The place has a…read morefun, high-energy garage theme with automotive décor everywhere you look--neon signs, vintage gas station vibes, and a laid-back atmosphere that makes it perfect for families, date nights, or grabbing food with friends. The burger selection is honestly impressive. With 50+ specialty burgers on the menu, there's something for everyone--from classic builds to bold creations piled high with unique toppings. The quality of the beef stands out: juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right. Even the buns hold up well against the towering stacks. Beyond burgers, they've got solid appetizers (the fried pickles and cheese curds are local favorites), good wings, and a wide beer selection featuring regional and national brews. Portion sizes are generous, so come hungry. Service is typically friendly and fast-paced, even when it's busy--which it often is. It's a popular spot for a reason. Overall: Great food, fun atmosphere, and tons of variety. If you love creative burgers and a lively setting, Sickies Garage in Fargo delivers.

For an appetizer, I ordered the cheese curds, they were hot, but very average. Not bad, not great, just your standard bar-style curds. For my meal, I decided to try something different and went with the donut burger. Definitely an odd combo, but it was fun to try while in town. Flavor-wise, it was fine, unique, but not something I'd order again. The mac and cheese side, though, was a miss. Easily one of the weakest parts of the meal. I'm not sure why so many restaurants struggle with mac and cheese but still feel confident charging extra for it. On the bright side, the $5 happy hour drinks were great, generous pours and a solid bartender. Overall, this place is your average, run-of-the-mill sports bar. Nothing special, but not bad if you're just looking for a casual spot to grab a drink and a bite.

When things had finally stabilized we decided to take ourselves out and landed at Lucky 13's. This is my kinda joint. Pub atmosphere, perfect (free) popcorn, fantastic retro tuneage, and speedy, efficient service are a given. The food is next level nom nom. They're one of the few restaurants out there that does a Monte Cristo sammich and when it's paired with their custom L13 Tots? Epicurean delights abound. The only reason I'm giving the experience 4 stars (rather than 5) is because their checkout process is entirely too old school. And the pen I was given to sign the receipt had little-to-no ink left in it. I know. Seems petty. But when it takes so long to do the whole card-bill-process-return dance that asking for a better writing utensil seems like a huge effort? Yup.
