they said they would replace them. When I lugged the plants to the checkout, I explained to the girl what had happened and she said she cannot give a refund. I told her the person who answered the phone said that they would provide an exhange/refund. So, I asked to speak to a manager, and the girl started mumbling under her breath. Now, mind you, there was no angst going on with me, it just seemed she didn't know her job, so I wanted clarification with a manager. She called a manager who happened to be standing about 10 feet from her, who continued to stand there doing nothing for a couple of minutes looking around. He finally came over and looked at me and said absolutely nothing. Now mind you, I didn't know he was the manager until the girl said "Here he is" (he seemed very unprofessional). So I again (3rd time) explained the situation and he said he would not give a refund. His name was Frank and he was rude. Never apologized. Asked me who the person was who answered the phone and I said that I didn't know his employees names, but expected them to know their policies. And I then left. Never again will I step into a Pike Nursery... Lowe's is just as good and you won't be treated like dirt... plus, Lowe's costs less!!! They shouldn't be selling items that say "deer resistant" when they are not. Oh, btw, the manager said, deer will eat anything when they are hungry. Then why have the tags that say otherwise!!! read more

A nice young man at the door noticed I had an item to return and suggested using the alternate door for convenience. Th cashier was busy so another person walked over and I said I wanted to return this plant. She said: " DO YOU HAVE RECEIPT?". I said I did not. She said: "WE DON'T TAKE RETURNS OR EXCHANGES WITHOUT A RECEIPT!" Caps are added to emphasize the tone. My first thought was that while she may not have aced the customer service skills portion of training, she certainly knows the rules when a person comes into the store with a dead plant. There are many signs about advertising the "Play in the dirt" rewards club and I figured my wife was probably a member. I suggested we look her up. Sure enough with just a phone number we found the transaction and the type of plant I needed to replace. A very nice older gentleman assisted me with a replacement plant and a few additional herb plants. I purchased the herbs under my wife's phone number just in case I needed to return something without a receipt. read more
