I especially appreciated what seemed like local art being used throughout the entire house to tastefully decorate -- without going overboard with clutter. That was well done. But, netting out at almost $800/night increases expectations and so it probably deserves more like 3 or 3-1/2 stars. It was a 3 bedroom home and was ok -- nothing fancy or high-end. So maybe the cost was based on the size? Importantly, what we really believed we were paying extra for that would have been worth the money was the "farm stay" aspect. It may have been a house on a farm property, but it was not a "farm stay experience." The only thing that came close were the animals, but their enclosures were small, cramped, on the side of the road (which was steep and hard to walk on), and the animals did not look healthy or well taken care of. The alpaca's fur was matted up and many of the chickens had bald spots on their backs, potentially due to overcrowding, rooster overbreeding, or aggressively going after each other in such a small space for so many hens (and hopefully not from parasites). It was a side show vs. a real farm experience. Back to the house, another attraction in the listing was the hot tub -- but it had a really horrible smell. The towels we used to dry off with kept the smell too. We used it on the first day, but not afterward. It's a shame. If the hot tub issue were fixed, the property is nice enough, but I do believe it is mis-marketed. It'd probably be very appealing for a bigger group who is visiting the Temecula wine country scene, but who doesn't want to be in the middle of the fray and, instead, wants a quieter location that feels off the beaten path. It should not be marketed as a "farm stay." And the poor animals should definitely go, especially as they feel like such an after thought on the property anyhow.

It's not a huge site, so not a ton of walking involved, but there are some steps if you're worried about accessibility. Make sure to wear closed toed shoes! - EXPERIENCE - We booked a Wallaby encounter, and initially I thought it was only going to be a single animal experience but I was pleasantly surprised we were taken on a tour around the area! We did get to feed and pet the Wallaby, but we also walked to see all the different animals in captivity. They also brought out some animals for us to pet and see up close! - OVERALL - A wonderful wildlife preservation site, and amazing staff to take care of them all!

We really enjoyed our conversations with Wes, and he made the entire experience so fun and memorable. Their ranch, along with the time we spent with the beautiful pigs and cows, gave us the chance to disconnect from the stresses of everyday life. We received a complimentary bucket of greens to feed the pigs. Definitely wear clothes you're comfortable getting dirty in - the pigs love the mud, and they also love cuddling up with you! We would love to visit again and stay in their Stargazer Suites that overlook the cows' ranch area!

Visits are by appointment only, so my husband and I booked a session on Valentine's Day. This was hands down the best animal experience we've had, thanks to the amazing staff and adorable animals. The animals were friendly, engaging, and active, which is a testament to how happy and well cared for they are. Each party is given a complimentary bucket of lettuce to feed the animals, with more available for purchase. We got to pet and feed not only mini pigs, but also goats, ducks, chickens, and even a large, handsome turkey. And because it was Valentine's Day, the staff passed around glasses of sparkling wine for guests, which was an extra special touch. The setting is tucked away in a mountainous area, making it feel like a hidden gem off the beaten path. It was the perfect stop on our way to San Diego. We're definitely looking forward to returning again next time!

They were all so cute and well behaved (didn't get spit on) haha. I apologize that I can not recall the name of the great woman who showed us how their coats are handled. I think I was so intrigued with what she was sharing that I didn't catch her name. With that said, it actually was my favorite part! If in the area, I would recommend booking this! Started with a short presentation about the facility and alpacas, then on to the visits. We had a blast getting to feed them and petting them occasionally. Apparently they aren't real fond of it, but you can get a head rub in while they eat. They have such great personalities and are fun to be around. We also got to spend some time getting a lesson on the process of spinning alpacas fur from Nancy. Such a great job showing us how it is done. They also have a small gift shop you can visit after for some really cool alpaca products, post cards, and such. This was an unbelievable experience that I would highly recommend. We are already planning to go back with other family members. Please, give this place a visit!!!

Edit, the owner was so sweet and accommodating and gave us the best private tour of the property! We were able to feed the females and learn a lot about their daily lives and history. This is a pure labor of love and they sell hand spun and hand dyed yarn and felt as well as offer classes to make your own! We'll definitely be back again soon!
