Upon learning what that meant, they actually said: "that would show the edges". RED FLAG: They don't use spacers to protect art from the glass. When asked about it, their rambling explaination of why this particular piece didn't need spacers came off more as a long-winded excuse for; we forgot the spacers. RED FLAG: Dynamic pricing. Without a breakdown of accounting, your frame costs will vary by the art's perceived value. A frame for Aunt Ginny's cat painting will cost X. EXACT same frame for limited edition signed print will cost X times, who knows. When I specifically asked about this, their comeback was "oh, this is just about the cost then". No, I was trying to prove my point of their suspicous pricing policy. Not looking for a refund. I got what I got. Just trying to warn others. Go elsewhere. We were admiring the smaller pictures for easy transportation when a couple came in discussing the purchase of the large picture. His attention went to following the couple around the store and ignoring us. To the point that the couple a few times asked for a moment to discuss their potential purchase. When I asked if he had a website that we could access, his response was rude and abrupt. He was obviously irritated that he needed to assist us when the couple was moving closer to the door. I personally enjoy buying and supporting your local shops. Being in sales myself I know that you need to treat each customer as important as the next. Had he known I was considering a purchase of a larger picture to have sent to my home maybe his service would have been better. This guy. This guy!…read more Man ... where to begin ........ Ben Osborn, the owner and *brilliance* behind Eastbound Photography and Custom Framing is just awesome. "AMAZING" doesn't even begin to describe what he's done for us, and how fantastic he is. Though I've yet to use his framing services, personally- I've seen the work he does and I've also been lucky enough to see him in 'action.' From both experiences, I can honestly say that Ben is one of the MOST clever and artistic guys I've ever met or known in my entire life. Everything he creates is not only breathtaking ... but also PERFECT - down to one millionth of an inch. He is meticulous. The knack he has for detail could give even Bob Vila a run for his money. This is a hobby for him, but NOT *just* a hobby. He studies his craft, he puts every second of spare time into it, he goes to classes to learn and perfect. This isn't a money-making "scheme" for this guy. This is what he loves. And it SHOWS. I'm not sure he often does photography for people or families -- mostly focusing his spectacular talent(s) on scenery, landscapes, etc. But, he did it for us as a special favor. It was a very hot/humid day in the South Carolina sun, and he had lots of people in my family to photograph. And the MAJORITY of the people involved were young children & babies. Not one time during the (many) hours he spent taking our pics did he get frustrated or disheveled (and I am not too proud to admit that my 2 kids were NOT the most cooperative subjects in the world) :) -- nor did Ben lose his patience, smile, creativity, OR sense of humor (which is absolutely terrific, by the way.) If you DON'T laugh while spending a few minutes with Ben, you might need to check yourself. Because he WILL make you laugh. Ben clearly has a real eye for beauty and a very obvious talent when it comes to seeing the "simple" things ... that so many of us would take for granted or otherwise would just never notice. It really is something special to watch him in action. You can see by the look on his face and the twinkle in his eye that Ben has found his passion. :) It's a sight to behold! We are SO lucky to have experienced it for ourselves. And I look forward to having one of his works hanging in our home someday. Look OUT, Ansel Adams! :) And keep up the INCREDIBLE work, Ben Osborn!
