Pleasantly surprised at the food here. I had the fajitas Dorado and it was very good. Our orders were taken fairly quickly after arriving. My only negative was only selling bottled water and I just wanted a cup of water with ice with my meal. Not a huge deal so moving on. I can see where people's wait time vary depending on the time of day. It wasn't busy and the food came out on time. Many reviews complain about the wait time. I didn't have to wait long as the place was empty. However if I had to wait . I would've been ok because the food was delicious. This restaurant is definitely worth a trip to Boquerón. read more

Absolutely delicious. Top picks from our party - Chicken Chimichanga was my daughter's choice and surprisingly good. We had shrimp, Al pastor, and fish tacos and would recommend all three. Fajitas steak was more than could be finished. Service was friendly and ambience was consistent with Mexican restaurants on the mainland. 6 of us voted yes we would come back next trip. First, service was the slowest of anywhere. There was only one other table of people. Drinks were mid (didn't even put rum in a Pina Colada!!). So after going to our first choice that night, we ended up a restaurant call pika-pika but seriously? Nothing pika here. Starting from the guacamole it was the worse I ever ate. You not only have to pay for that as an appetizer but the presentation was like literally a vomit and didn't taste anything It was just taste less. Pika-Pika is an delightful Mexican restaurant experience. I had the Trio fajitas which was a combination of steak, shrimp, and chicken. The "pico de gallo" and chips were also delicious. A complaint I've seen about Pika-Pika is the prices, however I feel that the prices are reasonable for the quality of the food. The service was good and the waitress surprised my sister with a nice birthday surprise. The restaurant was decorated with classic Mexican restaurant and was a family friendly environment. We love visiting this place but due to COVID and Cabo Rojo's Mayor executive order business close at 7:00pm we were able to order last minute and pick up our food. There is no inside dining, the menu is posted on a window and online. Server would come to the car with mask and cloves and all the food pre packed. They served us from appetizers to alcohol to go. Not only the Covid measures put in place made us feel very safe, but also an employee (or the owner?) welcomed us and explained to us everything very thoroughly! Inside, social distancing between tables was enforced and all servers were doing their best to make us feel comfortable even with the mask on. Called before arrival and notified restaurant staff we would be arriving at around 8:00pm. After driving around 30min and arriving with my family they did not let us in because they were "full". We even spoke to the restaurant owner and explained the situation but he was not very helpful in solving our problem. I would stay away from this business. read more

Don't bring your wallet because you will need a brief case when it comes to the bill. The taco price is for each taco you get I sent $36 on 4 tacos. Also, this place is so in-authentic, the are using shredded cheddar cheese. I would never recommend this Restraunt. This was by far the best last minute decisions made on our trip. We stopped in here by accident. Upon entry the place smelled great! Appeared very clean and th wait staff was excellent! The food was freakin amazing! The best we had on our trip! The wait staff was prompt and helpful with the fact that we only spoke English. The food was beyond amazing. There desserts are to die for. Tucked in the heart of Boqueron, in the municipality of Cabo Rojo, is this dainty and rustic Mexican restaurant with an olden style, reminiscent of Mexican, authentic decor. The inside was equipped with wooden tables and chairs, had nice paintings and decorations that made you feel like you were in Mexico. The service was very prompt and proper. From the moment I arrived, we were greeted and directed where to park, and the same person went on to open the door for us. We were told to sit where we would like. The restaurant was not full, but it had a nice flow of people coming in. The waiters were very courteous and attentive at all times. They were very knowledgeable of the menu and were able to help us decide what to order. The pricing was formidable. They started us off with some complementary chips, pico de gallo, and hot sauce, made by themselves. As an appetizer we ordered a half serving of their eponymous dish, Fiesta Pika Pika. It was way more than we bargained for: meat flautas, chicken flautas, chimichangas, quesadillas and stuffed jalape~os; all delicious and exquisite (two of each). Then, for my main dish, I ordered the "Enrollado Nuevo León". It was delicious and filling. It was all cooked to perfection and with great presentation. Skirt steak stuffed with chorizo, monterey cheese, and sweet plantains; wrapped with bacon and bathed in mushrooms sauce. This was accompanied with vegetables and one side. I chose Mexican rice, which was plentiful and full of taste. My companion ordered the fajitas. The meat and chicken came on a skillet, sizzling and plentiful, with tasty, cooked onions, up to the brim. It was all cooked and spiced to perfection. The fajitas came with your typical condiments: cheese, salad, guacamole,sour cream, and sauces. They kept our beverages coming throughout the whole dining experience, keeping us fully quenched at all times. After we were done eating, they brought the check over with a few mints and promptly went on to charge us when we were ready. We were sent here by a local with the warning that the food takes a long time to come out because they make everything fresh, so we went in with that expectation. However, I think our problem might have been our waiter as opposed to the restaurant itself. It took a long time for him to bring the menus, a long time for him to bring water and we waited 45 min for our food that came out cold. Other waiters were bringing out fajitas and they were sizzling, ours was not. When the fajitas don't come out sizzling there's a problem. My chimichanga was cold, fish tacos were cold, and the mole wasn't true mole. It was chicken with mole sauce thrown on top of it. The food was ok. Not terrible but not great. However, I will give them great credit for the jalapeño poppers because those were fantastic. Our waiter kept apologizing to us and I understand that he had 2 tables of about 5-8 people to serve but if adding on another table was too much for him they shouldn't have done it. Or maybe he just needs to learn to balance tables better, I really don't know. Regardless, we were not impressed with this restaurant. read more
