I'm puzzled by the negative reviews here for Pickers. They do not describe in any way the experiences I've had with them. I've been a customer since the company was started by sisters Lindsey and Laura several years ago. Their senior rate beats the pants off any other waste disposal company's. They have never - not once! - missed a pick-up. The rare times they've been late have been due to equipment issues, and they have always come the next day when this occurred. I've never had any problem contacting them if I had questions or concerns. Another thing I appreciate about Pickers is that they are very respectful of my property - unlike the big companies, their guys never leave the emptied trash bin out in the street. They always put it back exactly where they found it. In my 27 years of living in my house, I've had several really crappy, rude, disrespectful and expensive trash collection services. I've fired more than I can remember. Pickers is head and shoulders above the rest, which is why I've been their customer for so long. I'm surprised that others have had such negative experiences because I've never seen anything of the sort they describe. I wouldn't use anyone else. read more

Extremely unhappy with the back and forth of this business. I was told in the beginning of March that they could service our home, even though they weren't signing up people until April. We have our own trash bin and recycling bin so they agreed and charged my credit card. After Pickers missed the first pick up, I called and asked what was wrong. A representative said she thought this would happen because of the early sign up, but assured me of the pick up the following day. Again, no pick up. I called again and after the representative spoke with the owner, they decided I have to wait until April 1st to get service. I decided to wait and not get refunded because they are a small business and I have had major issues with American; seemingly the only other trash/recycling service that will service my area. Our trash and recycling has been piling up as you can probably imagine by now. Well, today, two days before the first, I get a voicemail saying they won't service our area now and they will refund my card. I am disappointed in the constant back and forth and now, I have literally weeks of trash to try to get rid of. I do not recommend this business. read more

Whoever is considering using PICKERS--I could NOT recommend it less. After cancelling service to our area WITHOUT notification, we have called multiple times and have been assured that someone will come retrieve our trash for the last time. We were given at least three separate dates, all of which never happened, nor were we notified after each pickup was missed. We had to call again and again, and each time received a new timeline for final pickup and retrieval that did not happen (in fact, STILL has not happened). While realizing these are trying times, trash services are essential, and we have a backlog of literally a month's worth of trash sitting out front. To add final insult to injury, we have also not received a refund for the months we have paid but will no longer receive after our cancelled service--something else we were promised time and again. You're better off picking any other disposal service in your area. They have zero routine, changing pick up days constantly, inconsistent pick up times on your scheduled trash day, and the customer service is just as bad. After calling about our trash not being picked up second week in a row, they tried to say the can must not have been out and they have received no other calls. Every single Pickers customer in my neighborhood has had their cans out since Thursday. Quick to blame the customer instead of taking responsibility. read more

Awful service. They advertise as a friendly small reputable business but don't buy the hype. I caught them several times on my camera dumping trash with recycling (I sort all my stuff meticulously). I also caught them missing many pickups and after calling them was accused of not having my cans out on time. I literally had to send video footage of me putting my cans out the night before to get them to make up for their mistakes. Avoid at all costs. read more

I am a person who supports small businesses but this particular one is not worth anyone's hard earned dollars. In all honesty, I understand sometimes things get delayed due to bad weather and whatnot but when the consumer calls and asks for details on what's going on, as the small business owner, it's your job to reassure and give the consumer some sort of confidence in your business. Pickers, instead of reassuring me, suggested I go somewhere else because she could not "and I quote" "be made to feel rushed to deliver trash bins" that were ordered weeks ago. We just moved into a new house so you can imagine we have trash piling up from unpacked boxes. We signed up for trash pickups with Pickers on 10/19/2020. We were told that we would get our bins on 10/30/2020 and be on the list for pickup on 11/02/2020. Now, there was a storm so of course delays happen. I understand. What really angered me about this company was the representative I spoke with just now about when I should expect my bins. She made it very clear to me that my business was not important to her because she had "hundreds of deliveries to make and does not like feeling rushed to do her job". How disgusting! For all the positive reviews you have, here's one negative and true review. I hate that I ever considered giving my money to your business. I strongly do not recommend this company. read more

it has been a month since I start my service with Pickers and it has been a nightmare. After being told I would receive a trash container I never received one. Had to Call every week because my trash was missed. Finally had to call and cancel my service. Only way to get good service is bring my trash to the dump myself. read more

failure at every turn from taking my trash can to not picking up trash, i have high hopes for this company and applaud the fact that it is owned and operated by women entrepreneurs. Until today I did not have a good taste in my mouth from this company because they do not respond to email and don't always come on the same day of the week, which messes me up. But, I have had about 10 extra large heavy duty bags of insulation and other debris sitting by the house. I figured I would work it into my trash one large bag a week if I can fit it in the barrel. But, today the truck came back after picking up my trash and offered to get all of the rest of it piled by the house. I was blown away. I can think of no greater example of going the extra mile for the customer. read more

I received an email stating I could pay ahead for 10 months and get 2 months free. Sounds fishy so I checked with the Secretary of State. They filed for dissolution on 10-22-21. BEWARE. I went through this with the last 3 trash services and had to resolve it with my credit card company because they, too, went out of business. read more

Great Customer Service. Feels good to give Pickers my business as they work very hard to satisfy the customers who live in the same area where they live. I can always reach a human when I call or email and get a prompt response which is virtually impossible when dealing with the big trash pickup conglomerates. read more

Signed up for waste pickup after last company went out of business leaving me with close to a month of garbage. Initial service was rough because their office gave me wrong pickup day, their customer service was great however in that they swung by, dropped off a can & picked up my garbage on a non scheduled day. Now 4 months later after great service on Mondays at the start of a new billing cycle they have missed me 2 consecutive weeks & when contacted they are back saying pickup day is a different day, this with no warning. Is there anyone else experiencing problems with pickers? I loved the idea of using this company instead of American Disposal, all was well until last week when my trash was not picked up and again this week. I have two weeks of trash not picked up and the customer service representative does not seem to care. They were supposed to pick up my trash last week on Monday, I didn't want to bother them and waited thinking maybe they are short staffed, I called on Thursday when I figured their must be a problem. Their customer service said they would look in to it and call me back, I never received a call back....I called back before they closed and was told there is nothing they can do for me, so I went ahead and jumped on the trash to compact it and make space to hold me until the next pickup date. My trash again was not picked up this Monday as well, I called today (Wednesday morning at around 8:45am) and the customer service was not helpful and blamed me for not calling on Tuesday before 10am, I explained to her I had a really busy work day on Tuesday and that I was not able to call; she then proceeded to mock me by saying she will call me back later today "or will you be to busy today as well" in a condescending tone, still no call back....I was not aware that I have to stay on top of them to do their job, I would have thought they would have made a better effort seeing that they missed me last week. All this after they raised my rate for next quarter from $60 to $78.75, I never bothered them about it and paid up (before the due date). read more

Am very pleased with the job Pickers consistently does. They have been very reliable and communicated promptly when there were changes in scheduled service. They've also been great about picking up extra boxes during this time of need. Went through several other services to address these issues before we found these guys. We're very happy with them! read more
