Just used them highly recommended. They are really professional and delivered everything on time. My party looked wonderful.

Coincidentally, I bookmarked this place on Madison St. in downtown Forest Park, approximately ten (10) to fifteen (15) minute walking distance from either CTA Harlem or Forest Park Blue Line station. The owner was friendly and offering assistance when Dad was mumbling about combat boots. Unfortunately, he didn't have much luck on finding his size. By the way, guys, for your information he wears women's size 7.5! There were some fun t-shirts, caps, beanies, outerwear, jumpsuits, and trousers with police and military themes. However, most of their items were priced on a much higher side. I was about to commit on purchasing a Chicago-flag t-shirt, substituting stars with skulls. I decided not to due to the intimidating caption and hefty price ($18 for a t-shirt). It was cool to see a dressing room for customer use. We had a great time browsing through the aisles. Items were well-organized in categories. If you were into collecting military and police gadgets, this shop would be appropriate for you to poke around.

And on an on an on an on and on. And on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on. And on and on and on and on and on an on and on and on and on and on. It was a long time. I waited. And I waited some more. I did some serious waiting five feet away in a red sweater. No acknowledgment. No letting me know it might be a while. But that would've likely stopped the upselling I started to see. So I turned me and my bike around and left. It's hard for me to be on my feet that long. That's why I bike. Dood has a right to be into his subject matter. Usually shops want you to feel comfortable and respected as somewhat of a priority, even if you aren't being directly pitched at the moment... it just was not a good vibe. All doods working there when I was in. Way heavy on the dood vibe. Captive audience syndrome. Sigh. Dood has to do what a dood does. I avoid places like this. Going to the bike collective in Rogers Park instead next time.

Other years we've adopted a used bike that needs some TLC. This week they are working on upgrades to my kids' road bikes to make them better suited to racing on the velodrome in Northbrook. As always, the guy who helped us (Kyle) was knowledgeable about the options and had good advice about how to proceed. I knew that would be the case and knew that the shop is always fair about labor costs, which is why I brought the bikes back from Northbrook to have the work done. Long story short, this place is great, and you won't regret giving it your business.

The day of the tour we get a text saying it will be three hours. That meant we had to scramble to see if our babysitter could stay at least an hour longer. Second, they put a green light on each kayak on each so it can be seen at night on the river (we did the fireworks tour). I am not exaggerating when I say half of the kayaks on the tour lights were out on the way to the fireworks. That made me feel unsafe and anxious. It also made it more difficult to figure out who our tour guides were because at least two tour guides' lights went out as well. Third, they directed us to "park" (not sure how else to put it) for the fireworks in a spot that the other kayak tour groups seemed to very clearly know was to be avoided because a giant boat was going to dock there. This resulted in our group being yelled at by another kayaking group that we should leave for our own safety because a boat was going to dock there. Then the boat was descending upon us and we had to play kayak-frogger across the river in a mad dash at the last minute while the giant boat honked and played sirens because we were in its way. Again, felt very unsafe. For a person looking for a a casual, fun kayaking experience, this whole thing was too stressful. Would not recommend. Other kayaking places we saw on the water seemed more organized and safety-conscious.
