While waiting, I watched an interaction at the counter. An elderly couple came for their vaccine. They were being helped by Charis (I asked her her name on my way out). Charis, at the very hectic window, was so patient, professional, kind and helpful. She displayed a wonderful disposition and attitude at a very busy time. She was scurrying around in the back, making sure things were just right. Her above and beyond attitude didn't go unnoticed. Watching her made my time go by with gratitude and being thankful that there are wonderful human beings in this world who genuinely do want to help. Kudos and thank you, Charis. You made my day at Walgreen's pharmacy a little brighter. A big shout out to Annette, the pharmacy tech who administered my vaccine. Annette was also professional, patient and kind. A great experience and I'm looking forward to my second vaccine dose in 4 weeks.

I told them that my current prescription was at my old Walgreens more than 2 hours away and I would not get there in time before they closed. I also made them aware that I would be getting very sick without my meds and because my meds were a partial fill, (my old pharmacy didn't have many in stock) that they couldn't or wouldn't help me. I even asked if they could give me just enough medicine to hold me over until I could make the 4 hour round trip drive to get another script and then transfer it to them. They told me they would not. I picked up what I thought was a completed order, only to get partway home (with a cake and melting ice in the car) and realize the photos hadn't been trimmed as they were supposed to be. I had to drive all the way back to get it fixed. When I finally got home again -- now two hours later -- I opened the poster I'd ordered and discovered that it also wasn't trimmed to size. It looks sloppy and unusable. I tried calling the store to avoid another trip, but after being put on hold twice and never speaking to anyone, it seems I'll have to go back again just to get what I paid for. This is not the first time I've had issues at this location -- they've also failed to have prescriptions ready when promised in the past. I understand that mistakes happen, but there seems to be a serious lack of attention to detail and follow-through here. Not worth the stress or wasted time.

This location has been here since the beginning of time it seems like, and despite all the changes done to the grand avenue it's not changed. They have cute mini mento gum, and the latest candy bars, including the banana nut snickers. Honestly couldn't tell much difference between the banana nut and the regular snickers like I was hoping, but it was worth a try, and a walk to the back of the store to find it since the display by the register was empty. Staff does their job, only one register in use mostly, so even a few people checking out can become a line if you're in a rush. Occasionally there's a security guard in store.

That said, on a busy Saturday afternoon this Walgreens pharmacy came thru for me big time. They processed my insurance and RX in a timely manner, explained some state laws that we don't have in California and were nothing but polite and kind to me. Thank you Walgreens for taking care of me 2,000 miles away from home. Hopefully if I visit your part of the world for Phish again in the future I can stop by for something fun like Gummy Bears and not RX.
