Liked it. Had the chicken carbonara pizza and the bestie had the margherita. It could have been us but today our pizzas didn't seem as filling. Then again this time we had the thin crust. Both were really good. I was partial to the margherita. The guy who served us was very nice but the cashier was a little dry. The place was pretty empty for a friday night. UTA students must know where else to party. :-) There is a parking lot across the street and parking was free! Good stuff. The area is really nice. After we left we heard music and saw that there were a lot of people crowded around MAVS Sports Grill. We'll have to check that one out soon. read more

Five stars because the staff couldn't be nicer or more accommodating. I've visited a handful of times this semester, sometimes with large groups and sometimes alone or with a friend or two. Every visit went great. Pizza: I was tempted to dock a star here. A healthy number of visits in, and I still haven't found a standout have-to-have-it pizza. I know they've got to have one somewhere! I've tried the Farmer's Market, Mediterranean and BBQ Chicken pies. I liked them well enough, and they were definitely fresh. The staff were happy to help me customize everything... but I just wasn't blown away by the end result. That may have more to do with me and the limits of my creativity than Pie Five! Drinks: I like that Pie Five has Rahr beer, and the prices are very reasonable for being on campus. That's definitely a bonus, because a lot of times friends will want to meet up when I'm not hungry. I can show up and enjoy a good beer instead of feeling like I'm taking up a paying customer's seat! Environment: A lot of families, a lot of students. Faculty from the university. Not super loud. Great environment. It does get crazy busy intermittently; if you show up right at a rush time, you may spend ten to fifteen minutes or more in line and have to fish around for a table. This was our first time at Pie Five and had fairly high expectations. But we were mildly disappointed at this location. Kind of to be expected at a college campus honestly. We went on a Thursday evening and it was pretty dead. There was one other customer there when we came in. The college kids on staff were friendly enough and accommodating, but they were kind of slow, stingy on toppings and not a lot was restocked. Which was odd because they weren't even busy. They didn't have a lot of toppings they boast about having. Like tomatoes... how is a pizza place out of tomatoes? That doesn't seem like the workers fault as much as poor management. The cinnamon sticks were sub-par. Not as good as they looked. The pizza was pretty good - but it's hard to mess up pizza. Again, wish we would have had more toppings. We will be trying the location in north Arlington next to see if it's a little more put together. I liked the concept of Pie five - make your own pizza, it's well priced, and they even have a low carb crust which was a huge plus. But every franchise is different so I'm assuming this one is just not as great as other locations. UPDATE: we went to the north Arlington location last night and it was ATROCIOUS and AWFUL. I ordered twice from the Uber app. First time was fine. I got the personal pizza with a dessert & drink. Second time I did the same thing. Ordered from Uber app but instead I got a personal pizza and drink. Their brownie was so damn good last time that this time I ordered a whole brownie pie. I only got 1 brownie. The Uber driver didn't check my order to see if it was correct. I knew I had to call because the brownie pie was like $9 alone. I called. No answer. Great concept and this pizza was good for about the first year this location was open but lately the crust is soggy. Don't know if the ovens need a tune up or they are using different settings but something needs to be fixed. My most recent experience was pretty bad. I placed an online order but arrived to no pizza. They blamed it on a printer or something so I had to wait for them to make the pizza. The manager gave me a $2 off coupon for next visit and after my pizza was ready the owner asked if I would like a free drink which I declined but would have appreciated while I was waiting. Second time on-line ordering failed for me. Then I got home (4 minutes to my kitchen) and the pizza was cold and not cooked through. I would give this place 100 stars if I could!!!!! I brought a field trip of 30 3rd and 4th graders in without notice at 11:30. They accommodated us immediately. They got us in and out quickly and kept smiles on their faces while doing it. Since we are on a field trip we wanted somewhere quick so we could continue with our tours and they did not disappoint. I work in the Chase Bank bldg. which is about 3 blocks away.....I'd drive a mile for a pizza before coming back here again. I had several coupons that had been sent to the bank....after working a long shift I decided to use the coupon for a free pizza and the coupon for a five dollar pizza...inspected them both to make sure there was no disclaimer about "cannot use 2 coupons at the same time"......first of all the parking is a joke, but anyway I get in and order the pizzas and at the register, some skinny blonde chick informs me that I can't use 2 coupons...I inform HER that it does not say that on any of the coupons....she is rude and refuses to take them....so I get them back and leave. I've been here twice and ordered the Athenian each time. Although it comes on the thin crust, you can order it on the traditional crust as well. I've tried each version and they're both equally good! I love the fact that the pizza is light (not greasy like most pizza places), yet filling. I will definitely be back to try some of the other pies. =) read more

We LOVE the Park Center Pie Five. As a gluten-free family, it's always hard to find restaurants where we feel like we're eating "normal" food (instead of the usual restaurant GF fare of a dried out piece of meat with a side of steamed veggies). The GF pizza here is excellent, and the team members are always careful to change their gloves and use separate utensils for our food. I would say that cross-contamination is definitely a risk for the super-sensitive GF person, but for our family, they are as careful as we need them to be. The team members are most always very friendly (there's a couple that aren't necessarily unfriendly, just a little sedate). Since we eat here frequently, the manager recognizes us and is always friendly and welcoming. One of the best things about this Pie Five is that it is SUPER clean. Tables are cleaned promptly, and the floors (even in the outside area) are swept and clean. The drink station is always immaculate. I have never even seen a spill or a discarded straw wrapper laying on the counter. It is exceptionally tidy and clean. We love the new Park Center area. It almost has an Austin vibe (college kids, outdoor eating), which we love. I hope that Pie Five will remain here for a long time. It's one of our favorite places in Arlington. read more

I saw this place driving and decided to stop by. I liked the openness of the restaurant, and the fact that they make the pizza right in front of you. It's nice knowing who is preparing your food and watching it happen. The High Five pizza tasted very good, but I was somewhat still hungry after it. The stars I'm giving here is just for the pizza I got. So far I've tried the High Five, Chicken Cabonara and Pesto Alfredo Chicken I believe, and all were good. I'm kind of a frequent customer since I live on campus so I know the staff there (not that they know me). Last night (11/20) I went there at around 10 to get a pizza. The staff were not attentive at all. My pizza was done, ready out of the oven, and the guy already put it in the box, but he was all talking and laughing with the other 2 guys working there, all excited about this pie he customize for another customer with her name on it, I waited for 5 mins when all he had to do is give the pizza to me and I'm out of the door. The asian guy at the cashier was rude. I stood there waiting for the pizza to be ready. He called me, "hey, you need to pay". Wow. Rude much. I gave him my card, he barely gave it back to me (I had to reach over the table for it). He gave me 2 copies of the receipt, when I already took them he was like "hey I need this one" and just grab a copy. So rude! Normally this is my favorite place but after last night, I think I should just go to Digg's Taco or Pho Express for food instead. read more
