Pictures capture important moments in your life. You can certainly find deals online, or clip coupons for your department store photo studio. You'll save a few bucks, but you'll greatly sacrifice quality. I used to do this by going to Picture People and JCP, but no longer. I would rather have my precious moments beautifully captured, because you can never recreate these moments. In fact, I now regret going to JCP and Picture People in the past, because the quality was not as good, and I can never redo newborn shots with my eldest kid. Like others, we used to go to Picture People. In a way it was good that they closed because it allowed us to find At Home Studios. Ken and Stephanie are absolutely wonderful. A few differences between Ken and your typical portrait studio: 1. At regular studios like JCP or Sears, random people are trained on how to use a camera. It's not their full time profession; it just provides a paycheck. Whereas with At Home Studios, Ken's passion is photography and that is all he has done for most of his life. The passion is evident in the fact that his pictures are far superior to anything you could get in a department store. 2. They treat you like family. At Picture People we had to wait 30-60 minutes, even with a scheduled appointment. And we had to wait another 30-60 minutes just to get our pictures on CD. Not to mention them rushing you through the photo shoot so they could take more customers. It was a dreadful experience, whereas we were welcomed into Ken and Stephanie's home like we were family, and didn't have to wait in a queue. 3. Ken is absolutely wonderful with kids, and very patient. He was patient with us as our newborn needed to feed and also change an outfit. Our toddler wasn't interested in looking at the camera, but Ken took care of that with his humor. Our toddler was still talking about him for days after we left. 4. At the typical portrait studio, they only give you about 8-10 shots, whereas Ken gives you much more (all of the good ones). I was always surprised that Picture People used to take so many pictures during the sessions, but only gave us limited number on CD. 5. If you are going to frame your pics, ask Ken to do it. He will touch it up and it will look much better than doing it yourself at CVS or Walgreens. Ken has more expertise on touching up pics than a traditional studio would. And request the frames that day, or you'll never get around to it. Ken and Stephanie aren't pushy and not after every penny like Picture People used to be; you'll have to ask if you want specific prints. Picture People never used to let you leave until you listened to their sales pitch, which was quite annoying when you've already been waiting around in the store for 2 hours. 6. By the end of the session, I felt as if we were with family. In a world where encountering rude people has unfortunately become normal, it was refreshing to meet some really nice people. 7. US Military dignity: Ken and Stephanie have a military family. Their children serve and have been stationed in various places. Being away from your family and pledging your life for your country requires honor and dignity. It is not just an individual sacrifice, but that of the entire military family. This is highly relevant, because such a high level of dignity means that you won't feel cheated. They will do their best to provide you with what you came for, and won't take shortcuts. Ken and Stephanie's art will be with us for the rest of our lives. It's so much more beautiful than anything else we have gotten from the department stores. We're so happy to have found them. read more

We did a newborn shoot and got some family pictures with the little one. Working with a 20 days old isn't easy and Ken was extremely patient with us. Whenever the baby got a little fussy, he allowed us to feed and soothe her. They have quite a few costumes that we could use. End pictures are lovely and Ken made the whole experience very peaceful. read more

Ken did an amazing job for our wedding. Not only are his pics perfect, but his "bedside manner" as a photographer is like no other. He's extremely accommodating and goes above and beyond to ensure the customer's vision comes to life. I was shocked when my wedding reception was over and Ken was still there with camera in hand! I highly recommend At Home Studios for any of your photography needs. read more

Quick to respond and provided the useful information we needed to proceed. Excellent and helpful people working there.

Ken has been taking school pictures at our Day care for over 20 years and that is for a very good reason! He is by far the best photographer there is. He is able to put the children at ease and his patience and humor always guarantee a smile and beautiful photo. Parents are always excited for picture day and eagerly purchase the photo packages. They often tell me how thrilled they are with his work especially compared to the company the public school uses.Ken works tirelessly to get the right shot, including our group class pictures which is no easy task, but he makes it look easy. If you want personable and professional photos, don't look anywhere else, call Ken and Stephanie for the best! read more

Ken is one of the most kindest and professional photographers I have ever met. I was passing through NJ from RI to meet up with my regular photographer, unfortunately he was not available and I needed new headshots asap for my pageant announcement . I am not too familiar with the area so was very hesitant to go somewhere new. I saw that At Home Studios had a lot of great reviews so I decided to send in a quote. Ken reached out within seconds and was nice enough to set up an appointment with me so last minute! The photo shoot was phenomenal. He was great to work with and had lots of great advice on posses for not haven taken pageant photos before. After the shoot he allowed me to pick which one I wanted and I was able to sit there and watch him edit the pictures exactly how I wanted it. My pictures came out fantastic and I couldn't be happier with the quality of the photos! As the 2017 Miss Rhode Island United States title holder I will definitely be using Ken's services again! read more

I hired Ken to shoot headshots for my company website. He was professional and skilled and made me feel very at ease. Scheduling the appointment was flexible and easy. The photos were very well done and he took the time to recommend which shots he felt were best. He also took photos of me in front of a green screen to simulate me presenting, and they were very realistic. I had the photos I needed quickly, and he also provided varying cropped version to match the different publications requirements. Overall, Ken is professional, skilled, and priced very reasonably. I would definitely hire him again. read more

My wife and I had our business headshots taken by Ken this past weekend. I called and made an appointment over the phone and we setup a date and time to have the photoshoot at Ken's Home studio. The place and setup was professional and easily accessible. Ken was warm, friendly and easy going during the photoshoot. He put us at ease by making jokes and by the time you have your photo taken it's clear that Ken is very good at his job and knows exactly what he's doing. After the photos were taken Ken reviewed the photos on the PC with us, helped us pick the photos and edited the photos to make it look better. Our overall experience was exceptional and we cannot recommend Ken highly enough for business headshots or family portraits. I know that we will go to Ken for all our future photography needs. read more

Ken is an outstanding photographer. I was recently researching photographers for a professional office photo shoot and luckily came across Ken's company. I called in and Stephanie promptly arranged an appointment for the following week. Ken arrived 10 minutes early, with full equipment, and setup his lights and background in a spare office room I had. He photographed my office's team individually (about 6 people) and conducted a wonderful a group shot (free of charge) at the end. Ken was a joy to work with was extremely entertaining throughout the whole process. The head shots were all wonderful and he immediately allowed us to copy all of them on our computer for immediate use. If you are looking for a wonderful photographer, with a great eye and personality, then look no further! read more

June 1, 2014 At Home Studios was taking pictures at my kids Karate School. I would have loved to have a great picture of my kids in their karate uniforms but sadly, they picked a back drop that did not go with the karate theme and looked aweful with their red uniforms. At Home Studios refusing to refund my money. I never received any pictures from them. In fact, the owners are telling me I have to get refunded by the karate school?? beware of this business they steal your money. read more

I first met Ken in 1997 when I hired him to take engagement pictures for us. Hard to believe that was 17 years ago!!!. Since that first photo shoot, he has also shot my wedding, captured pictures of the first 12 months of each of my four children's first years (I look at these collages every day and smile - what a great keepsake), and every Christmas in between. This was no easy task. I had 4 children within 5 years. I will never forget the year when my children were 1, 3, 5 and 6. It's hard enough to get a good picture of 1 child, but he somehow was able to get an amazing picture of ALL four children smiling AND looking at the camera... and has continued to do so. He has the patience of a saint! Every year we look forward to our annual Christmas shoot ... my children now 9, 11, 13, and 14. Ken and Stephanie have become like family to us. They have traveled to our events, come to our home, and we have gone to his studio dozens upon dozens of time. He never disappoints. For this year's Christmas picture, he had taken so many great shots that it was hard to choose "the picture" for the card. There were too many to choose from. Ken and Stephanie are a pleasure to work with. They are flexible, professional, and wonderful with kids and pets!. After all these years, Ken can always come up with a new pose or a new twist to keep things fresh. Thank you for capturing my family's life with your camera for so many years! read more

I just got home after my session with Ken and I wanted to write a review immediately because it is rare that I am so impressed with a service I receive. Ken truly exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend hiring him for any photos you need. The end product was great, the price was great and Ken was very enjoyable to work with. The session was quick, which I appreciated but he was very attentive and made me feel as though I was an important client even though it was our first meeting. I will definitely be sending people his way. read more

Ken did the shoots for our office. He came straight to our office, quickly set up, and we were done in about 2 hours- we had 30 people! Prices were also extremely affordable. Will absolutely use again! read more

I'm so happy to have chosen Ken and Stephanie to photograph my wedding in 2014. They are amazing! Their ability to capture details is very impressive. In 2015 we did a monthly photo shoot with our daughter and as a wedding gift from the photographers, they put together a monthly collage that we will treasure forever. Ken and Stephanie are very personable and make you feel very comfortable during the photo shoot. Ken is great with children and always manages to get the best smiles from my 2 year old daughter. We are now working on our second monthly collage for our newborn daughter. Stephanie's ability to set up the scenery for pictures with props always amazes me. Ken is quick to provide digital files from the days photo shoot. They are affordable, and the quality of prints are great. We always look forward to seeing Ken and Stephanie. I would highly recommend At Home Studios for any occasion. They do headshots and passport photos as well. Go check them out! read more
