They play pickleball every Monday and Wednesday 8-10 am inside the Memorial Park Gym, and Saturdays, outdoors in the tennis courts from 8-11 am (until late March). I love this group because everyone is so friendly, and players of any level can find a game. I consider it the game for people with injuries (I had tennis elbow), as there are players with hip and knee replacements, and many a player has a body part wrapped (i.e. ankle). Ok, most are over 50! Some of them are top players; Doug Nichols, in charge of the group, is one of them. Pickleball is for anyone who wants to stay active and have fun at the same time. But as time went on , the organizer, Mike , would allow people to put their paddles together and it got to be where the guys ,mostly, were pulling their paddles and other people's paddles out of order so they could play together. I watched it happen all the time and when I said something, I was bullied and they had the nerve to complain to Mike about me. So one day, I put my paddle in an open spot near the front and Mike took it out and put it in the back. Then he waited for a guy who was playing, to get done and let him go rin MY open spot, and he went RIGHT back out and played with his 3 "buddies" !! So people should know they so NOT playing real open pickleball rules there., and ....Mike charges $7.09 to play on these city courts. So I just want people to be aware of this. I recommend Manhattan beach heights, mb intermediate school, Ernie Howkett park and Walteria courts as good places to play if you like fair open piickleball ball rules , and nice people who aren't "male bullies" who just want to bang the ball at you.

We've been bringing our kids to swim lessons at the Griffin Club for nearly a year and have…read moregenuinely enjoyed the experience (besides the food that really lacks quality and consistency). The swim instructors are wonderful and it's been a positive environment for our family. We were informed that non-members are only allowed to participate in swim lessons for a limited period (12 weeks). The fact that we were able to enjoy the club for nearly a year was an exception. We understood and respected the policy. Because we liked the club and have many friends who are members, we decided to move forward with a membership-- paying the significant initiation fee. However, after joining, we learned that some non-members we've seen in the past are now able to enroll in swim lessons by having member friends sign them up. This workaround seems to be very unfair, which makes the enforcement of the policy feel inconsistent. We've also heard ongoing concerns from members about how non-member participation in swim lessons can make scheduling more competitive. While we understand this from both sides, especially since we were recently non-members ourselves, it does highlight a broader issue around fairness and how benefits are structured. Members should always be given the priority. It's disappointing because we made a significant financial commitment based on what we were told. Greater clarity and consistency in how these policies are applied would go a long way in building trust and ensuring all members feel they are receiving the value they signed up for.

I really liked joining to stay active and getting to meet new people. However I won't be joining their leagues any longer and I urge you all to do the same. This time I joined a basketball league in Koreatown. Perhaps a new location would be better... The whole setup was a mess- players didn't know which team they were on, refs didn't show up, and parking was a nightmare (ok, parking isn't technically their fault). We only played 3 games total - the rest were either forfeited or played half court because none of the teams and players showed up. Before I didn't blame Zog but this has been a recurring scenario every season which leads me to believe they are padding their roster and teams. We were promised to have two referees every week - only one shows up every week. We always have to have a player on a team to track score and fouls because of this. Our final game of the season AND playoffs were cancelled because they didn't properly secure the venue. They didn't offer us refunds and gave us a laughable $5 credit to join future leagues. You have one important job that is to secure the venue and couldn't even do that... To sum it up... DO NOT JOIN SAVE YOUR MONEY. Another note they didn't mention anything about charity and which org we would like to donate to this time (which they clearly state in their website). Pretty much scam artists what more can I say.

The locations we play at for both are very friendly and great views/ scenery! Teams are amazing and openly welcoming to any one at ANY LEVEL OF PLAY! From beginners to advanced players everyone has fun! Their WEBSITE IS SO EASY TO USE ! I registered as a F/A in kickball and was placed on an amazing team! I even stay after my game to play other games because sometimes players don't show up so they need subs, there no ref fees ! THANK GOD ! Now I'm playing softball and won a few of my leagues overall a great experience and my home. I promise you you'll have the best adult rec sports time of your life
