It's on a quiet street where one must go to discover it rather than just stumble across it en route elsewhere. I never went inside either restaurant as both sport pleasant outdoor seating where I was able to sit despite the presence of "reserved" signs atop the tables. The menus are even similar between the two restaurants, or at least were similar in the categories I cared about: fried cheese and goulash. Both were every bit as good here as they were at Zum Leopold and I think you'll be best rewarded at both places by sticking to the Austrian basics. Not to keep comparing the two restaurants but one reminded me of the other and vice-versa and I honestly couldn't say that one was any better than the other. If you have time, try both, or if you like the idea of a less-traveled, more little neighborhood place come here instead.

Are a tourist and looking for a place to eat local or native food?…read more This is your jam! I was looking for a place to have lunch as I was hungry and I looked and looked. I knew that I did not want to eat american food but this one stood out and looked very family oriented and with local and traditional flavors. O walked in and everyone shares the table. So if you sit at a table with 4 to 6 chairs and there are 3 left, you can expect to be will be sharing the table at some point. I loved this place because a lot of locals go to it to have lunch. They have a lunch menu of the day but I wanted to have Wien schnitzel. Don't be shocked if you are the inly tourist in the restaurant! The service was good and efficient but keep in mind that they only take CASH ! The ambience was good, sharing tables, family style. Everyone was very welcoming even when I was the only tourist. I highly recommend this space if you want to try very good traditional food.

I don't know why they were rated harshly - they had good food, fast and friendly service. My husband and I split the schnitzel and it was one of the best I have ever had. Portions were large.

We were seated at a table by the window, and served by a nice older waiter who spoke excellent English. We made the mistake of asking for water and ended up paying for expensive bottled water. We ordered a smoked salmon salad, sausages wrapped in bacon and served with fries, gnocchi in pesto, and tartufo. The salad had plenty of salmon, but not much else in the way of dressing, which was a bit disappointing since the rest of it was just lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumbers. The sausage plate came with one sausage wrapped in bacon and one sausage more like a polish sausage, and plenty of fries. The sausages were good, but a bit too heavy for lunch. I'm not sure how the gnocchi was since my sister pretty much devoured it. We all enjoyed the tartufo, though that may have just been because it was chocolate and we were stressed. The bill was a bit much for what was adequate but not particularly outstanding food. Ambiance was pleasant but bland in a sort of hotel-restaurant style. Two-ish stars, with maybe an extra half-star for the nice waiter.
