Excellent staff, memorable experience. I went yesterday after talking with Kevin the night before, trying to match up a specific green-blue shade of paint that I was able to find a substitute for on Pinterest. I'm fairly inexperienced with paint (unless you count "Haze Gray Underway" days). I had got some estimates from painters in town and since I was only doing one accent wall, didn't know if one gallon of the paint would be enough (it is, and Kevin was very helpful and patient; he put the info in their computer under my name so all I had to do was stop by yesterday, and get it mixed, which was done in 10 minutes or less while I shopped for other household needs. Unlike many salespeople nowadays, these nice people (every staff member was great!) made me feel welcomed, helped me every step of the way, were fast and courteous, and very knowledgeable. I'm not a do-it-yourself-er, but perhaps after my experience here I can branch out and learn how to do more things that I'm new to. I don't like big box stores so a store this small, helpful with small checkout lines, and mellow local customers, didn't trigger anxiety the way a visit to any store usually does for me. They even welcomed my therapy dog, many of the children came up and petted him, and adults asked about him. Buddy was really in his element there with all the attention and he flopped on the floor to get belly rubs. So, doggo approved as well. Kudos to the young lady in the paint department who I also found helpful when picking out grade of sandpaper, and just generally friendly...I'll add her name in once I go back and find out. I remembered Kevin's name because I bought a grill as a Father's Day present for my husband last year, and Kevin assisted me with buying that online when they had a good sale, as well as delivered that and our American flag, which my husband really appreciated. The staff will even offer to help you carry your items out. I asked if they can accept tips, and they can (I wasn't sure, as Publix and some other local places don't let them). Make sure you get signed up for their rewards card, which can also be placed in virtual wallet or just looked up by phone number. We will definitely be back, even though it's not right in our area, it's not too far down on 50, on the left before you get to downtown Brooksville (if driving from Spring Hill). read more

I am a HUGE fan of the ACE Hardware franchise! I recently moved to Brooksville, and I needed a few supplies this evening to help me finish up my move. I also needed a leaf blower to tame the yard. I was looking at the Stihl and then I asked about the EGO battery powered brand. The man who helped me was super knowledgeable and helped me choose the right one for me. The best part was that the item I chose was on sale! I never would have thought a battery powered blower would do the trick, but he was able to turn the machine on in the store to show me the amount of power. This thing packed a punch! If you shop in this place, you will find they have lots of good stuff but if you want somebody who is going to go out of the way to help you then you're going to have to see a young lady named Mikaela. She is one of the finest worker-types I have ever dealt with in retail; She cut some glass for me and she gave me three pieces of the cut glass; a person who did it before her gave me one piece, it was too big and I broke it; this girl goes out of her way and she has been an employee at ACE for several years and I cannot say enough good about her over the last several years she has served me in Brooksville, Florida. read more

This store is well supplied. The staff go out of their way to help you find what you need. Shortly after I moved to the area I was trying to find fixtures for my lamps (the original fixtures had been lost in the move). I drove to Picketts with the lamps in my car. One staff followed me out to my car to try out Picketts fixtures to make sure they were right. I really appreciated that. read more

This store is 1 mile from my house. This morning I donned my mask walked in asked where I might find a tire gage. Got the gage standing far away from the unmasked customer checking out. He forgot something and turned and started coming towards me and I start backing down, and I guess he was going to push me aside and I SCREAMED. Please, I don't want you this close to me without a mask. He replied Fuck you. There were 4 men within hearing distance 2 of them were employees. Not one of them even looked in my direction or offered any help. A little older woman is screaming in your store and you don't help her? I don't need that. Buying online again. Will not support any business that doesn't consider my health and safety in their store. read more

I reserved a Uhaul trailer, dolly, and moving blankets. When I arrived the clerk said no one had turned in a dolly so she didn't have one to give me. She said I would have to get one from another Uhaul location. An advance phone call would have been nice. I felt like I was in a Seinfeld episode - Me "You lost my reservation for a dolly? Them - "We didn't lose you reservation. We have it right here. We just don't have a dolly for you". They hooked up the trailer and I left to go to the other location. It turns out they didn't give me the moving blankets either. I ended up getting the blankets and dolly from the other Brooksville Uhaul location. If I had been given a courtesy call in advance I could have gone to the other location in the first place and gotten everything I needed at that one location. Not a good way to start moving day. This may be a good hardware store, but it is not a good Uhaul rental location. read more

I didn't find this Ace Hardware as friendly as most Ace Hardware's and I've been in it numerous times some of the people there are quite friendly and some are just the opposite it seems there are some that do not know their business all that well and things are not handled in a timely manner always. There are a couple of employees that seem a little cranky. 1 quart sized can of paint that I bought, a specialty paint they put in the paint mixer and crushed the can all to pieces and she said it would be fine but I after I got it home it leaked all out and I lost much of that court and it was about $15 a quart. I had a reservation for a 20 foot uhaul to pick up. When i arrived - the guy tried to give me a 26 foot. I explained that this was way too big to maneuver through the neighborhood i was going into. I got no notification of the change in vehicle size until i arrived. The guy at the desk was not apologetic and continued to say that was what was on my reservation. I showed him my confirmation that clearly said 20 foot truck. The guy offered no help when i told him i could not use the larger truck. How dare you treat a customer like this. The uhaul customer service person advised me that the guy could have helped me find another vehicle. He did not even offer this. What is happening to this city?? How can a retail hardware store treat customers like this? It's lazy and inconsiderate. I would advise that no one shop here due to the horrible customer service experienced in this store. Even the first man i spoke with asking where to go for the uhaul reservation was rude and acted as if my question was a hassle to answer. The only person who was helpful and nice was the last upfront running the registers. read more
