Right upstairs is a vloggler/influencer dream. I believe the gentleman who helped me was Tony, a supervisor dedicated so much of his time to educate me about different lightings and cameras. Whether you are looking for lighting, video equipment, or traditional still photography gear, the layout makes sense and the product displays are well put together and easy to browse. The buying process for new gear is efficient. The staff members I spoke with were helpful and clearly knowledgeable about the items in stock, which made the experience smooth. It is definitely a great place to stop by if you want to get your hands on the latest equipment. However, I did have one notable downside regarding their trade-in process. Their valuation for used gear is not competitive compared to other major name-brand companies. In my case, their offer fell short by about $300 to $400 (which was not used retail). When I showed an associate the legitimate competitive offer I had received elsewhere, they simply dismissed it and told me to just go with the other company. It was disappointing to see a lack of willingness to work with a customer who had a documented, better offer. Aside from the trade-in experience, it's a solid shop with a great selection. I would recommend it for new purchases, but you might want to look elsewhere if you are trying to get top dollar for your used equipment.

Jordan was very nice and helpful. Color slides were $3 dollars each and the disposable camera was about $20. Very professional place and looking forward to seeing what took me so long to develop. I hope it's a good surprise and not one I've been avoiding. The disposable was found after two decades of being in a box.....lol!!

Over the years The Icon has gone downhill faster than any other film/printing lab in all of LA…read more I've been a full-time photographer for almost 2 decades and have solely gone to The Icon for all of my film development, scanning and printing services. I've sent countless other photographers and producers here. I and am so disappointed to say that their production quality and customer service has become so poor, I've finally thrown in the towel and will never return. Some of the issues I've encountered in the last two years: Numerous rolls damaged in their processor or scanning workflow, prints lost in the shuffle or never delivered on time, and zero communication from their "customer service representatives". The recent fast employee turnover rate comes to no surprise as no one seems to know what they're doing anymore. The majority of staff are all suddenly under 25 years old and there's a "new technician" or counter clerk every week I go in. Just yesterday a man named "Aaron" called me (claiming to be one of the owners, when I personally know the owner Ramesh and Rathin) and tried to solve a problem we were having with some prints. He was completely incompetent and lied about his position at The Icon. With love and respect, I hope they get it back together one day but if you have any care whatsoever about your film, prints or customer service, save yourself the time and money and go literally anywhere else.

It is cash only and you must bring your own flash drive or buy one from them! I've done a shoot here with a party of 3 and a party of 5. The party of 5 was an insightful experience bc we had already discussed which background we wanted but when we got there, we actually had a limited selection to choose from bc only some bad grounds can fit large parties. We had to pivot last minute but it still worked out and came out really nice. Tom is the superstar of the show bc he does everything for you! He poses the group but also gives you the technical direction as well - soft smile or big smile with teeth, look here, lift your chin up, put your hand here, etc. I appreciated it bc you know what? Not a single double chin in sight when we got the pics back LOL. I had so much fun both times bc of Tom! His wife handles the appts, check ins, and payments. A very sweet couple and such an awesome small business to support! Definitely looking forward to coming back and doing pics with my dog or myself hehe

Really fun spot for studio photos!…read more We made a reservation for five ahead of time and it looks like five is the most number of people they can fit at one time. You choose a background and the photographer (Tom) leads you through poses and will give you instructions on how to angle your head, where to look, and how to stand, so you don't choose any poses on your own. He does touch you to arrange your group's posing (pushing aside hair, leading you to where to stand, and rearranging prompts). We paid $85 fo a group of five people, got 5 poses (one set of smiling photos and one set of non smiling), and all of the photos are given to you digitally so bring a memory stick. They sell memory sticks there and can print the photos for you, but we stuck to bringing our own. They also sell film. Cash only.
