Apparently, the items were by mistake sent out without being checked over for defects. The company acknowledged this and credited me for their mistake. They did advise to always get pictures emailed before ordering from a salvage yard which will be very helpful to anyone who orders. Since I couldn't remove the rating from before , I wanted to give credit to the staff who graciously helped resolve the issues with our order. I arrived before 7am and I told the service representative my issue. He said, "there is a diagnostic fee." I said , "I don't need a diagnosis." He said, "That's how our technicians are paid." When the manager got there I asked him to come aside so we could talk. I told him what his employee said and I said I don't need a diagnosis. That's when the manager said, "We don't have the part. The part is on back order." So when I made the appointment I was NOT told that they didn't have the part. When I spoke to the service representative, he didn't tell me they didn't have the part but he did try to insist I pay $200.00, for a diagnosis and then what? This review is specific to A-1's junkyard at the 1200 Pulaski Highway location…read more The yard itself is relatively small and is bordered by US Route 40 on the west and the Acela train corridor on the east. There is no cost to go onto the lot to examine cars in the "pick your part" section. My current complaint is that A-1 uploads misleading photos to the various junkyard and car-part databases. A-1 apparently photographs a salvage vehicle upon its arrival, when the car looks its best. Then, to move the vehicle into the yard, A-1 utilizes a frontend loader with a fork attachment to pierce the windshield. This results in irreparable damage to the interior (and sometimes other body parts). Naturally, like junkyard catfishing, the car and the interior parts look far worse in person than in their online photographs. To compound the problem, on cars where A-1 has removed the transaxle or engine, A-1 thereafter dumps the half shafts and other tangential parts into the interior of the car (soaking the interior parts with transmission fluid, oil, grease, or all three). A-1 needs to either change its operating procedure or photograph the cars once they are actually in the yard.
