I have not received a returned phone call as of yet from Andrea the manager at the Picture People. Andrea informed me that she would give me a call sometime after 4 pm yesterday. Someone ( unfamiliar number ) did give me a call at 4:18 pm but didn't leave a message. I tried calling that number back numerous times and received a busy signal. Short version: Price was reasonable for a photo place in the mall and the quality was acceptable, but as many reviewers have pointed out, the wait and the lack of communication were unacceptable. They do answer your questions in a friendly and satisfactory manner, but they do not take the initiative to update you while you are waiting. Looks like this trend has continued for years. Long version: The staff seemingly spends very little time, if at all, at the front desk. When I first arrived (no one was working at the front desk, typical of the countless times I have walked by the store on my mall visits), I waited for a good 20 mins until patience ran out and I walked into the backroom down the hallway with the computer screens to see the 3 staff members back there chilling (they were not with customers). I needed passport photos and the guy seemingly in charge (Antonio) said they'd be $16 with 4 copies of the same photo printed. I asked about whether the picture would be available to me in jpeg, and Antonio said "no," unless I pay another $40 for a picture disk... ok, at that insane price, no thanks. It turned out Antonio was the photographer and on the 5th headshot we found the picture I liked. I was not told how long I'd need to wait for the pictures to be printed. It turned out it took another 15-20 minutes. Finally finished, the pictures were acceptable. read more

I made an appointment with Picture People to get some last minute holiday photos done. I read some reviews online before going in and most of them were not so great. Needless to say, I was pretty nervous. A common theme seemed to be that they were bad at recognizing appointment times and if this were true, I could only imagine how bad it would be 3 days before Christmas. We got there about 20 minutes early and the place was packed. I readied myself for a long wait, especially since we were so early. The person behind the counter was helpful and nice as I filled out the paperwork and took a seat. They called us back maybe 10 minutes later! The girl who took my daughter's pictures was very friendly and good at making her smile. She was also pretty efficient, which was great when you have an antsy 10 month old. We were told to wait in the lobby again until the photos were available to view. Once again, I prepared myself for arduous wait, but this time it only took about 15 minutes. And the photos all came out really good...so good in fact that I decided to just buy them all on a disk. The guy who rang us up was also very friendly and everyone was so sweet to my little girl. All in all, I was completely shocked and pleased by how well it all went and would go back again in a heartbeat. I would suggest maybe getting there early if you have an appointment. I'm not sure if that helped us or not, but it couldn't hurt. read more

Our photographer Tiffany was great. But the rest of experience was poor. We were the first appointment of the day and had to wait 20 minutes with our 2 year old to get back to the room. After our session it took almost 2 hours to get our prints after we were told 20 minutes. We sat there watching customer after customer, who had session after us, receive their prints and leave. No discount offered or applied when asked for. Terrible service all around. read more

We typically have pictures taken with professional photographers but this season we were a bit late with scheduling and decided to take them at the mall. We found that this place had a groupon which was a plus. Since we had a groupon we had to call in to make an appointment rather than use the online option (at least the groupon said to call). We came a bit early and had to wait about 30 minutes to take our pictures taken. The photographers are okay and we had a lot of poses. The poses were pretty generic, but they were different for us. Then we wanted to view our pictures. This portion pissed me off. I waited over 40 minutes at this point. When it was our turn the software died and currently there isn't an estimated time for when it will be fixed. Now I am writing this review with with no updates from the staff. At this point I was ready to give this place one star. Then after waiting for a while the software was back up, we got to view our photos. We then quickly ordered one picture (groupon) and ordered the rest of the pictures on a cd. Then we paid and left. The guy that helped us at the end was nice so in the end we didn't leave angry. The main thing is that the people are pretty nice and they will answer your questions when you ask, but they don't keep you up to date regarding problems that can cause delays. read more

Very professional and friendly. Ashton was our photographer and let me tell you he was amazing. He kept the baby in awe, however she stared at him so closely all he could do was laugh. He said she was the first baby to respond to him the way she did. I would recommend this establishment. read more

We had a GREAT experience. We had an appt, however arrived earlier than our timeslot and there was no trouble getting started earlier. Our photographer, Caroline, took so many wonderful pictures of my daughter that we had a difficult time in choosing. I loved that there was NO SITTING FEE and loved that we could view the pictures on the large computer screen minutes after the pictures were taken. We grabbed a snack within the mall and came back to pick up our photos. It was an easy, quick, and pleasant experience overall. read more

I had low expectations going to a mall photo shop. But I was very happy with the entire experience. My photographer was amazing. My son was terrified, and the photographer did a great job making him feel comfortable. The photos turned out great. They even helped me design my Christmas cards. I went in mid November for my holiday pictures. So I'm assuming it will be much more rushed if you go with everyone else in December. So I recommend not waiting to the last minute. My husband and I had a couples session back in October 2017 and then I had my graduation session in April 2018. I paid to have both sessions stored online so that I could go back and print what we wanted. I had some prints done immediately following each session but we had family who wanted to pick their own pictures to have printed. When I went on the site mid May, I could not log in. I received a message saying that the site was under construction and would be up shortly. Here it is months later and I went on the site to try to login again and there is no where to access my account. I am hoping that someone can help. The two locations where I had my pictures taken (White Marsh and Columbia Malls) are no longer there. I just want my pictures. read more

This was my second trip here. The first was slightly above average; this trip was AWFUL! The photographer, Nick, needs to be more creative. We purchased two separate poses, the silhouette of the boys in the review picture was much brighter than the prints. The manager wanted to do nothing but argue with us. His I don't care attitude just infuriated me. To make matters worse the 16x20 picture was not in our bag when we arrived home. There was no need to contact them, I already knew the attitude I would receive. We do not intend to go back. The last time we had pictures done, it was here and JC Penny - the ones from Penny's were a much better value. read more

We just took my seven month old son for holiday photos/ family photos and was so very impressed by our photographer Hannah! She got so many amazing shots of our son and set up some beautiful scenes. She even snapped a great photo and caught him when he started to tip over! If you need holiday photos of your little one go see Hannah! read more

I've been to location several times before. I didn't like that fact that you had to what 45 minutes to an hour when you had an appointment. After you finally get your pictures taking you had to wait another hour to get your pictures. Now fast forward to now. They are now under new management. We were seen at time of our appointment, the photo session was great. The photos came out wonderful. I honestly liked everything up to when one of their associates came and sat with us when view our photos and write down all the photos you chose. I felt like we couldn't take our time and make a decision on what pictures we wanted with someone sitting there and making us uncomfortable. I totally understand the reason behind them doing it. My opinion on the matter is that you should at least get five minutes or so without them being there with you. We were also upset that the associated didn't get what we asked for right in the end. We didn't realize that it was wrong until we got home. We were really upset. I called the next day to let someone now what happen and I was told that we had a coupon. I was told that they wouldn't honor my coupon because it was the next day. So now we have to pay full price for their mistake. I don't think we will be going back anytime soon. read more

I wish I had read the reviews of the other locations before going here. I purchased a high-resolution CD of the pictures but the quality of the CD pictures is nowhere near that of those taken in the studio (my little point and shoot camera prints better pictures). I tried to remedy the problem without real success. In addition, their prints are very expensive to purchase in the store. Next time, I will be returning to JCPenney. read more

Our pictures turned out great considering I had two one year boys to get to look at the camera at the same time. The photographer was very patient and great with the boys. That's the only reason they are getting 3 stars. It took 10 mins before anyone even acknowledged we were there. It took another 10 mins to get us back in the room. After the pictures were finished, it took 25 minutes just to look at the pictures, but they printed out right away which was nice. I didn't like that I asked the guy working there his opinion between two pictures, and he suggested I get both. Don't you think if I had the money I would have? Good pictures, but expect to be there for an hour or more. read more

I was in the White March studio on March 29, 2013 to have my daughter's pictures taken. This was the first and last time I would ever use the location in the White Marsh Mall. The problems started in studio. I had an appointment for 5:10 pm, following the directions on the website I arrived in the studio at 4:50 pm. We did not enter the area to have the pictures taken until 6:20 pm, which is a whole hour and ten minutes after my appointment. After the pictures were taken I had to wait over an hour to sit down at a terminal to view the pictures. I viewed the pictures and was ready to make my selection but I had to wait another 30 minutes for someone to return to help me. At this point I was ready to just walk out of the studio. I agreed to purchase a package that included a high resolution CD of all the pictures taken. Given how long it took to just have the pictures and order taken I knew that it would probably be a long time before my prints and CD was ready. I left and went for diner and returned to the store to pickup my prints and CD. In preparation for a trip to visit my family I wanted to print out some of the pictures from the CD. But when I put the CD in the computer I was surprised to find out I paid over $200.00 for a blank CD. I have used the picture people location in NJ in the past without any issue. But my experience with the White Marsh location was so terrible I would probably never return to any picture people location. Do yourself a favor and avoid this location. read more

After a ridiculously long time spent waiting around when I came here 2 years ago with an infant, I vowed to never, ever return. We wanted an updated professional pic of my toddler though, so I decided to give this place another go. I thought that it would be better this time since I had made an appointment. Big mistake. Appointments don't matter at this establishment, which is run by zombie-like employees who are nowhere to be found as they mostly lurk in the back office; when they do appear, they barely acknowledge you and could care less that you and most other customers have children who are now screaming, since they have been stuck in this place for 2 hours and counting. Save yourself the headache and hire an independent photographer (tons of reputable ones can be found online)...it will be way less stressful and odds are that their backgrounds won't be scuffed up and dirty and they will actually know how to properly crop images and develop prints that are true to size and not off-center. read more

I had an appointment for a 3mo shoot at 2:40 the other day. I arrived at 2:30 and was not even checked in til 3:05 and then proceeded to wait another 20 minutes to be called back into the room. At this point I am beyond frustrated and my daughters clothes are getting all wrinkly and slobbered on. The lack of support props for an infant was disappointing. Thankfully, I knew exactly what I wanted, what shot I wanted etc so I didn't mess around once we were in to take pictures. BUT after that was done, I waited for another 20-30 minutes to see the pictures. Who knows what the other 4 employees were doing during this time. Once it was finally our turn to view our pictures, it went quickly cause I only had a few shots to decide from. I'm not sure if I'll return to this studio. The wait time is horrendous. The picture bundle I got for the price is the only reason I'm giving it 2 stars. I will probably stick with JCPennys or independent studios next time. read more
