They would not honor their guarantee because they said there was wear on the soles. That is what happens when you walk in shoes, the soles wear down. Just neighborhood dog walking nothing extreme. They tried to blame me for buying the wrong but I had them fitted at that store and bought from that store less than year ago. I am completely disillusioned with REI as they do not honor their own guarantee.

In August 2025 my wife and I purchased a suit case from Sierra after looking for one for months…read more Our vacation was after thanksgiving so we didn't use it for 4 months. When we used it in November for the first time everything was fine until we tried to use the handle, after all the clothes filled up the suit case, the handle wouldn't not pull out. We went the entire trip pushing around the suit case without the ability to use the handle. I waited until January and decided to take the suit case back to the store after only using it once. I just wasn't right. The store could do nothing and recommended calling customer service. I called customer service and they asked for the date of purchase, my tjmax credit card number, my name, address, phone number and E-mail address. They said that they would research it and get back to me. 5 days later they got back to me and said since it was past the return policy date they could do nothing. Really! Why didn't they tell me that up front when I provided all that information. What a waste of time! Never did the customer rep. or store say anything regarding the return policy until they decision was made. Now I'm stuck with a suit case with a handle that doesn't work. They just lost a customer and they don't care. I have other choices like Amazon, Costco, Sam's Club or Kohls. Not Sierra!

Date of visit: 9/15/22…read more My husband recently received a promotion so I wanted to get him a couple of things that he could wear now that he has to step it up a little bit. After striking out at the first couple stores, I did find something that I thought he would like at The North Face. It didn't hurt that this happens to be one of his favorite brands. Unfortunately this happens to be a North Face store at an outlet mall, not to be confused with a North Face Outlet, which this certainly is not. They did have some clearance, but that was a bit limited, though my find was on that rack (score!). Of course the item I wanted didn't have a tag and was the only one like it on the entire rack, but the cashier was able to use the info on the tags to get the price and get me on my way. Outside of that cashier, there was no greeting or interaction in the store with any employees and I noticed that the other cashier asked their customer if they had a rewards number, but I didn't get the same question.

They have a shooting range as well as the marine aquarium with fish species you'd find in the area lakes. I noticed that depending on where in the country you visit one of their shops, there's always items that are exclusive to just that state. In my own opinion, sale prices aren't really a good deal to be found. They don't mark items down much.

The North Shore Yacht Club is Highghland Park's gem on the lake. What a great place to sail, paddle, sun, have fun and relax. With the cheap membership (I don't know of any better deal on the North Shore) you may use club boats and the clubhouse/deck for all your beach, boating and social desires. Want to race? Great! Want to sit back and enjoy the lake? Great! Want to hang out with some of the finest folks around? Great! Take advantage of the best feature of NE Illinois- Lake Michigan. NSYC does everything from regattas to outdoor movie nights. Head on down there and check it out. Just grab someone who looks happy and ask for a tour or the details, they will be happy to chat. Don't let the summer go by without heading to the lake!
