Today was a good day. It didn't start out well but it sure did end well. Long story, short: I…read morehad an appointment with Sondra's Fine Jewelry to review my mother-in-law's estate jewelry (to confirm gold vs costume, etc.) - when I arrived I was treated more rudely by the owner than I can remember experiencing ever from a business owner. Missing the sign for the door buzzer upon arrival, Sondra literally made the comment that "the sign is as big as you are!" (I am 100 lbs overweight stemming from a car accident 10 years ago.) She then proceeded to charge me $150/hour for a meeting that was supposed to be at no charge. Needless to say, I picked up my four bags of jewelry and I went across the street, to Northeastern Fine Jewelers and had the best service I have experienced. I had never been to NEFJ but I walked in with my four bags, was warmly greeted by three different people and spent the next 2.5 hours with a lovely, knowledgeable young lady (Gina) who confirmed that I had thousands of dollars in gold and silver and sorted the rest as costume to be auctioned off by an estate liquidator. Nick brought me coffee while Gina worked on the jewelry (at no charge!) and it ended up being a nice experience, doing the dreadful task of going through all of mom's things. Gina and Nick both offered their condolences and Gina and I shared many "mom stories" while we worked. Gina was very knowledgeable - she would make the "uh huh" sound when she picked up a piece and then confirmed that it was valuable under the microscope tool. She was also quite pleasant, accommodating, courteous, professional and a true pleasure to spend the afternoon with. While at NEFJ, I noticed the huge selection of jewelry and am sending my husband to shop! They have a birthstone white diamond ring that I have been looking years for! A day turned from bad to good within a couple of hours. Kudos Northeastern Fine Jewelry, and thank you so much, Gina and Nick... you are both amazing and I look forward to seeing you again soon.

My new and only jeweler…read more After months of being ghosted and led on by other jewelers in the area, my grandmother recommended this store. She raved about how friendly and welcoming the environment and staff was during her visit to get her rings cleaned. I walked in and was immediately greeted by everyone working. Sierra showed me what they had for engagement rings and was very upfront about prices and timelines to get it back to me. She was able to get me the ring I wanted with the diamond I wanted all within my time frame (of about a week) within my budget. We even made a secret code through text so if she texted me and my girlfriend saw it she wouldn't suspect a thing. When I came in to pick up the ring she recognized me instantly, and wanted to hear about my plan to propose. She is 100% there to help people. After the proposal, I came in to get the ring sized up, and brought my (now) fiancé, Sierra and Jenn brought the excitement and celebrated with both of us. Finally I came to pick up the ring today and even though they had a few other customers in the store Sierra still took the time to yell over "Hey Deven!" when I came in. Jenn also took the time to help me get sized for a ring in the future. (Which I plan to purchase from them!) I can't recommend this store enough. They really take care of you there and treat you like a close friend. I live down in Malta and will gladly make the trip up every time for any jewelry needs that I have. Thank you to everyone on the team who made my experiences great!

We were…read moregetting ready to go out the dinner a few days later for New Years and my wife put these in for the first time. We didn't even get out the door and the post on one of them fell off! I called Zales a couple days later and they said to bring them into the store. I explained that the closest store was a 90 minute drive to get there. The guy I spoke to said he'd make a note of the issue and to bring them in when we could. Honestly it was about a month later that we were able to get down there. Once there they acted like it was the first time they had heard of the issue and mentioned that they were now out of warranty. I explained again that they were a gift and we wanted them repaired or replaced. They boxed them up and sent them out. The manager said they should be able to help somehow. A month later the store called saying the earrings were in and to come pick them up. So we drove the 90 minutes down the following day and when we got there we were told that they were not in the store yet! It took the manager about 20 minutes to figure out that they were still at the repair shop and that the earring could not be repaired. About a week later we received another call from them saying the earrings were in. I had to ask if they were certain because this would be a third trip down there. Once there they gave us the earrings and were discussing amongst themselves as to whether they should charge us for the shipping cost. I just about went through the roof. No apologies, no offer to replace the defective earring, nothing.... I'd give this Zero stars if I could. We'll never spend another dime at Zales and neither will our friends and family.

July of 2018 I went in for my routine cleaning and inspection and the lady noticed one of the four big prongs was missing. Not a huge deal, send it out and get it back 3 weeks later..... January 2019 my husband brings it in, man signs the paperwork saying all is great and sends my husband on his way. Later that night as I'm looking at my ring I notice that again a prong is missing. First of all, why am I loosing prongs? More importantly HOW did the man not realize? I called the store, he was very apologetic and told me to bring it back up. The ring now gets placed into an envelope with strangers jewelry and is sent away for another 3 weeks. I receive a call that my ring has arrived with the prong fixed and I can come pick it up at my convenience. ONE HOUR after I picked up my "fixed" ring i noticed that a small diamond is MISSING! I skipped the phone call this time, drove up to the store and requested to speak to the manager. This woman comes out from the back and tells me I must have lost the diamond in the last hour because it "only takes a split second to lose a diamond." In my own stupidity I send it out AGAIN. When it comes back 3 weeks later I enter the store tell the man at the counter I will be bringing the ring to someone I can trust to have it looked at. Let's just say Zales has replaced my diamond with a TLB (top light brown) diamond. It sticks out and doesn't match the rest of my ring. At this point I am absolutely disgusted with this business. I have called the customer support since February and still can't get in touch with district manager. I will never spend another penny at Zales or any of their sister stores. They should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. If only 0 stars was an option....

About three months after the main diamond fell out but my wife had the second ring so it was put away until I got a chance to find another kays which I waited for this Christmas and went to the Saratoga Springs - I purchased three more items and three more warranties and brought back the other ring and was told sure you have the warranty it will be fixed for free- But a week later they called and said it was not covered because I did not get it inspected every six months - I said how would I know that if no one told me and was never given a copy of the warranty - the Asst Manager said she would see what she could do and called a week later and said basically too bad you have to pay $400 - by the way after I purchased this years warranty no one said anything about the six month inspection. I was a loyal customer for years buying at last three times per years Christmas - Anniversary and Birthday - bottom line I advised them I will take my business and the ring elsewhere- my advise is don't buy anything from Kays - but if you do don't get the waranty it is a ripoff
