Upon learning what that meant, they actually said: "that would show the edges". RED FLAG: They don't use spacers to protect art from the glass. When asked about it, their rambling explaination of why this particular piece didn't need spacers came off more as a long-winded excuse for; we forgot the spacers. RED FLAG: Dynamic pricing. Without a breakdown of accounting, your frame costs will vary by the art's perceived value. A frame for Aunt Ginny's cat painting will cost X. EXACT same frame for limited edition signed print will cost X times, who knows. When I specifically asked about this, their comeback was "oh, this is just about the cost then". No, I was trying to prove my point of their suspicous pricing policy. Not looking for a refund. I got what I got. Just trying to warn others. Go elsewhere. Then to add insult to injury when I went to pick it up, saw his shoddy work, and told him it wasn't what I ordered he gave me a dumb look and asked what I wanted to do. So I said "I want it redone right" to which he replied "ok, but it's gonna take me about a month maybe more to get the material for the frame because of supply chain issues and I'm gonna have to double charge you for the materials because the frame you selected is one of the more expensive ones." Call me crazy but I just think people should stand by their work and when they screw up own their mistake and make it right. The customers should not get double charge to fix the vendors mistakes. So unless you want to have to pay twice to have your picture framed and deal with premium priced incompetence go somewhere else.

There is no better place to buy high-quality, locally made mementos, and affordable ones at that! Charleston Crafts is no exception. If I had unlimited funds, I'd clean this place out. Their selection runs the gamut of art forms and medias. Metal, wood, paper, ceramics, textiles, jewelry, glass, it's all here and then some. I spent a good half hour just perusing everything they have to offer. I've never seen a more extensive display of diverse artistry at a cooperative gallery. The Lowcountry is home to a ridiculous number of talented craftspeople. So when you're out and about downtown, don't forget to make a pit stop at Charleston Crafts. What better way to remember your trip to Charleston than with a unique craft or two? They're way cooler than mass-produced keychains and magnets.
