The most amazing seafood platter overlooking the water
Liz O.

SO GOOD. They have an amazing view of the water; it's the closest place to where the ferry will drop you off. I ordered the seafood board and it was delicious! And deceivingly filling. It was so refreshing and beautiful to sit and watch the water and enjoy the food with a beer. They had wifi, you just have to ask them for the password. And the waitstaff was very friendly :) I don't know about the other places to eat on the island, but I would definitely recommend this place!

Food, bay.

Definitely a must stop and eat restaurant directly on the bay with nice water views. Food is great and staff are very friendly, and they pour a nice pint of Guinness.

Looks nice, shame about the food though

We decided to pop in here for a bite to eat after our long tour of the island, and god I wish we hadn't. I ordered the special, which was "Mackerel fillets in a herb and butter sauce, with chive mash, served with vegetables. Herself had a mushroom and bacon omelet and the young lad had the sausages and chips. When our food arrived I immediately noticed the lack of chives in my mash, and also that the mash was a ball of grease, in all my years I have never seen anything like it, I would have been blinded with the sheen off it, it I hadn't been wearing my sun glasses, the fish was so dry, I could have hammered nails in with it and there was a total lack of the promised herb butter and the vegetables, I took one bite of the fish and mash and, Christ it was vile, so I pushed it to one side as there was no way I was assaulting my palette with it. The omelet wasn't too bad, it lacked any form of seasoning but other than that, I couldn't fault it. The sausages and chips were just thrown onto the plate and were exactly what they were, although for €9 I would have expected a bit more, like maybe, home cut chips (they were shoestring chips from a packet) and some sort of gourmet sausage instead of the basic ones that were served. My family ate what they were given without complaint as I headed back into the restaurant in search of our waitress, I explained that I couldn't eat my food as it was terrible, so she followed me out to the table (we choose to eat outside) she took one look at my plate and said "Oh my god that's disgusting" she asked if I wanted anything else, and I refused, saying that it had put me off eating there, she said she would feel the same and took the food back to the kitchen. We paid the €25 bill and left, hopefully to never return again.

I am so glad that we decided to still go although it was not included in our game plan. This island was beautiful! I recommend renting a bike and biking the entire island and visiting all of the historic sites. We did not have a bed and breakfast booked or had any idea of where to dine and enjoy some Guinness. I am so happy to have found tigh ruari! The owners were extremely friendly and accomodating. Although there were no other tourists, the hosts at Tigh Ruari went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. The food the cooked was delicious; I had fish and my husband had baby back ribs. They poured a great Guinness and we had lovely conversations. The rooms were nothing special; but they were clean and comfortable. I am so happy to have found this B and B and spent my evening drinking, eating and having great conversation here.

Everyone is so friendly and eager to do what they can to make your stay pleasant. The food is super great Irish home-cooked, fresh caught comfort at its best. Like slipping on a comfy pair of yoga (or sweat) pants. The seafood chowder is the absolute best I have ever had. Chock full of fish, mussels, calamari, shrimp, crab, scallops in a delightfully rich, creamy potato, bacon, leek base. The Irish stew was phenomenal. Peppery, smooth blend of mutton, potatoes, onion, carrots, and general deliciousness. Their brown bread is superb. The burger was flavorful, and juicy. The desserts: chocolate cake is wonderful, rich and velvety. The catch of the day is also amazing, especially when it's salmon and dill sauce. The full Irish and vegetarian Irish breakfasts are made to order and divine. The scones. My husband is still dreaming of their scones.

Sandra was a ray of sunshine in the midst of a rainy afternoon, providing shelter and sustenance to our travel weary group. I loved the layout of the rooms; each bearing the name of a famous Irish author. There were books by and pictures of the author and in the general housekeeping booklet, there was a brief history of them as well. I was upstairs in the W.B. Yates room. The large slanted windows allowed natural light to fill the room and show off the colours and design of the decor. The bed was spacious, and extremely comfortable, and the down comforter valiantly fought of the cold that was trying to creep into my bones. I also loved the bathroom area; quaint and modern at the same time. When we had rested and gotten the lay of the land from Sandra, we enjoyed some time playing chess and relaxing. It felt as though we were in a home away from home. This is the house that I would have built and decorated if I decided to live with some of my best friends in Ireland. In your room, you could pre-order what you wanted for breakfast in addition to the continental breakfast buffet that was available. You could list the time you wanted breakfast and the dish, and just show up downstairs in the morning. I ordered the melted cheese and toast, eggs and bacon. We were greeted in the morning with hot tea or coffee, while looking across the grasses all the way out to the waves crashing on the cliffs. On slightly warmer, less windy and rainy days, I think having breakfast outside would be quite the treat. I loved every minute of being at Doolin Views and was extremely gracious for Sandra's hospitality. My only regret was that we were only able to stay for one night, especially as the price was quite reasonable. It feels like the type of place where you could relax and fully recharge the batteries of your soul and make you ready to face the world. If your travels take you to Doolin, you would be well advised to spend some nights at Doolin Views.

The room itself was cosy, clean and really comfortable. Property is in a fantastic location close to town (2min walk) and even closer to the pub (1min walk, although longer coming home for obvious reasons). We were made to feel welcome and we enjoyed our stay. One of my sticking points--ever since I had a bad B&B experience in Galway--is cleanliness. Ard Mhuiris passed my white-glove test, and I tend to be rather picky now. In my book, I'm not looking for the newest furniture or the most posh 5-million thread count Egyptian sheets; I'm looking for a clean bedroom and a clean bathroom. We totally got that here, and enjoyed the establishment. This is a good place to make your "home base" on Inishmore. Ard Mhuiris is a 5 minute walk from the pier in Kilronan and close to restaurants. It's very convenient and well kept. Thank you, we'll be back!
