We were thinking about a venue for this years Friendsgiving celebration and we landed on Pickle Haus. We had 15 people in our party so we contacted an Event Coordinator. After a telephone discussion, we got a cabana and 2 courts. When we arrived, we were informed that the cabana was ready and 1 court. We informed the receptionist that we reserved 2 courts, she checked the system and let us know that we had only 1. As well pulled up our text confirmations, it only indicated time but no court information. The receptionist looked and they did not have another opening so it was the cabana and 1 court. She asked us if we still wanted it and we said, yes since everyone is here. As the party went to the area, I hung back to speak to a manager. I explained to the manager that it was upsetting that there was a mistake. She said the best she can do since there were no open courts that she can extend the time 45 minutes. Also, when I asked how much to rent paddle, she said she would give me 4 at no charge (which was nice). When we got to our court, the previous party was still there and had to be asked to clear the area. The courts were great! It was well kept and had enough space in the out of bounds area so it was safe. The entire place has 12 courts and the atmosphere was lively. There is a restaurant for food and a walk up bar. Since we had a cabana, we had a server but the problem was that they only had 2 servers for the entire place, so you can imagine the slow service we had. The few times the server would come by, he didn't notice that our 1 pitcher of water would be empty and we had to ask a few times if he can refill it. We ordered Nachos and Hummus and pita and a few drinks. It came out to about $21 a person. Overall, the games and the time we had hanging with friends and family it was great! Our pickle ball "serves" were fast and furious but this place lacked good service. I feel the proper thing the staff should have done from the get go was to offer something for the inconvenience of not having 2 courts for our party. I had to wait back and ask. Especially for a big party. Our future Friendsgiving Outings will be pickleball but not sure we would come back.

Have a beer and appetizers and enjoy a good long game of pickle ball. What a great concept to drink and exercise. Service was quick and easy apps were great. We stayed there an extra hour. We're planning on going again.

Thai was our first time here and it was so much fun! It's great for people who love pickleball and want to play with friends competitively or just for fun. They also have a golf simulator which I would like to try next time. You can also rent paddles if you don't have your own. We order flatbread and better than I was expecting from a place like this. Drinks were fine nothing memorable but decent. We had 2 servers and they were both very friendly and helpful. My friends and I can't wait to come back! We wish it was closer to us because we live closer to the north shore.

We stopped in at Pickle Haus to check out the tournament they had going on and to grab some drinks and appetizers. Our pretzel bites were fantastic and would definitely order them again. The drink menu leaves a lot to be desired. Couldn't find any beers that I was interested in so decided on the Coors Light. Told they do not carry Coors anymore even though on the menu so had to go with Bud Light instead (which wasn't on the menu). My wife wanted Captain and Diet. They do not carry Captain Morgans which is odd for a bar. The pickleball courts looked outstanding and like a great place to play. Would love to go back and play but wouldn't go back for food and drinks.

Everyone is super nice! Great food and service. The restaurant has amazing pizza (love the dough). They have a delicious Apple Carmel drink (including a picture).

Nice facility. Some of the courts have blind spots where the sun is right in your eyes. Not a fan of the in house "pro".

I had a long commute home, so I left it uncut. It smelled so good, I wish I could have had a piece in the ride home. When we finally made it home after his long bus ride, I cut it and heated up a few slices at 250 in the oven. It was delicious....it would certainly be better fresh. Super crispy crust, sweet sauce without the typical tomato chunks like Lou's would be. Excellent cheese pulls and really flavorful when all the notes are combined. (About $23) The signage is not the best at night, so know it's attached to a meat store, deli like. Once I figure it out I went in to wait. The place was packed at 7:30 on a Wednesday. The bar is in the center left, with the to go pick up at one side. The tables flank all 180 degrees of the bar. Lots of people. Worth the hype, excited for the next 3.5 years of my son playing Cary Grove so we can try the Uncle Jerry's hot pepperoni pizza and the spinach as well. Check them out!

More often than not, you're looking at another tavern-cut pie, a dozen televisions screaming sports highlights, and a menu designed by committee. Safe. Predictable. Forgettable. Then there's Woodfire. I ended up here with my family celebrating my son's second birthday and was immediately reminded that every now and then, hidden among the endless strip malls and chain restaurants of the Chicago suburbs, you'll stumble across a place that actually gives a damn. The Vodka Pizza arrived looking almost too good to touch. Almost. Hot Calabrian vodka sauce. Fresh mozzarella. Shallot. Pepperoni. Ricotta. Basil. A combination that sounds familiar enough until that first bite lands and the heat punches through. Not the fake, watered-down, suburban version of spicy that restaurants use to avoid frightening anyone. This pizza has conviction. It has backbone. The Calabrian peppers make their presence known immediately and refuse to apologize for it. Good. Food should have an opinion. The crust, charred, blistered, beautifully imperfect, comes from house-made dough cooked in a wood-fired oven that sits like the beating heart of the restaurant. Every pie carries those little marks of fire that remind you an actual human being made it. Not a conveyor belt. Not a timer. Fire. Flour. Skill. And speaking of things that deserve respect, let's talk about the bar. Kevin has become something of a local legend in Dundee. The kind of bartender whose name gets mentioned before the cocktail list. The kind of guy who understands that making drinks isn't about pouring alcohol into a glass. It's hospitality, theater, craftsmanship, and just enough mischief to keep things interesting. Still chasing the heat from the pizza, I ordered the Spicy Flamingo. A dangerous drink. Sweet enough to invite you in. Spicy enough to keep you paying attention. The kind of cocktail that disappears faster than you intended and leaves you contemplating a second before the first one is gone. Around us, bussers moved through the dining room like a pit crew at Daytona. Tables were cleaned before they looked dirty. Empty glasses vanished. New guests were seated. The machine never stopped moving. Then there's Chef Mason. It's obvious someone in that kitchen understands the difference between cooking food and feeding people. There's technique here. Knowledge. Discipline. But thankfully none of the self-important nonsense that infects so many restaurants once they start believing their own press. Woodfire isn't trying to change your life. It's not trying to educate you. It's not trying to be the coolest restaurant in the room. Like Ferris Bueller, it understands that life moves pretty fast. So instead of chasing trends, it focuses on making exceptional handmade pizza, memorable pasta, serious cocktails, and creating a place where people actually want to spend an evening. In a world full of restaurants desperately trying to be something, Woodfire succeeds by simply being exactly what it is. And that's a hell of a lot rarer than it should be.
