I'd describe it as a cross between an antique co-op, thrift shop and flea market. Cool place!

The Magic Mile Flea Market - Looks Like Nothing, But We Couldn't Pass Up This 60s-70ish $30 Wood+Metal Large Mirror

The Magic Mile Flea Market

"Trash market", "old stuff", call it how you want- but this outdoor Magic Mile (I so wanna call it,…read moreMagic Mike) Flea Market has some interesting pieces. On Route 28 in Arkville, NY, hubs and I have found great Magic antique+vintage pieces at a serious bargain. These folks have been here as long as I've been coming up to the Catskills when the entire field was FILLED elbow-deep with vendors. They've dwindled over the years and you can count the stalls with your hand now. Regardless, spend a few solid hours just browsing through what they have because you'll find a piece or two that'll catch your eye with the limited supply. One particular vendor name Lou- who we've purchased from- used to have loads of vintage pieces- and somehow sold commercial cleaning supplies (brand new) for cheap. Bizarre mix for an outdoor flea market- but it has worked. Another vendor who we met on a Sunday name Federika(sp?) sold me a $30 heavy-a-f*ck mirror that I couldn't pass up. I also couldn't haggle with that. For the poundage on it, I swore it was at least $75 or more. Oh, and bring cash- because these folks most likely, not have a Square.

This is a continuation of a great Flea Market that was a few miles south of Woodstock on 28S. It…read morewill definitely be open weekends in mid-May. Lou started by selling household items on the old Flea with a few others. You may find tremendous items, or nothing, probably in-between. But worth the trip to Arkville on NY 28S.

However, the asking prices on almost everything here is double or triple what a human being in this reality should be asking. I realize that vendors all set their own prices, but I've never been to a more off-putting array of nonsense. It's like everyone looked up the highest eBay asking price and tripled it, hoping to find an idiot. Dollar bin trash records are being sold for prices that insult your intelligence. The absolute worst instance of this up-your-own-buttness was a common Green Goblin trading card, worth about 25 cents, being sold for ten dollars. This is either stupid or malicious, and it compels one to just stop even looking around. If you pay these prices, you are not smart. You are the people these vendors depend on; don't fall for it. If you're a good vendor, sorry - you're surrounded by people who are killing your business by demotivating real buyers from even caring. And please, do not give me that asinine line that "something is worth whatever someone will pay for it". That's garbage. I've been in this business for 25 years. You're wrong. Flea at 99, get better vendors. Selection means nothing if it's all so far above reasonable pricing. I'm not even looking for a discount, just a fair price. Not here. I'd rather dig through the garbage than be insulted like this.

Prices are decent, and the vendors have different styles, so there is something for everyone's taste. Vintage dishes, clothes, carpets, excellent and unique design-oriented home furnishings. Check it out! I think they are close Mondays & Tuesdays.

Dear 57 Remsen St, Terrible customer service. I've been…read moregoing there for a couple months and there is this old lady who has her own corner who is always taking bad about me whenever I am there. Today I went in and she was mad when I came in even though they were open for business. She kept saying under her breath shd had some stuff to do in her corner. She was angry about watching me and my sister as we were shopping because we she believed we would steal. You would think that as a returning customer she would know by now we are not like that. Sh then chose to talk behind my back to another worker about how I was just "browsing around" and not buying. Of course I have to "browse around" when there is a ton of stuff to sift through!!! She is a very racist women I would say based on my religion and the way I dress. My sister who has Down Syndrome went in with me last month. My sister was tired and sat on one of the old chairs. The same lady goes off my sister ranting with another worker yet again not realizing my sister has a disability. She said "why are they sitting if they won't buy". I'm disappointed at the lack of respect given to me as a customer. I will no longer go here again despite the good finds unless I am given an apology. Another note, I am a LOCAL OF COHOES IN HIGH SCHOOL.
