The staff was busy cutting meat and making sandwiches, keeping everything moving along. The place is small, but there are a few tables inside. Like me, most people took their orders to go. The staff are nice, the prices are quite good, and the portion sizes are great. I got an egg salad on rye and it was delicious! And the pickles were *just right* I will definitely go back another time. One sandwich used gluten free bread and I was told "the bread was not as dense as other gluten free options and it was ok, but obviously not better than the rye." My sandwich on rye was excellent. This is a really cute place. It's small only a few tables so if you want to eat in you better prepare to wait or get there early. there is no waiter service. You order at the counter and then you wait at a table for your food or you wait in the restaurant for your food to go. They have big coolers with soda. lots of Dr Brown's. An assortment of cookies and pastries Are available. They offer different size sandwiches, regular and large from what I see. What I had very tasty, but I asked for a large, and to be honest it didn't really look like a lot of meat on there. I also ordered the split pea soup and that was delicious. The Deli is cute. It has a small sitting area inside. The place is very clean. The menu is listed on a board on top of the counter. It is a good size menu. A great local deli! I got a roast beef sandwich on challah bread (to-go) and the meat tasted perfect. My sandwich came with pickles too. My sandwich was a little pricey at almost $20, but I made it into two meals. It's been a while since I've been here and I completely blanked while ordering, but cashier was nice and patient. They really should have a better menu displayed showing the selections of what you can get for bread and toppings. Parking is awful, so you may need to drive around to find a spot. read more

I ordered through Uber Eats on August 16 2025 (Saturday). 1/2 Turkey pastrami sandwich on rye, with chicken noodle soup paid additional fee for it a larger soup. And a Medium container of egg salad and chopped liver. Total came to 40.00 what I expected was the standard medium container I receive at every other deli. Instead I paid 11.45 for what is a small at every location I've been to. And the chopped liver which I wanted to have for lunch today had gone off must be a 24 hour chopped liver. The egg salad needed salt, pepper and mayo because it was dry and flavorless. I expect some form of mark up, but this was ridiculous. Very disappointed. The soup was decent as was the sandwich. There were 4 employees working the sandwich line and all remained busy. There wasn't anything on the menu that I wouldn't try but I selected the tuna salad on white bread. Fun lunch at the Pickle Barrel Deli! We split a Corned beef on Rye Reuben and it was delish! It came with pickles and a choice of sides! We had the potato salad which was really good and the pickles were yum. They were kind enough to give us each a separate basket with our own pickles LOL. It is very small inside and the tables are close together. We were there early on a Saturday. The place got busy and crowded. They had a lot of take out as well. The meat is fresh, so flavorful , so juicy. The meat stays in a steamer pot and sliced to order. The Soups are made daily feeds your soul, brings comfort and then gives you a big hug. They have different types of pickles to pick from. Fresh and with a crunch. This place is small but puts out a ton of yummy goodness. If you eat in you get to read their story on the wall and see the generations they have blessed in this town. Wow with such high hopes what an utter disappointment. I don't write the review lightly but today was shocking. Stopped in for a quick lunch with a buddy as I have not been here in 20 years but remembering being top shelf. Place still same, very clean and very nice people. Prices have become just crazy, I guess it is everywhere but $16.99 for a simple pastrami or corned beef is getting excessive, especially that it was not overloaded with meat. In short, the quality of both the pastrami & corned beef were excellent, it was the lack thereof that bothered me. Next up pricing for can of soda ridiculous. Last but not least the soups. Hands down worst soup I have ever had. The Matza ball was like dishwater with absolutely no flavor whatsoever. The hung of "BALL" was had some weird taste to it and the vegetables of the few that were there were undercooked and hard as a rock. The Chicken noodle was equally bad with only noodles replacing the rock of a matza. This one unfortunately gets scratched off the table. read more
