A decent spot to find second-hand items, antiques, and collectables in Ravena; pretty much the only place, lol! This is a plaza shared by several 'Pickers,' and pricing is moderate. On the left - The outside portion of the plaza is just a mess, the store owner has clothing and misc. items strung out everywhere in pack-rat fashion. Customers can't even go inside the building because he hasn't organized anything yet. The only area to shop is in the parking lot in front of the warehouse section of the building. All he has for sale is clothing that should be tossed year ago, broke-down furniture, a few lamps, a couple of shelves, misc. pieces of scrap metal, some odd-ball books like David Letterman's Mom's Cookbook, and bags of coconut that were expired 6-years ago; how is this even a store?? On the Right - The store is inside the building and run by an older woman. She does a great job on keeping the store organized and clean. We found a few notable items here such as the antique metal Delco fan, The Monster Energy Epiphone guitar, a variety of well-made bowie knives and machetes, the selection of military bags and gear, several pieces of artwork, a small bar with seating, and two vintage blown Santa's. We didn't find anything we couldn't live without this time around but don't let that stop you from checking them out if you are shopping in the area. I would visit again next time I'm back in town. read more

I stopped here while passing through NY. There was a lot to look through, but the whole store smelled rancid, like someone has been smoking cigarettes inside for the past decade. It was hard to breathe so not much time was spent browsing. read more

Eclectic road-side indoor antiques store. Up front is a glass case with stamps, postcards, watches. Several rooms are staged by themes: kids' toys, books, kitchen, garden and so on. I'm glad that…read moreI didn't see any of the negative reviews prior to my visit, because I can now honestly say they are all wrong. To the people complaining about the prices; this is a small business that doesn't have corporate sponsorship or the ability to buy big box store quantities resulting in slightly higher prices, but very much improved quality. To the people complaining about the service; when I was there shopping there were only two people working, which as an adult who works in retail customer service understands, just because it's not busy inside, it doesn't mean the worker's are not busy. I highly recommend Black Horse Farm for great plants, delicious baked goods, and friendly local service. I even want to mention that when it comes to customer service, one of the employees overheard me talking about Strawberry Rhubarb Pie, and when I mentioned they didn't have any, they went to the back and got one for me that was still cooling; that's customer service. So, if you are someone who appreciates the nuance of shopping local, I can not recommend Black Horse Farm enough, but if you're a whiny adult who needs their hand held at all times while shopping, and gets offended with someone quickly answering a question while continuing to do their work (again, small staff but still lots of work to do), perhaps you should go to a corporate big box store. Me, I know where I'm going, and it's to Black Horse Farm!

To everyone bitching about the prices, it's called gentrification, if you don't like it, stop moving here, flipping houses into overpriced Airbnb vacation spots. Some of my favorite business owners are gruff. That's how you stay in business. You stand your ground while people give you one star reviews for literally surviving this life. Get over yourself. We get our turkey here every year. And after reading some of these one star reviews, I'm gonna go lay down some dollars next week. Some of you don't deserve black horse farms.
