We ordered takeout and really enjoyed everything we got: brisket, pulled pork, a half rack of ribs (we chose the Sticky style), and mac and cheese. The food came out quickly, and the bar staff were very friendly and welcoming. There was plenty of food for my wife and me, with enough left over for a full second meal--which made this a great value as well. The ribs were fantastic. We chose the Sticky ribs, and they were exactly the fall-off-the-bone style I love: tender, juicy, and nicely coated with a flavorful, slightly sweet sauce. The pulled pork was also excellent--very juicy and tender with plenty of flavor. I topped mine with their spicy BBQ sauce, which I really liked. It isn't overwhelmingly hot, but it has just enough zip to make things interesting. My wife thought the pulled pork was a little bland on its own, while I thought it was just right. Chalk that one up to different tastes! That's part of what makes barbecue fun. The brisket was extremely tender, with a beautiful seared crust on the ends and slices cut at what I thought was the perfect thickness. My one reservation--and the reason I'm giving four stars rather than five--is that I found the brisket a little salty. I normally eat a very low-sodium diet, so I may simply be more sensitive to salt than most people. My wife didn't find it overly salty at all, so I wouldn't consider this a flaw in the brisket, just a difference in personal preference. For someone who enjoys a more generously seasoned brisket, this could easily be a five-star dish. The mac and cheese was creamy, flavorful, and very satisfying. It also came topped with a couple of slices of smoked sausage. The sausage had a nicely spiced flavor and a firm, meaty texture that was a great complement to the creamy mac and cheese. Assuming if you ordered the sausage as part of the meal it would be the same so recommending you try that as well. Overall, we were very happy with the meal. I'm giving NoBull four stars because I reserve five stars for those rare meals where absolutely everything is perfect *for me*. The food here was very good, and the one issue I had was really a matter of my personal sensitivity to salt. I could easily see someone else giving this place five stars. If you're a local or just passing through Fargo, I'd definitely recommend giving NoBull Smokehouse a try. And if you're ordering takeout, I'd suggest asking for extra BBQ sauce. We received two small plastic containers, but we probably could have used four!

I'm eating my way through Fargo and it's great. I've decided that I'm going to add a PR factor…read morerating, it's important. So PR factor, for the young lady who took our name and amount of our party is a 1. Learn to be friendly, period. Thanks goodness an older person stepped in to take over. The first time that we tried to eat here, it was a no go. The same young lady, using the same monotone, unfriendly tone, said "yeah you're looking at 35 or more minute wait", then turned away from us. Ok thanks. The inside is wood tones. In the lobby are items that show a championship for their bbq sauce. To me it has a cowboy/western kind of thing and it works. In the dining room are many tables and booths and it's comfy. There is also a bar in place, if you prefer going there. Fast forward to last evening. We were in at about 5:15. We had about a 15 minute wait. The amount of people entering and leaving is huge. I saw couples and a lot of big tables in place. I saw servers hoofing it all over the place, talk about busy. No one sits idle here. Ah the food...I'm telling you someone is seriously doing something right here. Our server showed up promptly and was great. Kudos to Grace, you're doing a good job! I ordered the bbq brisket wrap with fries, my husband ordered the sirloin with a side of beans and a side salad. I had tea and a Guinness for him. The drinks came out quickly, along with my husband's side salad. I almost ordered the side salad as one of my sides but I'm glad I didn't because it was really a big size for being a side. My husband said it was fresh and tasted great. Out came our meals. The wrap actually kind of reminded me of a chimichanga, it was grilled on the outside and it was so good, I'm used to wraps not being grilled, but I really liked this. The brisket was melt in your mouth good and had just the right amount of bbq sauce, along with grilled onions that were sweet and delicious. The fries were good, nothing special, but just good. My husband was definitely pleased with his steak, juicy and grilled to perfection. He said the beans were great. Our server checked on us multiple times, along with handling other tables, her service was appreciated. For the two of us it was about 66.00 dollars without tip. Just an fyi, if you use a credit card, you will be charged a 3% surcharge to offset processing costs. This place is hugely popular and I can see why. It's got it going on with good food, great service and a nice ambiance going on. So would I come back here? Of course, it's just a good place. We'll be back for sure.

When things had finally stabilized we decided to take ourselves out and landed at Lucky 13's. This is my kinda joint. Pub atmosphere, perfect (free) popcorn, fantastic retro tuneage, and speedy, efficient service are a given. The food is next level nom nom. They're one of the few restaurants out there that does a Monte Cristo sammich and when it's paired with their custom L13 Tots? Epicurean delights abound. The only reason I'm giving the experience 4 stars (rather than 5) is because their checkout process is entirely too old school. And the pen I was given to sign the receipt had little-to-no ink left in it. I know. Seems petty. But when it takes so long to do the whole card-bill-process-return dance that asking for a better writing utensil seems like a huge effort? Yup.

We were seated promptly and got our complimentary popcorn per usual. I ordered the taco salad bowl with chicken and my husband had a burger. Our server was delightful. The space was clean and mirrored all the other Lucky's establishments. In MN, we have a live station with typically a volunteer running pull tabs. To our surprise, it was a pull tab machine here. Even more lucky, I pulled a $600 winner and we also got a few $5 ones bringing our jackpot to $610!!! What a lovely day and experience. Thank you!!
