Very professional looking photos. They have a small studio but are generally good in the setup and props. BE WARNED:::: picture people seems to have gone out of business. I made an appointment online for this morning. When my family and i arrived I was shocked to see the store dark and lights off. The door had no signs indicating why they were closed. I was confused as I received several reminder emails up until this AM. Having gone through the trouble of getting twin 2 year olds and a 5 month old dressed up, i called the Buy Buy baby store in bridgewater which also had a Picture People inside the store only to be told they were out of business. The woman at BBB said one day they just didn't show up. How aggravating-- no warning! So here you go- save yourself the trouble! read more

I usually avoid places that have a lot of negative reviews but honestly all these bad reviews have it all WRONG! I went in today for the first time and had the best experience. I want to say the entire staff was friendly. Rebecca the photographer was very professional and patient with us considering we were 10 mins late. She noticed we had an extra outfit and offered to shoot in that outfit as well. I know that this location is in an area where high strung personalities shop so that just has to be it! We took a family portrait here a couple years ago and our photographer definitely made the experience worth while! I think his name was Sean. My brother who's a loyal customer of this company, would always come and request him. We had never done a family portrait before so we didn't really know what to expect. THIS PLACE DESERVES 0 STARS I just wanted to share my extreme disappointment with a session I had for my 1-year-old daughter back in August. First, the Bridgewater Mall location is DIRTY. The props are old, disgusting, broken, paint chipping - just such low low quality. The number "1" we used had chipped paint everywhere - it looked absolutely terrible. I asked if this could be edited in the pictures, and was told by the photographer (and someone who I believe may have been the manager) that they would edit that before I buy the pictures (which they did not). The location as a whole was so dirty - hair, dust, pieces of trash were everywhere. Keep in mind this is a place where children are on the floor - it should be kept clean and sanitized! Next, the photographer. Although she seemed like a nice young woman - she did not seem to know ANYTHING about photography. Not even the basics (how to work the camera, she never asked us about using a backdrop, she did not offer to show us different props, she did not know how to try to make children smile, she was SO TIMID and seemed uncomfortable, she was slow to take pictures, and the majority of the pictures were not centered and/or parts of my daughter's body were cut from the pictures). I was just shocked at the incredible lack of ability this young girl had. To make it worse - the man who seemed to be "managing" that day, was the absolute WORST person we encountered. He was ridiculously pushy, couldn't look me in the eye, and would not stop trying to get me to buy more. I told him specifically that was not happy with the pictures....and all he said was that he could show me the "great packages that could save me money". When he asked me which pictures I liked and which I would want in a frame, I specifically said that I did not like any of them enough to want to frame them. And when he asked me what I would like to buy - I told him that if I absolutely had to buy one thing, It would be just the CD of prints - to which he responded that I should really re-consider the package that was worth over $500 because it included the CD and "so much more". I left feeling DEFEATED. My husband and I were flabbergasted at how POORLY run this establishment was, and how we were feeling verbally attacked by this man trying to sell us pictures we did not want. I understand he is supposed to be a salesman - but he was the WORST one I have ever seen. When he finally agreed to allow us to buy the digital image CD, it then took over 30 minutes to receive before we could leave (there were only two other groups there!). My family and I were not pleased with our experience here. Our pictures had bad lighting (shadows in places), some were crooked, and overall a lack of uniqueness. Certainly we had our own ideas, but our photographer did not offer much, either. Their backdrops seemed a bit lacking. The service was not amazing, either. There was no one at the desk for over 5 minutes, and some other customers actually went up to the computer and started looking at their pictures! The quality of the photos was eh, it was not worth the money we paid. The interior of the store was not terribly dirty, but it was dusty and did not seem cleanly enough for a picture area. All in all, it's an OK place if you want some half-hearted, quick, simple pictures. But if you're looking for decent, quality, family, life-lasting photos, you should look elsewhere. read more

Had a great experience here. Our photographer was Lauren and she was great! She gave us a variety of different backgrounds and different poses and ALL of our shots turned out great. I was very happy with the selection we had at the end. She took the time to engage our son and make him smile and was quick and efficient with a bunch of cute ideas for shots. The staff was definitely busy and the place was definitely crowded, although we went on a Saturday afternoon. Lauren sat down with us after the shoot and went through each individual picture with us and we were able to walk out with our selections that day. We had a beautiful framed Trilogy set and 10 other prints. Our son also had scratched his nose earlier that day and they were able to airbrush it out which was great. Overall very happy with our experience, although they could definitely use to update their decor (their waiting seats were duct taped!) Minus one star because we were given a frame with a scratch on it but they let us exchange it after I called them which was inconvenient but it happens. read more

This was the worst experience I've ever had. Every time we went in there wasn't anyone in the front so we waited until we finally went to the back to find someone. It was over priced, but the pictures were awful. The place, and props were dirty. When we got to The car we looked at the prints, they had lines and ink sploches. The manager was rude, and not accommodating what-so-ever. I called later on to get the number for corprate, but was told there wasn't one. When I finally found a number there was no answer. We decided to take our daughter here for newborn pictures. They're located on the 2nd floor of the Bridgewater Mall right next to Macy's. It's actually a pretty busy place. We had an 8pm tonight and they were running slightly late for that. Prices are actually pretty steep but they're definitely much better than having photos done by a professional photographer. Overall, I thought the pictures turned out pretty decent but I'm just so-so on the place. Everyone was nice but it took forever to check out. That was a little frustrating, especially with a newborn. I can not say enough about Picture People. I have used them several times over the years and each time, I get great results. Today, my very cranky 2 year old was a bit uncooperative and they still got amazing pictures! Not a good experience. My family went yesterday. We had an appointment at 2pm and did not go back for our session until 2:30pm. We didn't leave until 4:00pm. We have a 6 month old but the photographer spent most of her time taking individual pictures of our 7 year old who could follow directions easily, meaning there were only a couple of pictures of our 6 month old who obviously needed more patience/time. We only got two pictures as a family, one of which was a super cheesy "entire family in a prom pose" picture. When my wife asked for another picture of our infant, the photographer agreed but said, "Well, these are usually only 15 minute sessions but.. ok". I don't blame the photographer, who was actually very nice. The person/people in charge of scheduling is/are certainly to blame. There were two photo rooms in the back, one in the "lobby" and three photographers while they had 6-8 families waiting for their turn. This meant that after our rushed photography session, we had to wait another 40 minutes before anyone could go over our pictures with us. So, after 2.5 hours, we ended up paying $200 for the photo CD, 5 prints and a complimentary framed picture (which is the only good thing about the experience). We got a few decent pictures but not enough to ever want to go back. read more

For this reason I made the first appointment of the day I could at 10:20am on a monday (this was appt number 2)- the idea being that i do NOT want to have to wait..that was only going to get everyone bored and crazy and antsy and annoyed. Guess what- we waited 30 minutes before we went to the back. When we were there it was miserably hot and sweaty and everyone was at the end of their rope. Result: we did not get ONE good picture in any of the poses they put the kids in. I was obviously annoyed and said if we hadnt waited a half hour to take a picture, we would have been able to get a shot. She said, 'oh yeah, well, we're short staffed'. NOT MY PROBLEM. Good pictures, obtuse pricing, suspect business practices. My spouse called the store to ask about pricing for some unframed photos and was told she could get a deal of 5 prints for $75. Based on that deal, I booked an appointment for the next day. Upon arrival at their store I could tell their pricing for portraits and prints was purposely nebulous. First red flag. Sure, there are prices for framing and mementos like mugs and mousepads, but NO prices posted anywhere for portraits and prints; which I suspect is the #1 reason anyone would set foot into the store. To their credit, my family and I did not have to wait more than 10 minutes for our session after arrival. I pressed the point about pricing with the photographer by asking to see what my options are for print packages and such. Her response was this would be discussed AFTER the session with their sales associate. Second red flag. Suspicious, I proceeded with the session. After the shoot, we waited another 15 minutes while the employee loaded the pics into the computer. At this point we had committed close to an hour at the store and I was beginning to understand their ploy - get the customer to invest time and energy waiting, taking pics, and waiting some more before FINALLY revealing prices. Third red flag. By then, most people would not want to walk out empty handed and will resign themselves to spending money after getting over the sticker shock. When my wife brought up the 5 prints for $75, the sales person matter of factly told us this deal is no longer available but we could print each for $18 or pick any of a number of other packages that all started over 100 bucks. Bait and switch. Fourth red flag. In conclusion, I don't do business with anyone I can't trust. I can't trust these folks and neither should you unless you like being schemed and manipulated. My advice to Picture People is: be more transparent, honest, and up front about your photo packages and we might do business again. Don't keep your prices a big secret read more

Despite other bad reviews, my sister and I came here to take sibling pictures for our mother for a (very late) mother's day gift. Photos came out great, and the overall process went very smoothly. Rachel was our photographer and was very nice and extremely efficient. We had an 11am appointment and got in exactly on time, and we're all said and done by 1130 (including pictures printed and framed). We didn't have issues with anyone we dealt with. I went to this location despite the bad reviews I read. That was the wrong move. My main purpose to take a family portrait for Christmas cards. The photographer (who seemed extremely nice) took about 10 different posses of my children, all together, etc. However, when we viewed the pictures they were horrible. No attention to details what-so-ever! In addition the sales person made no effort to try to enhance the pics or anything. 15mins with a baby and dress change..and there were 6 people but still they would give only 15mins..because while booking it said 1 - 6 people if it was 7 or more it would give 30mins.. For a Cd with 15photos its 150 dollars..so give us some time..it was all mechanical..We were there for the Maternity photos and because of the photographer we were in a hurry and did not have the moments (pictures) which we came for.. And even though no body was there in the photo studio after us they would not give extra time..The extra courteous thing they did was there Grandpa and Grandma came late after 15mins..so she allowed for a group pic..they wanted to have individual pics and others but no ..it allows one session per one group in a day.. I have been coming to picture people since 2011 (I moved from Boston)..to New jersey..this is the worst experience I had. I needed professional business photos and I was very pleased with the end-result. Not only does she know how to get the best shots, she gives excellent customer service. Had desired for a portrait with my baby and family . Certainly the expectations and outcome of the photographs are below standard. The photographer cropped the hands of the people standing in the corners. The focus of the portrait session was the baby , but in all pictures taken of the baby with the family the baby is just visible to the neck.This was totally bad. The individual baby pictures were okay .last but not the least the photographer took multiple pictures nevertheless but did not prompt for any retake in case of a blinked eye or a closed eye. As a result out of the pictures chosen the few of them were with the blinked eye. The photographer must tell the customer if the eye was seen closed or the posing dint turn our well. Very disappointed! You get 20 minutes and what ever pictures they take is what you get. This is unacceptable with a preschooler. Our photos were horrible and when I asked for a longer session to ensure better photos I was told 20 mins is all we get even if we rescheduled. I have used a different location with better results and more patience not to mention more shots all for the same cost. Not good especially for kids. Who wants a bunch of goofy pics for good money? This place used to be great for simple family photos and portraits.. I'm not sure what happened to the place but the backdrops are dirty and wrinkled, the staff looks like they were hired based on their Instagram photos and it is very crowded and unorganised! My family had their photos taken and we were told we have to come back to view them and it would have to be within 2 days or the photos are discarded. Are they serious?! Who has time for that crap.. I had one good experience here with a photographer named Danny who was very patient when I brought my dog for photos. Other than that the place seems to be run by wannabe photographers. Terrible service. Terrible pricing. Waited an hour for our pictures after waiting two hours to get in after calling ahead a couple weeks in advanced while people who came the day of walked in before me at my time. Oh and they "lost" my pictures on a "corrupt" card, afterwards they made us wait for another hour to finally get our pictures. We are at four hours at this point. Then when we got the pictures digitalized, it took another hour to get to this point, they basically forced us to buy pictures that we did NOT want. Thanks guys!! read more

We have been using PP at Bridgewater Commons Mall for approximately 7 years. We always had been happy with everything until a few days ago. In the course of time, I have noticed how the managers of the studio have been replaced many times. My wife and I are very upset with the last visit. We were there for photographs of our 8 year-old daughter. When picking for photos to buy them, the lady tells me, who by the way did not let us even sit on the benches to see the pictures, as she sat in the middle of the screen at the customer side of the table and we had to stay up, I mentioned that I wanted to buy the photos that I liked, but she told me NO! I remain puzzled and asked another young man working in the studio and he said I had to use my club card, to which I said no, I would pay for my photos. They did not let me buy my photos! I returned home very upset looking online for a policy or something telling me that I have to use the club card, and FOUND NOTHING. The club card clearly states the rules and does not mention anything about that either. I returned the following week to purchase my photos and the young man who already knew my name, and following the managers instructions, told me he was not going to give me my photos! I purchased a Groupon for photos for an early Mother's Day present and was worried with all the negative comments. To my surprise, it went great! The photographer (I can't remember her name) was very patient with my young children (one was 6 months) and took as many pictures as she could to ensure I got some great shots! I had pictures of my three children taken (all ages 4 and under), and our pictures came out excellent. I did not think the place was dirty at all. Where do I begin with the lack of customer service and the way they consistently fail to treat customers - ESP as a 'portrait rewards member'. There is also an inconsistency based on mood on how to treat groupons purchased. Amanda and the studio manager Lisa - just rude in behavior and attitude. AWFUL - go anywhere else! After nine years getting Christmas cards there, I am 100% certain that we will never be going back - for Christmas cards or photos. Over the years, the service has continuously gone down - and our experience today was the last straw. The photographer could not have been less helpful or engaging in getting our 3 (little!) kids to look at the camera. I'm 6 months pregnant, and I was the one moving props in/out of the shots, moving the kids in different positions. She was terrible. And the girl who sat with us to review the photos was even worse. With the first 2 photos she said, "which one do you want?". I asked can we please go through all the pictures first? She was clearly in such a rush. When we hadn't even gotten through 5 pictures, out comes the guy trying to sell us on the massive frame and prints he's put together. No, I don't want a massive frame and prints... I'm here for Christmas cards. Clearly not listening to what our needs were and didn't care. Showing me the Christmas card templates, she showed me a few and then said, "and the rest are basically just like all the others." Um... can you SHOW them to me first?? Once we finally decided on a card and the photos on the card she said, "I'll just go print them up and then meet you at the front." Um... don't you want our NAME to include on the card?!?!?! She said, "Oh yeah..." so annoyed that I didn't want someone else's name on my Christmas card and actually wanted to take the time to write my OWN FAMILY's name on OUR OWN cards. I was so annoyed by the entire 10 minutes with her, we decided not to give you all our money. Ridiculous. They certainly did not live up to their "The Picture People Promise" like they advertise. It was chaos when I visited their store. They need to hire more "people," especially during the pre-Christmas season. My appointment was at 2 pm and by then the photographers were already exhausted. They had seen one too many uncooperative toddlers by then, so when it was my children's turn, ages 8 and 14, the guy looked like he wanted to trash his camera. He took basic poses in a hurry paying no attention to hair misplacements, feet positions, or proper smiles. I had to step in to do it. He didn't even try to make them giggle or do silly poses. The best was when he walked in with a pathetic-looking Christmas tree apologizing that it looked Charlie Brownish since other photographers were plucking ornaments off it for their photo shoots. He was actually planning on using it until I stopped him! When it was time to select a pose, I was assigned to a guy who was put in that position for the first time, so he was patient enough as I, the doting mom, tried to choose the best photo of her children. Then, for some reason, right in the middle of narrowing down a photo, a young woman took his place - and she had an attitude! I purchased a "Groupon" for this session and wouldn't go back if it were free. read more

I made an appointment to get pictures taken of my 4 month old son. I heard rave reviews of the picture people brand from family members and other friends so wanted to give it a shot. Unfortunately I was extremely disappointed. As said in one of the other reviews, the photographer really made a very minimal effort in trying to get my son to smile! The two good shots that were taken were ones that I got my son to pose for. If im the one doing all the work, why should I go to a professional portrait studio for this? In addition, she only took about 10 shots and rushed off to another client who I literally sat and watched she took at least 40-50 shots of! Very rude. Afterwards my consultation to chose the photos was also not nice. The girl kept trying to get me to buy invitations from them and their selection was really not nice. Before I ramble on I'll make my point, I will NOT be returning here. My hopes are that maybe a different location will have better workers and do a better job because this one did not live up to the picture people name! read more

I had a terrible experience at this particular picture people on 2 occasions. The most recent was yesterday. I oroginally had an appointment for earlier in the week when I received a call from a staff member afvising that their pronter was not working and asking if I would lije to reschedule. I accepted tge offer to reschedule but expressed my concern because now I would have 2 sessions for my son on the same day, one by himself and one with his cousins. I had a coupon for each session and was advised by the staff member that would be fine to use both coupons on the same day. Of course when the day came I was told by the manager on duty that was not correct information. And if I could give her the name of the manager who I spoke to she would allow me to use both coupons. My issue was that I did not know the name of the person I spoke to. And besides they offered to move my appointment being that their printers were down. Long story short, this particular manager is not customer friendly. My session was sub par at best. Ice been a portrait member. Ive used them several times. But this particular manager has no people skills. I will not return to this particular establishment. There are several other places where I can spend my money but this picurw peopke will not see another dime. read more
