We can't say enough good things about Anoma Perera and all of Team Lassen. Almost everyone we…read moretalked to about buying a house had horror stories about their realtor experience, and we felt SO grateful to have nothing but a positive experience the entire way through! We started out renting a property managed by Team Lassen, and they dealt with all our rental issues promptly and fairly, so we decided to give them a try when we were ready to buy our first home. Anoma is a GIFT. She is so experienced and showed a real knack for listening and learning what was really important to us in a home (even when we weren't quite sure ourselves). In the tight 2024 market, we looked at dozens of homes, and she wasn't shy about pointing out costly flaws in various homes as well as issues we could face down the road (e.g. a home that felt right at the moment would feel too small in 5 years as our daughter grows). She answered our many, many questions and really felt like our advocate the whole way through. Even when we felt discouraged after several months of searching and she could have closed a deal on a "just OK" house, she urged us not to settle on our most important priorities but to keep looking until we found the home that was just right for us. She would highlight listings that had the most potential and steer us away from ones with major dealbreakers so we could make the most of our weekend tours. When our perfect listing finally hit the market, we were out of town. However, we trusted Anoma enough to walk us through the home on video chat, and we made our offer without having set foot in the house ourselves! The bidding process was competitive, but she helped us design an offer that gave us an edge without overextending our budget or compromising on important items. Even after we were under contract, she continued to communicate with us frequently and openly, helping us manage our expectations and maintain a clear idea of what would happen when. By the time we closed on the home, Anoma felt more like family than our realtor! The positive experience runs all the way through Team Lassen, by the way! We also ended up using their mortgage broker, Tim, to help us with the loan end of things. Though we had concerns about conflicts of interest working with the same firm as our realtor, Tim was nothing but fair with us and even helped us choose the best time to lock in our rate based on his experienced observations of the market. We had also been warned never to use the home inspector recommended by a realtor, but in the absence of other good choices, we decided to go for it. Team Lassen's recommended inspector did a terrific job, even when cross-checked against the inspection performed for the previous owners. He was thorough, and his detailed report helped us prioritize our most important repair projects as we moved into the home. We've now lived in our new home for 6 months, and we only love it more as time goes on. We hope to stay here forever and never buy another house, but if we ever needed to, we'd instantly choose Anoma and Team Lassen again. You don't find this kind of honesty, communication, and kindness every day. They're the whole package!

Don't bother. Skip this company altogether. What started off as a great experience devolved into an…read moreextremely frustrating and expensive ordeal. This company has proven that the best interests of the property owners is not a priority. As property managers, their ENTIRE JOB is to be an agent of the property owner and they do not even come close to adequately providing this. When a tenant requests a service, they take the chance to give business to their vendors rather than investigate if it's a real issue. I have had to request a walkthrough of my property no less than 5 times before any effort was made to address my concern. In addition, outstanding utilities balances from previous tenants was never taken care of, though it was their responsibility, leaving me stuck with bills and expenses that were not mine. Based on the BBB complaints and primarily bad reviews, it appears that my experience is not at all unique. If you value your property, do yourself a favor and find another company with a better reputation. There are plenty around.

Absolute scam If I could give zero stars, I would…read more My experience with Smart City Locators was extremely disappointing and ultimately a complete waste of time. I initially reached out expecting professional guidance from someone with in-depth knowledge of the local rental market, apartment communities, pricing, amenities, and leasing considerations. Unfortunately, that was not what I received. Throughout the process, it became clear that the agent I worked with had very limited knowledge of the properties being recommended. Basic questions regarding building features, management quality, neighborhood differences, lease terms, and unit availability often went unanswered or were met with vague responses. Rather than acting as a knowledgeable advisor, the experience felt more like a sales transaction focused on getting me to sign a lease as quickly as possible. What concerned me most was the apparent lack of interest in understanding my actual needs and priorities. Instead of providing thoughtful recommendations based on my criteria, I felt repeatedly pushed toward specific units without any meaningful explanation as to why they were a good fit. The entire process gave the impression that the primary objective was securing a commission rather than helping a client make an informed housing decision. As a result, I ended up conducting most of my own research, contacting properties directly, verifying information independently, and learning far more on my own than through the service I was supposedly receiving. This completely defeated the purpose of working with an apartment locator in the first place. A service like this should provide expertise, local market knowledge, transparency, and value. In my experience, Smart City Locators failed to deliver on all of those expectations. Rather than simplifying my apartment search, they added frustration, confusion, and unnecessary delays. I rarely leave negative reviews, but prospective renters deserve an honest account of my experience. Based on the service I received, I would not recommend Smart City Locators and would encourage renters to do their own research before relying on this company for guidance.
