He was able to prove to me with 100% certainty that the axle was the issue, and he even showed it to me. He only was going to replace one, and when I noticed the rubber boot on the other one was becoming dry, I asked him he could just change that one too. Moral of that story- HE WASN'T TRYING TO PUSH ANYTHING EXTRA ON ME. While I waited for the other guy (Jerry) to do my axles, Robert offered to buy me food. We walked across the street and he bought me a breakfast burrito.. like WHAT! So kind!! Unfortunately, when the axles were done, he noticed a coolant leak coming down from my van. He said... that wasn't good. And I shouldn't be taking any long trips with a leak like that (I was supposed to be driving to Arizona the next day). He said my water pump was bad and it would be smart to replace it before driving a long ways. Unfortunately again, the part only comes in a kit with the timing belt, and that sh$& is EXPENSIVE. But... it had to get done. So I told him to go ahead and order the part, let's knock this bi$ch out, even though I knew it would be expensive. I didn't want to risk anything happening on my road trip. He and his team were able to get it all done same day, which is extremely impressive considering all the work. There's a TV in the lobby, so I just netflixed and chilled all day haha. I would recommend everybody go to these people. They are super helpful and thoughtful. Robert even showed me what he was doing along the way, so I could get an accurate picture of what was wrong, what the parts looked like, etc. Although I was there for just short of 10 hours, I would have done it again knowing how well I was taken care of.

It had started when I drove through SF and I had driven with white knuckles all the way down the 5. When I arrived to town, I wanted to get it straightened out right away and so began my Google research. Though Westcoast Auto did not pop up in my initial search for RV services, I was referred to the by Gary's RV Service down the road as he said they had a rack that would support our short bus conversion. Don't let the somewhat dingy appearance of the shop's exterior deter you. It is an auto garage, after all. The crew and the lady at the front desk were very polite and helpful. They put the bus on the rack and within minutes had diagnosed the problem as a separated tire tread. This was great news as I was bracing myself for the worst: suspension, alignment, damage to my rim, etc. Truth be told, they could have claimed that any of these things were the issue and I would have blindly paid for it to get back on the road. They were honest, however, and charged me only $65 for a used tire to get me back up and running. The bus is driving great now and our family is able to enjoy our vacation with peace of mind, as well as a newfound appreciation for the honest humans of the world.

I went to Noe for a second opinion, and he sketched out a circuit diagram to illustrate that the failed spark plug was unlikely to have damaged the ignition coils. Basically, he saved me at least a couple hundred bucks with his expertise and honesty. We went to Noe for everything when we lived in Vista, and depending on the problem, I'll still give him a call now that we've moved down to Escondido.

My friend who referred me to Robert/S&S Advanced Auto Repair more than a year ago was confident…read morethat he'd be able to solve the mystery of why my car's interior lights and one or both "door open" warnings would flash on or stay on while I was driving, even though all the doors were fully closed and locked. The problem was intermittent but occurred frequently enough that it was truly irritating. In my first review, I explained why Robert turned me into a loyal customer even though he wasn't able to diagnose my car's problem. I recently brought my car back to Robert for a couple of other issues and told him the lights and warning notices were still flashing. I left the car with him overnight so he could fix the new issues, and he said he'd try again to figure out what was going on with the lights and warnings. Naturally, because the car was with the mechanic, it was on its best behavior. Until it wasn't. Robert or one of his guys was driving it when the lights flashed, and because they had their computer equipment in the car when it happened, they were able to quickly diagnose the problem as a faulty door latch assembly in one of the doors. My friend was right. Robert and his team--through their experience, skill, perseverance, patience and having the right tools--was able to correctly diagnose a crazy intermittent problem. I approved replacing the faulty part, and the problem has vanished! I don't know what a different mechanic would charge to fix the problem that Robert correctly diagnosed. But I do believe that had I known about S&S from the start, I would have saved $300 by not taking it to the other mechanic that charged me to try this and then try that. Robert and his team rock!

He was fair, they did all the work on time and remain accountable for their work! They were cost effective in our view & very professional. My one concern was that " they prefer cash" instead of card. Now their reasoning is to avoid the .03% they pay on credit cards although I don't see a debit card charging .03%. Isn't that there cost of doing business with credit cards, although plus to allow more business to come their way? Strange to me.
