Cannot recommend Ard Mhuiris B&B more. The view from our room was nothing short of spectacular,…read moreoverlooking the sea and stone wall fields. The room itself was cosy, clean and really comfortable. Property is in a fantastic location close to town (2min walk) and even closer to the pub (1min walk, although longer coming home for obvious reasons). But what really makes this property is the host Cáit, a wonderful, personable and warm lady who is always on hand with handy tips or recommendations. She also makes a mean breakfast to set you up for the day's adventures. Will definitely be back, sooner rather than later!

This was a lovely B&B and we will most certainly return. Breakfast was excellent, our rooms were…read moreclean, and the husband & wife team running the establishment were very nice. We were made to feel welcome and we enjoyed our stay. One of my sticking points--ever since I had a bad B&B experience in Galway--is cleanliness. Ard Mhuiris passed my white-glove test, and I tend to be rather picky now. In my book, I'm not looking for the newest furniture or the most posh 5-million thread count Egyptian sheets; I'm looking for a clean bedroom and a clean bathroom. We totally got that here, and enjoyed the establishment. This is a good place to make your "home base" on Inishmore. Ard Mhuiris is a 5 minute walk from the pier in Kilronan and close to restaurants. It's very convenient and well kept. Thank you, we'll be back!

Thank goodness my brother told us about this island. It's the largest of the Aran Island (where the…read moreAran sweater is from) and was one of the best places I visited in my two months of travelling in Europe. It's actually one of my favorite places I've ever been to in my life. Being on the island is probably the romanticized Ireland that we all imagine. So just visualize, green hilly fields, views of the ocean, thick "cable knit" sweaters, a Leprechaun House, a bit of mist, a bit of sun and nice smiley people. We booked the b & b through the tourism office in Galway. To get to the island you need to take a bus in Galway to a ferry for a short ride out to the island. When you arrive there are small caravan cars that can take you where you need to go. It cost a few euros per person to take us to the bed and breakfast (b & b). Once we got there we found out that you can pay extra for dinner, which was salmon that night. I'd suggest having dinner there since there is only a pub across the street, which might not be open. Or if the weather is good, you could walk back to town for more choices. The breakfast was typical Irish: bread, jam, bacon, sausage, oatmeal, eggs, potatoes, tea, etc. Our room in the house had a full bathroom, a queen size bed, and balcony. The furniture in the house was homey and cozy, just like being in a friend's house. The island is only 8 miles long, perfect for walking or riding bikes. Unfortunately, the day we got there it was like a hurricane. We spent the afternoon and night in the bed and breakfast watching the wind. The weather cleared up the next day and we walked to Dún Aonghasa, a prehistoric fort. Truly amazing views. We got so taken away by the island that we got back later than expected and missed the last caravan to town to catch the ferry back to Galway. Fortunately, the owners are really nice people, the husband gave us a ride to town and told us about the island and how he and his wife started the b & b. IMPORTANT: The bank on the island is only open one day a week for a limited number of hours, I think Wednesday, so get some cash before going out there. My only regret, is that we didn't spend more time here. But that means I'll just have to go back! I'll upload pictures as soon Yelp lets me.

Breakfast was the highlight! Treasa has real skill and her baking/cooking shows it. Wish we could have stayed longer. Location is also nicely away from the port and closer to the more interesting part of the island, including being right at the foot of Dun Aoinghus fort.
