We arrived around 5:15pm and were seated right away. We ordered the Beer Battered Fish Tacos, Chicken Mango Tacos, and Chicken Empanada. The Fish Tacos were the star of the show, but everything was sooo good. For drinks, we got a Mango Margarita, Passion Fruit Margarita, Mango Mojito, and Strawberry Mojito. The Margaretas were strong but still delicious, and the Mojitos were not as strong but also delicious. They have a variety of flavors for both drinks, though they were out of the Peach and Cucumber flavors. There were multiple servers helping out, so there was always someone nearby when we needed something. My only negative is that we were sat right under a speaker, and the music was loud enough that I had to shout to be heard, but the music was very groovy so I didn't mind all too much.

Nothing tasted repetitive, which we really appreciated. The service was great from start to finish--friendly, attentive, and quick without feeling rushed. Solid spot for tacos if you want variety and good flavors. Would definitely come back.

First time visiting and it definitely won't be my last! This restaurant has been around for about…read moresix years, and I'll admit I had previously dismissed it because it's located in an outer strip of stores where Harmon and Bed Bath & Beyond once were. I truly wish I hadn't--because I was thoroughly impressed with the food, the décor, the service, and the extensive menu. There are so many dishes I want to come back and try. From the moment we walked in, the restaurant impressed us with its vibrant, themed décor and incredibly friendly staff who made us feel right at home. Warm tortilla chips with chunky salsa and glasses of water were brought to our table immediately after we sat down, which was a great start. They have a full-service bar, and while they don't offer frozen cocktails, we honestly didn't miss them. I had a coconut margarita, and my husband enjoyed a passionfruit rum cocktail. He doesn't drink tequila, so I asked if rum could be substituted, and they were more than happy to accommodate. He chose a Tajín rim, while I opted for sugar instead of salt. Both drinks were strong, flavorful, and served in really nice, heavy margarita glasses. We both chose specials from the House Special Grill, and wow--what a great decision. My husband had the skirt steak and jumbo shrimp, served with a creamy corn salsa, and he loved every bite. I ordered the grilled steak with sautéed onions, homemade tortillas, cactus pad (nopales), rice, and beans. Everything tasted fresh, authentic, and perfectly prepared. We ended the night on a high note with dessert--one of the best flans I've ever had--paired with a glass of hot Mexican coffee. Absolutely delicious. Amazing food, great drinks, welcoming service, and a fun atmosphere. Highly recommend!

DISCRIMINATORY MAN ASKED ME TO PAY UPFRONT ON Thursday AUGUST 7th, 2025 at 10:45 Pm…read more Note: I've been there three times and I just picked up Tamales at the counter . This would be the first time I would sit down to eat in . Male: worker / manager supervisor or owner? approached me after I had ordered to eat in and sat down ( he's middle aged , big built , black hair , black mustache & wore Glasses w/black frames). Male Comes up-to me where I'm sitting and says, " You Have to pay now ". I ask: Oh, is the register closing ? He says: NO. But YOU have to pay up front otherwise I won't make the food. I ask: why? He says: ( hemming and hawing ) uhhh..( he mutters )you don't speak Spanish and I know that you won't pay. You have to pay now or we are not going to prepare the food . I ask again: what? Why? He says : I just told you we won't serve you unless you pay first. I know you wont pay". And he walks away. By now all the other customers have turned around and sone were whispering or shaking their heads and looking at me like I was sone kind of outcast or criminal . I get up and walk to the counter and remembered I had withdrawn cash to pay the painter for painting supplies . I flash a bundle of $100 bills at him. His body language immediately changes and he starts fidgeting and looks embarrassed and starts stuttering avoiding eye contact. I ask for his name . He says he won't provide it. A senior and elderly Peruvian lady who works there walks to him (behind the cashier counter ) all the while she's giving me disturbingly dirty looks and starts whispering. Into his ear, all the while pointedly staring at me. Now after being publicly humiliated I tell him he's a racist and Walk out . The most apparent thing was that this man took pleasure in humiliating me .. He had a scary Gleam in his eyes and a smirk when he spoke to me . I've already made a complaint to the civil liberties Union . Since I'm not African American, I feel this mans blatant disregard and disrespect allegedly runs deep towards people of non Spanish cultures. Mex food is my favorite and the food may be good at this restaurant but we are not talking about that . What is being talked about is something that needs to be immediately addressed and these two employees ( that man and the senior elderly Peruvian female worker ) certainly need a mandatory class on how to treat all customers equally and with respect no matter their race, gender, background and religious beliefs .

The interior is a typical Mexican restaurant that you can find in Mexico! I feel like I am in Mexico! Service: the server was nice! And always wear a smile! Food: Authentic Mexican foods!! GUACAMOLE and CHIPS: omg the best guac I ate, it was done fresh, you can see the uneven mash of guac! It has a hint of lemon and the chips are freshly fried! TOSTADA de CECINA, TOSTADA de CARNE ENCHILADA and TOSTADA de BISTEC: another favorite, the mashed beans with the crunchy tostada. Afcourse in Mexico they have better tostada, but this is good as well. CHALUPAS: we ordered with salsa verde and salsa roja, both is good! HORCHATA: omg this is good, freshly made, taste like sesame drink. Price rating: 4 out of 10. It is so cheap! Huge serving! Authentic Mexican and very delicious! Cheap as well so you can't go wrong with this! Get the guacamole!!

You'd think with places like Sundance Kitchen, Cantina, and Roof Taco down the block, this…read morerestaurant would want to go out of its way to keep customers, but it turns out the opposite is true. They couldn't care less. I recently moved to the neighborhood and was genuinely hoping to make Catrina my go-to Mexican spot, but after how I was treated, I'd rather spend my money elsewhere. It was around 3:30 PM on a Sunday and the place was practically empty -- only two tables occupied outside and one inside. I ordered a burrito bowl, which came out to $20 after tax, and sat down at one of the outdoor metal tables to eat. A woman from behind the bar came outside and, in a very rude and dismissive tone, told me I was not allowed to eat there and essentially kicked me out. There was no politeness, no explanation, no attempt at hospitality whatsoever. What made it even worse was that I ended up having to eat my food sitting on the street next door after just buying it from them. It was honestly embarrassing and completely unnecessary, especially considering how empty the restaurant was. The unfortunate part is that the burrito bowl itself was actually very good. But when the service is rude and you make a paying customer feel unwelcome and embarrassed, it ruins the food. A good meal stops feeling enjoyable when it comes attached to that kind of treatment. Customer service matters just as much as the food, and after the way I was treated, this became an instant 1-star experience for me. First impressions matter, and unfortunately this one guaranteed I won't be coming back.
